trials/ respecs Perhaps cos the only trial we get are RESPECS oh well my fault for misquoting but who cares still know wat i meant and the point still stands
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, we needed to tease out what you meant via half a dozen posts that would otherwise have been unnecessary, but as long as you don't care I guess that's OK. -
[ QUOTE ]
I point to Paragon wiki with reference to trials!
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, no, you don't; this points at the wiki reference to trials.
If you meant "more trials for villains" in your earlier post, fair enough - you said "more respec options" though, which is a different thing altogether. -

OH and more respec options too BTW!
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry, don't follow that one - the villain respec options are pretty well matched to the hero ones already.
[/ QUOTE ]
Villains have one extra don't they, via the Patrons one?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd confidently say "sort of" - IMHO the Patron TF's more an incidental benefit for running the arc than an end in itself. And, unlike "real" respec runs, it's only given to the mission holder.
There's the free SoA respec at 20 too, so again while it's not exactly a trial the villains are ahead. -

Thank'ee one and all!
And it is turning out to be a rather good cake day; only two of us made it into the office through the snow, and one large chocolate cake to take care of! -

What is going on with these constant threads about profanity?
[/ QUOTE ]
Um, has there been another one in the last 6 months? Another two? -

some kind of Veteran Reward perhaps
[/ QUOTE ]
Would be way to big an advantage to veterans.
Anyway, we are up to 63 months now.
My power pool idea was something like this:
Advanced Training Pool:
1) 2 extra enhancement slots
2) 2 extra enhancement slots
3) 2 extra enhancement slots
4) 2 extra enhancement slots
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd like that as an option, especially (as others have said) for Khelds.
I can see it causing confusion for exemping though; at present no slots are lost if you exemp down, but enhancement bonuses may be reduced.
If 2 of your slots are there because you took a pool pick at (say) level 26, what happens if you exemp down to level 20?
If the slots vanish, because they're from a power you no longer have at the lower level, you might lose access to critical enhs (KB Prot, say, or most of your S/L shield slotting). That's assuming the devs add the extra info for which slot came from where, of course, as at the moment there's no history stored on when slots were placed.
If the slots don't vanish, then things are a bit unbalanced, as the character would be keeping the benefit from slotted enhs while a pick from any other pool would be unavailable after exemping. -
Not 100% sure this will pay off, but if you've installed in the standard C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\ location try looking in:
C:\Users\<your_account>\AppData\Local\Virtua lStore\Program Files\City of Heroes\
Vista uses this area as a "faked writable" directory for any files non-Vista-friendly apps try to write to their own directories. -

Found this on the US boards that backs up the point:
this what happened in the last game i played SS/WP hackers ruined it for everyone hittin mobs and not always dyin and just anything to cheat there no extened maintenance there trying to catch the SS/WP hackersand we pay for it so unless people don't let board moderators know of troll poster's in the forum it we ruin it and there we not be a COH FORUM IT WELL BE GONE TO THE MOGHEDIENS!!!!!!!

Clearly incorrect cause YOU say so ?
SS/WP just needs to be datamined, before the devs do that, neither mine NOR your statements are right or wrong.
Dual accounts cant be proven, neither by you nor by me, i just said what i saw ingame.
Cox easier than all other mmorpg is proven wrong.
There are some few easier games but many harder ones.
Mobs used to be stronger cant be proven by me since they deleted old posts from US forum, but every dev can tell you that i am right.
Fact is neither me, NOR you can prove all of this without devs help.
I might be wrong on some things so might you. :-)
[/ QUOTE ]
Nice try, but I'm not biting! -

[ QUOTE ]
There once was a time when mobs used to be much harder than they are now.
[/ QUOTE ]When was that? Back before ED when tanks could herd an entire map so the rest of the team could blast then to shreds by the door? They certainly haven't changed the power level of standard mobs since issue 6 and I doubt that they have been made easier before then. I certainly haven't found any patch notes that say as much.
Of course if you have some solid proof that what you say is true (not: "a SG mate said...") then maybe you would have a point.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've been largely staying out of this thread (and its "Nerf SS/WP!" twin) because trying to pin down Moghedien on an argument is like trying to nail jelly to the wall.
Get close to something that'd force him to concede he was wrong on some specific and he'll shoot off at a tangent, throw something else that's clearly incorrect in (or at best unprovable - e.g. SS/WP "datamining", dxp weekend dual boxing farmers, CoX is easier than other MMOs, only Ill/Rad controllers can solo GMs, mobs used to be much harder...), and off things go in the new direction.
It's impressive in a way, and very entertaining to read, but in the interests of my blood pressure I'll mostly continue to lurk. -
Presumably Cognito, although I don't think he was actually swayed by the OP. He just happened to be leaning in the same direction already.
-
You know, I bet until you started this thread that hadn't even occurred to them.

