If I had to rate MoG's usefulness, I'd put at about a 9/10 at worst. It's a phenomenal power. Look at it this way. If you regenerate 30 hp/sec (you should regen -at least- that much), MoG gives you 15 seconds of straight regeneration where you're almost guaranteed to not be damaged. That's practically a 450 HP heal. Of course, with IO's and whatnot, you'll be sporting around 50 hp/sec which is a 750 HP heal.
It's a beautiful power. Please take it. -
And I'm sure that quite a lot of people would be grateful for this, except that this new PvP is considerably harder to get into than pre-i13 PvP. When someone who has never walked into a PvP zone before has all of their defenses/resists nearly halved, do far less damage to squishies than they figured they would, get mezzed even with mez protection, have their greens heal less the more they use them, and have their travel powers cease to work when they make any sort of action other than movement, it's hard for the new PvP'ers to get into PvP. You know that PvP is going to be hard to learn when Ice doesn't slow an enemy any more than Fire does and Fire doesn't do as much damage as Archery.

See Diminishing Returns. Yea, I know. It pissed on all of us, except for maybe the Blasters. You'll need at least 35 KB protection if you want to be safe from Levitate.

Quote:First of all, I'd appreciate it if you didn't call me a kid. Secondly, I don't think I've ever addressed you before this, so calm down. I was merely pointing out how FC continues whether people try to interrupt it or not. Did I ever get "raged"? No, in fact I'm remaining quite cordial even though I was ignorantly attacked and insulted for reasons yet to be revealed. I feel an apology from you is warranted. ThanksThis is exactly why we are increasing the numbers of our active patrols! Perhaps you would like to help us out, citizen! We could make you a junior detective; that way, you and other dumb kids who take my posts seriously and get raged-err... I mean... you and other young sleuths- could fight crime at the side of the most elite crime fighting organization earth has ever seen!

Ah, well that's true. I guess I don't think too much about it because I'm generally on my Scrapper and while even an EM/ won't kill him, I'd much rather fight an Elec Melee than an Energy Melee Stalker. He can survive BU + AS + Placate + TS, and once an Elec/ Stalker has burned through that chain, he doesn't have anything left as a big hitter.
So that is true about killing squishies. But still, both are far and away the best primaries. -
Well for one, you want as much +HP and +Recharge as possible. Do not slot for any +defense, it's a waste; I promise. Getting Tough is useful (Resistence works for a /Regen in PvP, but not defense), but the Leadership Pool is useful too. If you build for +HP, you can get around 1850 HP, which is great for a Regen Scrapper.
Most will tell you to slot 3 Performance Shifters. I have Stamina and Quick Recovery slotted with Eff Adap for the combined 2.26% HP bonus.
Also, get Weapon or Body epic. Dark is very, very situational and the Hold is useless for the most part. Weapon gives you TD and Webnade, with Webnade being the biggie. I chose Body and I cannot tell you how much Laser Beam Eyes has helped me get kills. I'd say 35-45% of my kills are from LBE tagging a runner. It deals solid damage in PvP, too. I 6-slotted mine; 5 Ragnorak (not the Dam/End) and the Achilles Heel -res proc. It does good damage and debuffs defense as well as sometimes debuffing resistence.
You only need to 2 slot BU with Recharge IO's; DR hits ToHit buffs hard and you won't be having too much trouble hitting anyway.
But really, seeing your build would be most helpful. -
I don't disagree with you much, mac, but I gotta disagree here. I'd say Energy Melee is the best primary for Stalkers. It has 3 huge hitters: AS, Total Focus, and Energy Transfer. I think it's better than Elec/ for sure. But Elec/ is the 2nd best.
Other than that, I completely agree with Mac on the rest. A lot of Stalkers like /Regen, but often times I see /WP outperform it. -
If you can't get the build posted, tell me what problems you're having with it now. What needs "fixing"?

This is certainly awkward. Some info on me:
I play on Freedom, and mostly play on my main hero, Amadaeis, a Fire/Regen Scrapper. I'm a consistent PvP'er and know about many things related to PvP, for Scrappers and other AT's. I can help somewhat with PvE builds, but I specialize in PvP builds.
If you have any questions regarding PvP, whether it be Scrappers or not, feel free to ask or shoot me a PM. -
Really, I've never been threatened by a single Stalker while on my Scrapper, and usually 2 of them can't beat my Scrapper, either. Generally takes 3 or more Stalkers to take him down.

SoW is nowhere, and I mean nowhere, close to the level of MoG. If your health is dropping quickly, SoW is not going to save you like MoG will. Truthfully, MoG is the most unkillable you can get (outside of phase, etc). SoW is more of a "hmm, this could be a rough mob. Let me pop SoW" power. MoG is a "woops, to close to death. Now I'm completely unkillable for 15 seconds".
It's also worth noting that you can get Reconstruction down to the teens in recharge. So during that time that MoG is down, Reconstruction will be back up and heal you of a lot of damage. Ah, and let's say I don't want to use Reconstruction while MoG is down. My Scrapper heals about 60 hp/sec without DP or IH. So for those 15 seconds of god-mode where my Scrapper practically cannot take any damage, I'm also healing 60 hp/sec. So by the time MoG is done, I've gotten nearly 900 damage healed, and likely don't need to use Reconstruction again.
Not to mention that in 15 seconds where I don't have to even worry about my health bar, I can focus purely on whoever did that to me and probably kill them in 15 seconds.
MoG is a beautiful power and often looked over. When we talk about the great regen nerfs, we often forget how much of a buff MoG got. -
Ehhh, it won't be too good. Better than SR out of Elude (a lot better), but not very good. Broadsword has very good damage, but SD is a defense-based primary, which just doesn't do well in PvP. I've seen a few SD/ Tankers do well in RV, though.

Seriously, what are you doing? Not having anything in your post other than a build is quite pointless.
Either way, pie is better than cake. Apple Pie > anything. -
Yea, I'll accept a duel if someone is just so high on their horses that they think the only way I can keep killing them is if I stay on my team. So I go kill them solo to make them shut up, then go back to my team and I resume killing our targets. It's usually some silly Brute who's new to PvP and thinks that his or her softcapped SS/WP is going to be as dominant in PvP as it was in PvE.

Your biggest problem that I see is that you're going to get thrown around like crazy from Mind/ Doms and their Levitate.

On teams, Scrappers slightly outperform Stalkers in damage. Generally speaking, Scrappers have much more AoE's. Also, Scrappers have a higher melée damage scalar, meaning outside of Hide, Scrappers are doing more damage than Stalkers. However, Stalkers crit more on teams so that evens it out (or tips the scales in the Stalkers). But then you just need to go back to the fact that Scrappers have more AoE capabilities to tip it back in the Scrapper's favor.
Solo, it's about the same. Stalkers can take down hard targets without any problems whatsoever. AS, a few attacks, placate, AS again, and the foe should be dead by then. Or close. But Stalkers can't handle the bundles of enemies that Scrappers can.
They're very different AT's, to me. One is a fighter meant to, well, scrap. The other is a shocktrooper whose purpose is to take down the biggest threat with an ease that makes other AT's jealous. -
*gasp*
It's like the first time I ever saw the Loch Ness Monster! -
But don't some procs have a greater chance to go off than just 10%?
-
That statement is too absolute. It can outperform a Fire/Rad, especially against a Fire-based AV.
-
That depends on multiple variables, including the Scrapper's primary, HP, regen rate, and pool powers.
