Exactly.
Also... when a level 50 Tanker asks where he can find City Hall... when he's standing under Atlas... and not 5 minutes later another 50 asks if he's supposed to buy his cape at Wentworths... you realize it's gone beyond absurd. These people haven't PLAYED. Instead they stood around while someone else played.
This isn't Guild Wars. The level-cap PvP is limited to two places: RV, and the Arena. Everything else you can get to WHILE you're leveling up.
Now, granted, a lot of folks do want to skip to the end, especially those that have already leveled a 50 or two, or more, 'the hard way'... but even that doesn't take all that long, really. Get on a good superteam and do TF's every weekend, get to 50 in a couple of months. Get with a good SG and team ANY character to 50 in about that time. Plus you'll meet fun people and actually learn how to play your characters.
That's what bugs me about the uberfarming. It's turning out characters at the level cap, with players who are still stuck in Outbreak trying to figure out how to find a waypoint.
But I don't care anymore how y'all play. Just stop spamming, please. It's totally immersion-breaking. Thank you. -
... funny, I've had the "console" enabled since this was announced, so far I can't seem to get past "Starting Game".
Then this big ugly GUI pops up and obscures the thing. If I bring it to the fore, it won't take my cursor.
... wait, what? -
...why? Go read the Announcements section, loads and loads of publicity on this event, the new studio name, the Steam launch... Same goes for the COH front page.
Not Marketing's fault if, you know, you didn't read it. -
(QR) Any idea when the Mission Teleport icon will be fixed? Or if anyone has an alternative?
(I was thinking the signage from Portal would work... but... yeah.) -
I tried to go for the 'blue skin' with Bitter December, but it didn't work out. Suichiro's right, it does need more contrast between the skin and the costume, even if they're the same basic hue.
I'd actually second the recommendation of getting the costume portion as close as you can to the ice sword coloring. Of course, if it looks crappy, you can always back out of the Costume editor...
as for the "we saw, we came, we froze/melted/sunk the city"... next time, PPV event please? -
Beautifully done.
I want stuff from him too! but no monies!!! -
I'll throw in Annular Eclipse.
Warshade -- pair with Huntress as a fellow Council "hunter"
From Wikipedia:
[ QUOTE ]
An annular eclipse occurs when the Sun and Moon are exactly in line, but the apparent size of the Moon is smaller than that of the Sun. Hence the Sun appears as a very bright ring, or annulus, surrounding the outline of the Moon.

Dorcas Sheridan was a court reporter assigned to the Paragon City Munincipal Court System. She was assigned to a deposition hearing for a Council Galaxy Archon whose resident Nictus was having a 'crisis of conscience'. During the proceedings, a cadre of Council stormed the room, fatally wounding the Archon; Dorcas took a stray round in the thigh and was unable to leave the room.
The Nictus inhabiting the Archon, realizing hir host was about to expire despite hir efforts at healing the damage, vacated the body and approached Dorcas to plead hir case - that shi needed a vessel or would perish hirself within moments. Dorcas saw that the being was in earnest about renouncing hir past misdeeds and allegiance to Arakyn, and the two decided on a full merging, instead of a temporary 'occupation'. This unlocked the Nictus's full potential as a Warshade.
To ensure that "Andromeda" can still give hir testimony, the combined being still uses both identities as Dorcas Sheridan and as Andromeda. Her hero identity is "Annular Eclipse". -
Funkyeti is another interesting artist with a definite horror theme. He has a more campy spin on things.

Hamster is the reason why I turned my back on the Victory forums... and also migrated my main and two others off the server to Virtue at first opportunity. -

Protip: Shakespeare wrote his plays for the unwashed masses of England who didn't know [censored] about literature. And yet, he's considered one of the greatest writers of all time.
[/ QUOTE ]
He wrote for everyone. The high tragedy/comedy was for the nobles, while the pratfalls and bad humor was for the 'peanut gallery' standing in front of the stage.
He also adapted much of his work from existing stories/myths/historical accounts. Thus the word "playwright", or "one who builds plays", just as a shipwright builds ships. Writing was only a small part. Of course he was also a venerated poet, which definitely helped, especially with all the double meanings, alliteration, et cetera. -
forums are running into problems again... I'm getting 503 "Too Busy, come back later" when trying to reply.

Still seeing some of the subtopics losing their parent groups.
Which means you have to click on "Main Index" or use the Jump at the bottom of the page to navigate out of these sections. -
I think one of the devs (pohsyb?) mentioned a cap on tickets per mission. However, that cap was supposed to be ridiculously high "so that a single player would have to defeat everything on a map scaled for eight" to reach it.
That... sounds familiar. -
Nope. You're limited to ellipsis (...) in the actual line.
<shatner>There's..... something on the wing!!</shatner> -
Exactly.
Once the icons are in your tray, you can edit them like any macro.
But, if you know you want one from the Pet display (say, from your Protector Bots), set them, and then drag into place. Done.

I much prefer using the number pad keybinds method:
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showf...n=0&page=0
I can't imagine playing an MM without these! I love the level of control over my pets that I have with this option, from issuing orders to all pets at once to giving specific orders to just one pet.
I've been in team situations, for example, where a secondary battle was occuring outside where the main fight was going on and I was easily able to send one or two pets to assist the secondary battle while keeping the rest directly on me to fight the main group. I can put my pets EXACTLY where I want them without fear of them running wild, and I can quickly rope them in if I do send them off to prevent them from aggroing random groups.
The granular nature of the keybinds really maximizes your tactical options when deploying your pets as an MM.
[/ QUOTE ]
I tried using the numpad keybinds... and my hand came off the mouse.
I admit it, I'm a clicker. I'm also a "Saturation fire" type of person. If someone in the group starts a fight that's off to the side from where the artillery's going... it's their problem, or I'll get to it when MY spawn is down. If I break a bot or two off the main group, then that's less AoE damage downrange.
But that's more a playstyle philosophy than anything - I tend to keep the troops in "bodyguard" as often as possible, then 'bait' the spawns into attacking something (an acid mortar or a pair of seekers) and this usually triggers the bots into returning fire while the spawn is still fairly well clumped. I'll even fire off potshots with the laser rifle to pull mobs into an artillery barrage.
But for those people who don't mind standing still or are amazing with keybinds, binding your numpad to your pets is an amazing thing.