[ QUOTE ]
Maybe someone can explain to me why those aoes with small radius to start with and no secondary effects to speak of needed nerfing while Footstomp seems to be ok for the devs ?
[/ QUOTE ]
If devs have made changes, they're the ones to offer any explanation they think's needed. Anything players might say would be educated guesses at best, random speculation at worse.
[ QUOTE ]
All in patch notes of today.
[/ QUOTE ]
Real patch notes of today, or imaginary ones? Link, please.
Edit, after seeing various replies. So you're looking at a series of small fixes from last week, as announced in the login dialog, and referring to it as today's patch note on a nerf to aoes? As with the "datamining" you referred to earlier, which turned out to be a player opinion in the forums, you need to get your terminology straight - if you want people to take things seriously.
Re. edit: Edited edit! -
If the euro prices are meant to hold place against anything, it's the dollar.
Are you paying more euros for slots than you were before? -

3. People will naturally gravitate towards more powerful sets (dont even try to deny it).
[/ QUOTE ]
They gravitate towards sets they think are more powerful, because they see other people playing it and ask about it, or they read threads on the forums whining about how overpowered a certain set is.
Don't try to tell me that /WP is defensively stronger than /Stone, or has better aoe damage than fire/fire, and how many have noticed that with the issue 13 buffs to Dark Melee just how powerful Dark/SR can be?
[/ QUOTE ]
Good point, I stand corrected. People will gravitate towards sets they think are powerful.
Not "people" meaning you specifically. Or me, come to that. But the population as a whole will tend to grvitate towards perceived powerful sets (other factors come into play too of course)/
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, I won't either. It's those damn [u]people[u] causing all the problems. -
[ QUOTE ]
Let's remove all powersets. Brawl only.
[/ QUOTE ]
Okaaaay, but only as long as you're not allowed to slot it.
6 slotted brawl is way overpowered. -
[ QUOTE ]
Unbalanced games are no fun at least imo.
[/ QUOTE ]
Definitely an "imo" thing; for example it doesn't worry me in the slightest that someone else might be levelling faster elsewhere with some magic build. If I'm having fun with my own toon, that's that.
[ QUOTE ]
Why have other sets apart from nice looks, when they are so much worse?
And as i said i got a SS/Wp and like 10 other 50 brutes, 3 of them SS and 2 WP, thats why i know what they play like.
[/ QUOTE ]
If 90+% of your brutes aren't SS/WP, and 50+% don't use any of the "uber" sets at all, you can probably answer the "why play other sets?" question for yourself.
Edit:
[ QUOTE ]
Btw this thread had very many replies in a short time, most likely all SS/Wp players.....
I doubt that if the thread was Fire/Dark or any other combo, there would have been half as many replies if any at all.
Godd indicator how many ppl play SS/Wp :-)
[/ QUOTE ]
So people really only disagree with you because they're selfish? There couldn't possibly be any other reason?
Riiiiiight. -
[ QUOTE ]
It's crazy, why the hell does it cost so much for a small database change?
[/ QUOTE ]
1) Seller's market; if you need it, you've got to pay their price and that's that.
2) Shifting exchange rate against the pond. Erm, pound. If UK prices weren't changed to match, US players would complain that our prices had effectively become cheaper than they were. -
[ QUOTE ]
it's how the money rate is, and the pond is now close to the euro so it's reasonable.
[/ QUOTE ]
You mean "pound". Actually, perhaps you were right first time... -
[ QUOTE ]
2 changes badly needed in team search.
1) Team leaders should be starred
2) People on full teams or TFs should be flagged as such
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed, with minor revision. -
[ QUOTE ]
I had a filler ask me to join them, then they immediately hit the invite button before i'd responded. IMO, that's very rude too. At least give me a chance to say no. (thanks).
[/ QUOTE ]
You're politer than me; my ice blaster (team message: "Tells before invite greatly appreciated") got a "want to team?" tell while standing in Wentworths last night.
Well, I didn't, as I was just about to do the last mish in a Midnighters arc, but as they'd sent a tell I thought I'd respond in kind and was just starting to type a "Sorry, about to..." reply when the same person sent an actual invite. Cue cancellation of the tell, and immediate press of the "No" button.
A few minutes later the guy sent another tell, but the mangling bug clipped it down to a single "y"...who knows what he'd said. -

i don't like this game for how it is, i only want to play the widow, nothing els.
if i knew this would happen, i would never bought this game.

But you were playing more than 3 months before I12 (and the widows) was launched...

He probably wanted to build the excitement

Had Widows even been announced in February?

HEATs had been out for ages then, and they need a 50 to unlock. That VEATs were the same shouldn't have been a heartbreaking surprise.
