Looking for Horror-specializing Artists
Yeah, Graver first came to mind
Yeah, it depends what you mean by "horror". If you mean blood and guts, that's one thing. If you mean moody and dark, that's another.
More moody and dark, something in line with the covers from the John Ostrander/Tom Mandrake run on "The Spectre".

(Ostrander and Mandrake were on board for Volume 3)
Moody and dark is fun. I've done a few pieces with the heavy blacks and sparse light. Check out my gallery!
Graver is great - I love my commissions I got from him. But another you might look at, and the first piece to pop to mind, was this piece by Cryptcrawler.
Edit: In case you're not as familiar with navigating that site, click his name next to the piece title to go to his main page and look for his gallery linked there.

Yes, Cryptcrawler is fantastic and a great dude.
Cryptcrawler was actually one of the first people I got ahold of, back when I initially wanted to scratch this particular itch; his "With my father's sword..." is what sealed it for me. Thanks for the reminder, I'll hit him up.
Funkyeti is another interesting artist with a definite horror theme. He has a more campy spin on things.
His take on Baroness Samedi
"City of Heroes. April 27, 2004 - August 31, 2012. Obliterated not with a weapon of mass destruction, not by an all-powerful supervillain... but by a cold-hearted and cowardly corporate suck-up."
That would certainly be a different, albeit interesting route. Thanks Soul.
(btw, ran your Origin arc; really good "read", well written and the...shoot, the boyfriend guy, forgot his name, was a well-crafted character )
Hey folks...I've got a hankering to get some commissions of my "other main", Baron Midnight, and I thought I'd ask the community at large if they knew of anyone who was adept at horror-themed pieces. I've dug around on DA a bit, but many pairs of eyes are better than one!
I'm waiting patiently for my time to come in Graver's queue, so that's one down, but in the meantime, if anyone knows of any other folks whose talents lie in the macabre, I'd be grateful to hear about it.
Thanks in advance, folks!
