Quote:I think the most common source of them is from AVs, probably SKed to a team running an arc.I think they can be purchased with Merits? Waste of Merits, if true.
Quote:Making money on the market with SOs is quite an idea. I'm not so sure the spreadsheet format will make progress easy to follow. Perhaps a summary can be posted in this thread, if not daily then weekly?
But, unfortunately, the people most in need of them are probably not going to see it. Oh well.
As you can see from the completed sales sheet, the additional profit isn't all that much. About 320,000 infl above what I would have made just vendoring it. -
It seems everyone is starting their own market experiment, so I decided to try my own and see what happens.
There are plenty of people out there who still use SOs, often, people who don't like the using the market. Which is unfortunate, since they're likely to get better deals on their SOs on the market.
So, I'm going to pass off the more useful SOs I get to lesser used alts and put them up on the market rather than just selling them off at the RWZ quartermaster like I'd normally do. But I want to at least break even (I'm not that altruistic), so they'll go up for the base price (as if bought new) times 0.4 (RWZ QM buys back for 40% off new prices) divided by 0.9 (to cover the market fee) rounded up to the next thousand. Basically, about 44-45% of the regular price, maximum of 27,000 (level 50+ damage or heal SO).
The SOs will then be listed on a spreadsheet on Google Docs (also see link in sig) with the exact price needed to buy it. If it stays up for more than two weeks, I'll pull it down and vendor it.
The SOs I consider useful and will be putting up are Accuracy, Damage, Endurance Red and Mod, Heal, Damage Resist, Defense and Recharge. Possibly movement types, but probably not any debuffs or mezz unless they're level 51+. If there's 10 or more of that type already up, I'll try and clear some of it out by buying them up to the sell back price and vendor the whole lot.
Click the “Items for sale” tab at the bottom to see the current inventory.
Most SOs will be around either level 33 or level 50, since those are the characters I run most often.
This experiment made much easier thanks to the OpenOffice.org2GoogleDocs extension. -
Maybe after I20 hits, when the badges become available to those who already have the hero respec badges and can't get the villain ones until then.

Quote:No. A 50++ will always have more of a bonus than a lvl 50. The actual bonus will vary depending upon the type and how far you exemp down.If a level 50 exemps down, will a lvl 50 hami have the same bonus as a 50++?

Quote:I pretty much agree with everything you say. But I was responding to Lohenien, who was also talking about crafting, not Daemodand. You've said that you've been crafting. That alone is probably the reason you're seeing a higher profit margin. For someone who wants to do the bare minimum and just make the roll and take the recipes to the market, I'd put money on that being a loss in the long run over specific purchases. Also, the OP is listing for 1, so everything's going for the highest lowball bid, which is likely bringing profits down somewhat.
Recipes are where the frugal, patient types bid. Crafted IOs are where the impatient spendaholics bid. The difference in profit margin is quite noticeable.
I am interested in how Daemodand's rolls go and waiting for the next one. -
Quote:I'm going to have to disagree with that statement. There's a lot of overstock on things like the LotG recharges and the prices have gotten pretty low. Current prices for crafted LotG at level 25 is 150-160 million (135-144 million after taxes, assuming you get good deals on salvage, subtract 5-6 million more). That's maybe 65-70 million per alignment merit. Quite a bit less than my average of 92,781,725 on rolls so far. And like I said, I've got 5 unsold IOs that are pulling that average down, including a Miracle: +Recovery that I've obviously overpriced a bit, though it's only been 4 days. The rolls will eventually even out to worse gains than specific buys.
While twenty rolls isn't a huge enough sample to work with, even my worse rolls never brought the average down below 80 mill/roll and it's often been much higher. -
When GR first came out, there was a bug of some sort that would allow this, though I never got clear info on the details. This brute could be an unplayed alt from that time.

Wasn't there another method, in which you could get both? I seem to recall on one run where one person stayed outside while everyone else ran in and clicked. The person outside would then Assemble the Team and then we'd deal with the ambushes as they came out. After that, we went back in, flew to ceiling and then dealt with Director 11 from there. Does that not work anymore?

