  1. Sadly, I've got pictures. Although now that we can copy/paste text, and save costume files, rolling a character for the eleventieth time isn't so bad.

  2. Was nice to see Robert J Sawyer on the list. Didn't vote for him, because I hadn't read that particular entry, but he's a damn good writer of optimistic sci-fi.

Also didn't vote for Cryptonomicon, one of my top 5 books all time, because it's not something I'd consider sci-fi.

One of Stephenson's other 84 books on the list, The Diamond Age did get my vote as something interestingly different. Likewise for Ender's Game by Card

The Day of the Triffids was one I voted for. Its basic premise is one I see mirrored in a lot of zombie stuff, with the movie 28 Days Later pretty much just swapping out killer plants for killer zombies.

The Time Machine was my favourite of Wells books that I have read, and got a vote. I think Journey to the Center of the Earth got my other old timey vote for awesome.

Conan, the Dark Tower, LotR, and a few other series let me vote for a few dozen books all told, which is cheating I suppose, but it's not my list.

Ditto. Thought it was a lot better than critics made it out to be.
  4. I've had a few thoughts on Time Bomb, or what they could do with it without completely screwing with its basic functionality. Turn it into a grenade style power, a simple ranged aoe attack, although that is less fitting with the theme of the set. Alternatively, something that could be cool is to make it into Detonator from the MM set, but have it target one of the other pets from the traps set (Acid Mortar, FFG, PGT, etc). Basically a self-destruct planted in your equipment; a last ditch effort to take out the enemies.

As it is now, it's pretty bad.

    Falling Skies

This summer has been pretty good to me for new sci-fi series. So far I've watched the first season of Outcasts, Haven, and Falling Skies. All three are very good. Also just started in on the first season of Tru Blood, so I'll see how that goes.

Unfortunately I'm going to be out of town this weekend, so I'll have to catch up next week with the finale. Judging by the last few episodes it should be pretty great.

This is something I've never understood. Inv runs less toggles than any other tanker set, for less end/s than any other tanker set, yet somehow gets stuck with a reputation of being end heavy.
  7. Yes, corruptors are joining defenders, stalkers, tankers, peacebringers, and blasters on the junk heap.

More seriously, SinisterDirge is right. No one's really going to notice a few percentage points difference, and the ones that do are likely the same people that are going to be giving the team step-by-step instructions on how to play their characters the 'right' way.
  8. Heavy Ordinance - one that's been mentioned a few times; grenades, rockets, artillery, air strikes; the good stuff; hard hitting, slow, aoe-heavy

Storm Armor - someone made an incredibly detailed write-up for a storm armor powerset at one time (very detailed) but I can't find it for the life of me

Female Thugs/Mercs/Ninjas - not really new sets, but I still want 'em for a few character concepts
  9. Two more shards and I'll be going Spiritual on my Inv/Stone tanker. While my endurance isn't 100% under control (yet), it's close, and it's a lot better off than my general state of recharge. I need more Seismic Smash. Lots more.
  10. Just think of it as an opportunity to clear out all those 'in progress' characters so you can fully enjoy the new toys.
  11. Summer Glau is smoking hot.
  12. Will I be moving?

Only to camp some sweet names.

    More seriously, probably not.

    DB/???

Survivability? Probably Dark, which is what my DB brute is, followed by Electric, then Fire.

Any of the 3 will be a crapton of fun though.

    Dude!
  15. Wee!

Just finished watching seasons 1-4 again and I'm really looking forward to the fifth season.
  16. Hmm... still haven't heard anything from Bullet.
  17. Free monthly server transfers. Oh how I've waited for thee!
  18. Gravity/Sonic controller. Embrace your inner gimp. Judging by your list of characters he must be lonely.

  20. I'd like to get some of my older characters to 50, more specifically Planet Smasher, but I never do. Fact is I'll get a serious bout of ADHD and altitis as soon as they turn on the double xp. I'll gain a level or 2 on a few characters, but nothing impressive. I think my personal best was 14 levels on one toon over a dxp weekend... levels 1-14 that is.

Yeah, I'm pretty terrible at the l33t xp.
  21. Name: Santa Muerte

    Origin: Mutation

Affiliations: The Benevolent Sisterhood's Shelter for Abused Women (aka the Trauma Ward)

    Archetype: Mastermind

    Powersets: Necromancy/Poison

    Height: 5'7"

    Weight: 115 lbs

    Eyes: Brown

    Hair: Black

Distinguishing Marks: Three scars along her right cheek, scratches from her dying mother.

Brief Summary: Anna's mutation allows her body to create and exude incredibly powerful toxins. Unfortunately she is unable to consciously control this power, and in turn it has killed most of her family and friends. Unable to cope with what she had done, Anna went insane and spent several years in a mental hospital. Upon witnessing her 'miraculous' ability to kill, some of the inmates took to calling her Santa Muerte (Saint Death). In her troubled mental state, she soon assumed this identity, and with it control of her powers.

Loose in the Rogue Isles, Anna is now accompanied by a legion of 'zombies', mostly former heroes and villains, who mindlessly follow her every whim.

    Conan Red Band

Well that just made my day.
  23. Well, not help for the sg name, but given your concept I would suggest picking up the Galactic Explorer badge in GC. Find all the exploration badges for an awesome badge and 5 merits. And seeing as the old Gal is getting the axe you should do it before I21 drops on top of her.
