    October? Geez, what'll it take to get you guys to come around to Virtue more often. We need more tanker love!

    Isn't part of the point of Freedom to lure back old players - even the trial players?

    I'll one up you: Fusionette from the end of the universe.

    EDIT: Or heck, here and now Fusionette.
  4. More on Fury: At lowbie levels, half a fury bar unslotted for damage will give you slightly less damage than a scrapper with three training damage IOs. It might not seem much, but at low levels its damn nice to have.

    Oh, and War Mace and Super Strength hand you Extreme Damage attacks along with pretty much all the single target attacks you'll need at level 8. (Mental note: Check WM on scraps once Beta Server returns from napping. Katana on broots too.)

    But basically, if you like jumping right into mobs, flailing away madly, and shouting with laughter like Heavy Weapons Guy, brute is your class. Or a shield scrapper. If you like a bit more finesse and high-performance but still want to get in and get dirty, that's the other scrappers.

The letter-writer shows a bit too much humility and compassion (in his own way) for players and indeed quite a bit of trust in that you won't simply walk over to Silos and say "Hey, look at what I found in a crate in the past!" and have him go "Oh, THAT guy! Then I know how to find him."
    Erg, that's true. Guess I'm back to default answer one then: Nemesis plot.
  6. My placeholder Junkyard Collie is becoming the WM/WP heroic brute Junkyard Collie. No Street Justice, no problem, I'm finding mace to the face a fun enough set on its own.
  7. It means I just had to pop Build-Up and wait four more seconds to drop an EB's health by at least half. If we shorten that wait time I might think everyone might take Stalkers a little more seriously.

    If we're talking animations, I have a NB and an ElM and I often team with a DB, so I haven't really seen much yet in the way of animations that make me go 'really?'
  8. something something Nemesis plot something something

    OK, if that doesn't have you hitting something in frustration, perhaps it really is Prometheus? He does like to give gifts of fire...
  9. In between VG/SG events, real life, and beta testing...

    Silentsurge: 18 -> 23
    Glamburgler: 16 -> 24
    Death Wish Upon A Star: 12 -> 16
    Blade of 1000 Deaths: 31 -> 33

    And the winner: Rose Wonder went from 6 to 28 before I started hallucinating Haymakers. At least she's in a good position for Tanker Tuesday tomorrow night.
  10. Fire/Fire/Fire Blaster all the way. If you're looking for something a little more exotic, however, I highly recommend the Fire/Fire/Fire Brute. Either way, everything's on fire.

    Everything.

I really want to have my homage at some point, just not too enthused about doing her up proper as an Inv/SS when I have my broot.
    As a follow up, I found the urge to have a Golden Age hero was too much. I deleted Raizo Tanaka and went ahead and re-created her as an Inv/SS. I'm feeling much better about her thanks to the initial random color generator giving me a striking base color which lead to her new name:

    So if you want 'Miss Thunderstrike' or 'Raizo Tanaka', they're all yours. And if you could use a lowbie tank on your team, send me a tell. I've heard good things about Inv tanks!

  17. Miss Thunderstrike: SS/SD brute and my homage to Mary Marvel. I really want to have my homage at some point, just not too enthused about doing her up proper as an Inv/SS when I have my broot.

    Opposite Force: Inv/SS tank and Primal Earth countepart to my Praetorian Kin/SR scrap, Officer Newton. She was a mutant child of Crey employees, so of course they fast tracked her right into the company. Deleted her once my SS/Inv got rolling and I realized trying to use the Infiltrator look with the mini-miniskirt was setting off my bad taste sensors. I really dug the name, though, so I blew $10 to use it on the scrap.

    Sewer Avenger: SD/WM tank, sanitation worker who turned into a hooded toxic avenger type after a few too many dunks in the Atlas Park sewers. Seriously, can you imgaine what gets dumped down there? Deleted after a couple levels, wasn't too impressed with concept or costume even if it sounded nifty.

    Operative Gunny: SOLDIER OF ARACHNOS, JACKWAGON! May bring him back at some point, as I hear Banes are really nifty.

    Raizo Tanaka: Thugs/Poison MM, currently on hiatus as I never got his concept beyond 'slick-looking Yakuza'. Hesitant to nuke him as he's holding on to a couple anniversary badges.

    Balladeer: Dark/Dark scrapper and country music singer who hit all the wrong chords, thus summong dark necrotic powers. He's also currently on hiatus until I wrap my mind around rolling with a Dark/Dark, and pick up a couple Toby Keith albums.

    .. Geez, there's a lot more than I thought I'd write about.
  18. My turn: I brought Blood Widow Ricki in at first, and things went smoothly but it just wasn't clicking with her. I had planned to switch over to Kometstryke at some point, once Muppy started giving the widows dirty looks I figured that was as good a time as any. I apologize over any mentions of 'free beer' but it was a spur of the moment reason for why there is a honkin' huge Destroyer wandering into the shindig. And once she got rolling I really had a blast, mainly thanks to Muppy and Operative Russkie and especially Cid. I even got to explore a bit of her lost childhood.

    So, I for one had fun actually roleplaying, and I again apologize if Komet brushed anyone the wrong way.

    Well, yeah, I knew that. Its not like capes are in high demand, y'know! 'Advertiser' just sounded better than 'the player who came up with this ad'.
  21. My tank is off to see Detective Westbrush, so I'm cruisin' Skyway City and what do I see on my way there:

    As Seen On TV! Truly epic win.

    ... Would it be so wrong to ask for /em clanket?
  22. Captain Castillo: Why you have summoned me and my well-tailored uniform to fight such unworthy opponents? ... Say, is that reflection of me I see in armor? Oh, who is most handsome of air pirates~?

    Honoree: Was taking: Nap. Must ask: Lady Grey: Better accommodations than cramped canister.

    Frostfire: Me? Really? Me?

    Lady Jane: I'm just going to run ahead and aggro every mob I find. Bye!

    Ms. Liberty: Don't mind me, I'm just going to stand here and look magnificent while everyone else fights around me.

    Frostfire: No, really? Me?

    Tyrant: The things I do to fund my war machine. Very well, where are the rebel scu- er- I mean, the targets?
  23. Also:

    I've run Praetoria solo with a brute and two scrappers, and mostly teamed my way through with a corr. A lot of other concept never made it past 10. It is a tough road, but I've found it a faster and more engrossing method to get to 20 than the blue and redside paths. Its just trickier to run with squishier builds.

    Also also:

    $40? Wowzers! Thanks, VK!
  24. I've used the ITF WST to get at least two of my 50s to that final ding. Ferret got his this last go around. There's nothing quite like plowing through hordes of Cims and then watching the XP circle spin around one last time when Rommy falls.
  25. I second the approval of the second screenshot. Not as much the first one, the background is a little too much. Unless Death himself is an NPC wandering around asking 'PARDON ME, BUT I AM LOOKING FOR A TAMMY ARCANUS.'

    ... Hold on, I've just got my wager in for the dead pool.