I've got my last 20 rolls documented. I crafted nearly everything, the rolls are at level 33 and I listed at what I felt was fair pricing, sometimes a bit higher depending upon Goat Rule.
My current average net (after crafting and salvage costs and the market take) profit per roll is 92,781,725 infl. with 5 IOs still unsold, probably overpriced.
If anyone is interested, I can post the whole list, but you might consider that outside the scope of this project. -
There's no .ini file, most of the settings are kept in the registry. You can fiddle with some of the settings using TweakCoH. It's old and outdated but it still works, though it can't change some of the newer settings.

Always read the EULA, it could be worth money.

Quote:Does she have the Member of Vanguard Badge. Without that badge, you aren't supposed to get any Vanguard merits at all, though there is the occasional bugged drop and you'll still get 10 merits when someone on the team plants a bomb.Totally not the question being asked. She got merits. She got 40. I got 400. Why did I get so many more? Why did she get so few?

On Monday, I was having freezing problems. The game would load up but I couldn't even get online without it freezing even though everything was perfectly fine the night before. I even went out and bought a new video card with no change. So far the only thing that has worked was to add in "-renderthread 0" to the startup options.

Quote:If you put it in a toggle power like Integration, it will work continually while the toggle is on and stop completely when the toggle is off. There is no additional 120 seconds in a toggle. You can put it in an auto power (like Health) and the bonus will always be active. If you put it in a click Heal power (like Dull Pain) it will activate when you click the power and last for 120 seconds.

It shouldn't be any different than on any other version of windows.
From the Wiki:
"The screenshot is stored in the screenshots subdirectory of the City of Heroes application directory (C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\screenshots, unless City of Heroes was installed to a different directory)." -
It's not the GMs job to tell you game secrets. It's their job to help you when the game becomes unplayable for you due to bugs and such. This is pretty much standard through MMOs.

Yes, this is the tactic Protector has used on it's many robot rampages (search the web for video). In some cases, I've had a bot held for up to a month before finally logging in on that character and spawning the ambush.

Quote:Yes, yes it can.Experiment time. Go vigilante, get the mission. Pocket D then head redside. Can Kronos be spawned in the Rogue Isles?

Quote:Previous post on gaining multiple shards with single kill.First, I cannot help but think that the fewer players on your team that are 50 and can get shards the greater your chance is of getting more shards. Playing on an ITF team with 4 50’s and 4 less than 50 players I can walk away with 12 maybe even 15 shards, but playing with a team of 8 50 all looking for shards I might only get 5 or 6 shards. I know this is mind remembering the events that turned out very well for me, but I’ve seen it happen again and again.

Quote:This. I just took a character that didn't have it (too low to even get the badge that allows you to collect Vanguard merits) and it shows up on the workbench as long as you don't have the Hide "Recipes missing ingredients" checked. You should be able to see it on the list even if you don't have the merits for it, assuming you haven't bought it. Just be sure the toggle for (something like) "Only purchaseable items" is off. It's on a drop-up/down on the lower right of the purchase window.
My characters that do have it, it doesn't show up for them. -
Quote:D'oh. I was originally going to post 4 hours, but I had no clue where I was pulling that number from. It was right there in front of my face all along.Acc'd to the top of the leader board it says it updates every 4 hours, but I think something might be bugged right now.
I'd say post on their Badge verification forum and ask what's up. -
A few years ago, a player did a *lot* of testing on this. The post has long since been purged, but I saved the info on the Wiki talk page for Kronos, as well as a bit of testing I did.
Babbage, also, can be spawned elsewhere, but seems to have more limitations. For example, a few years ago when Protector did one of their Robot Rampages, we had about 15 Kronos's piled up in FF, but none of the Babbages we had ready would spawn there. The 2 or 3 Babbages I had ready only spawned when I went to other zones.
