Vista question

I wasn't sure about where to put this Thread, so it's up to you GR to move it to a more appropiate place... well, my question is about taking screenshots using Vista; just bought a new laptop with Vista Home Basic as OS, and I wanted to know how I can take screenshots as I used to do in my previous XP Professional computer, by pressing "Del" as I used to do, and even saving them in My Documents by pressing "Del" and then opening "Paint". Any suggestions or ideas?

Not 100% sure this will pay off, but if you've installed in the standard C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\ location try looking in:

C:\Users\<your_account>\AppData\Local\Virtua lStore\Program Files\City of Heroes\

Vista uses this area as a "faked writable" directory for any files non-Vista-friendly apps try to write to their own directories.

When you're not in CoH, the "Print Screen" key will do what you want.

CoH changes the behaviour of this key. It causes it to take a screen shot and save it straight away. I can't remember where exactly. I think it goes in a directory called "Screenshots" under your CoH installation directory.

By default CoH hides the user interface in screenshots but there's an option to include it if you want.

Already knew of Screenshots folder, the point is that, after pressing "Del" a few times now using Vista Basic, there's no Screenshots folder in my CoH directory, as it happened when running it under XP Professional... maybe there's any keymapping option that I haven't found yet?

Have you installed CoH in the defailt location - The updater sometimes seems to change this under Vista

Try checking Local Disk (C --> Program Files --> City of Heroes --> Screenshots

Thats where mine go even though the game is installed on a different drive. Also the default key is Print Screen not Del

Mind of Gaia lvl 50 Defiant's first Mind/Storm 'troller.

and lots more on Pinnacle,Union and Defiant

Why would you be using the Delete key? Try using the PrtScrn (Print Screen) key. You might find it works a bit better...

What he said...also you won't find a screenshots folder in the coh folder because there isn't one......yet.
It makes the folder after you take your first screenshot with "Prt Scr"

What annoys me greatly is that I used to be able to use print screen when logging on, character selection screen and when I'm at the tailor, to get really good screenshots of my alts.

..and, boo, hoooh, can't do that anymore...

If CoX doesnt save a screenshot on pressing Print Screen then that screenshot should be copied to system clipboard (the default behaviour of Print Screen). So, alt-tab to MSPaint, Edit->Paste and it should be there.

I do not suffer from altitis, I enjoy every character of it.

I think I've solved my little problem, just changed the keymapping a bit, now I use another key and my screenshots are as they used to be.
