This certainly makes me glad I don't play squishies anymore.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Try an Ill/Rad controller, if you haven't already. Mine beat up Malta nicely (along with most everything else).

    [/ QUOTE ]

    As does my Ill/Kin...

I always had luck with D3s against Malta, too. They can't mez what they can't hit...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Funny thing about my Elec^3 blaster... only the SAPPERS are resistant to end drain. Malta Gunslinger boss has a hold? I have THREE. Two ranged... and one melee. Oh... and then there's the PbAoE Stun -Regen -End -Recovery of EMP.

"Darling... that's not a taser. THIS... is a taser!" ZZZZRAPPP!!!

And they don't seem to have too much resistance to psychic energy either. Psychic Mastery EPP on a Kin/Energy def = sleeping Sappers and locked-up Titans. Then you can debuff and end-drain them easily. Hee!
  2. I wonder how much Chip Foose would charge to do a custom illustration for you...

I can say this: I got GREAT results on illustrations featuring a motorcycle from Brandon McKinney, Sorah Suhng, and Meshsmoother (all on DA). I gave them each screenies of the Suzuki Hayabusa, and they all incorporated the bike into the illustrations very well (altho' Sorah said she 'wasn't sure how it came out'...)

    You decide

    QR

Yay, more nerfherding disguised by semantics.

I'mma go play That Other Game, their forums are friendlier.

    Wha? I can dream, can't I?

Now I know why my dream didn't have any of them in it. You pre-booked all of them.

    Hi sweet thangs!
  7. I15 isn't out yet.

It's not even on test yet.

As for a zone-wide mapserver... what server were you on, and when? There have been instances where Freedom and Virtue will go from "yellow" to "locked" and boot a bunch of people off. This has been going on since, oh... the Double XP weekend BEFORE last (before the holiday events).
  8. No it doesn't. It doesn't give a rating at all.

Clicking the single star, and then clicking it AGAIN, gives the 0/5 star rating.
  9. ... amend that. Since Geek_Boy has seen fit to post a comment/review in public, and dissect it?

Not only will I not comment on his arcs, I refuse to RATE them, period. I might play them for the tix, but there's no way I'm feeding an ego that big. No way, uh uh.
  10. If an arc is unplayable due to patch woes... it should be flagged so that it doesn't show up in the search options AND a note sent to the email address of record.

That is the true reason why this game will die when Champions Online comes out.

From what I (may or may not) have seen of CO so far?

CoH/V has NOTHING to fear in that regard.
  12. ... I think the griefers are laughing at y'all. Instead of sticking to the original premise, you're arguing WITH EACH OTHER in regards to what kind of ratings and critiques you should get, or who from.

Also, since arc comments are delivered via PM, they are considered private between the player and the author. I believe reposting PM's between two players to the forum is considered poor taste; this is likewise rather gauche.

I know that I'll have to carefully consider whose arc I leave comments on, at any rate. Since Geek_Boy's friends seem to think it's alright, his arcs won't be getting any from me. Sorry man, I'm sure you'd like to know why I liked or didn't like your work, but ... yeah.
  13. Jones Sodas, yes.

Altho' I have a weakness for cherry colas. I'll even mix my own using maraschino cherries in a pinch.

  14. ... I'm going to choose to NOT respond to this post in the manner I was thinking of originally... and instead smile and wink at Vivace, who because she's outgoing, sexy, and a cowgirl, is more appealing to the likes of me.

.. besides, my math skills only extend as far as Euclidean geometry and the occasional math party trick, I'm afraid Arcanaville would be sorely disappointed in my lack of number-fu.
  15.   is six characters, actually. And yes, it does include the semicolon.

Also, you may have leftovers from excised <br> tags in the text, which will cause the "no HTML allowed" alarm to go off.

Personally, I regard this as a bug, because any field that disallows HTML should not be converted TO html by the system, ever. It should stay TEXT, and be treated as such. That way, the only time it gets flagged is when someone tried putting some tags in by hand. Instead, we have fields being converted from text to HTML, and then back (badly, I might add) and then the leftover > signs from the "html stripper" are causing the arc to go invalid.

Uh... hello... BAD programming... not just having a converter that doesn't do its job, but there's no sense in converting it TO the forbidden format in the first place!
  16. Nope.

But look on the bright side.

It's springtime in the northern hemisphere, fall in the southern, not too hot OR too cold, great time to be outside instead of on the computer reading the emo whiny crap us mopey negative wet blankets are writing, anyhow.

    The mood on MA

    It's really quite simple.

    * If you were disciplined but were innocent, take it up with CS. Request a supervisor. PM Mod08 directly, or the other CS reps on the forums. Ask them to review your play records, logs et cetera. Don't [censored] about it on the forums, because A) it's against the rules to discuss specific CS activities on the forums and B) the CS reps you need to talk to probably don't read them, EXCEPT for Niv, Mod08, and Avatea. And the people that DO read the forums are not going to have GodMode-Level SearchFu macros to find your posts, so the odds are slim to none that they will see them. PMs, they WILL see.

    * If you were disciplined and guilty of the infraction CS smacked you for, take your lumps, and stop [censored] about things being 'unfair'. Things were oh-so-fair before when the AE was getting gamed to your advantage, now that the pendulum has swung the other way, it's STILL fair, you're just on the thin end this time.
  18. Pretty much, yeah.

What's funny is, this kind of behavior does NOTHING for their own stuff. It'll still be buried in the morass of arcs on the following pages.

Plus, if you've one group 5-starring someone's new arc, at the same time as another group doing the same for one of their own, they'll start going after each other's arcs to bounce them out of the top spots.

And they both end up with 3-star averages... virtually guaranteeing that, as far as page placement is concerned, the sum total of plays to those arcs will be ... those two groups. No one else will ever see them unless someone advertises them.

Now, if they'd advertised from the beginning, and solicited honest opinions instead of engaging in Ratings PvP, they might BOTH be on the front page, as long as the arcs themselves warranted it. But instead, neither of them are.

    Ahhhhh.

I love the smell of irony in the morning.
  19. I would send in a /petition to Support on that issue.
  20. It would cost more to get a single RMT company 'shut down' in a civil suit than NCSoft is willing to pay.

Or, would you rather the development budget go to legal fees to prosecute out-of-country, say, in China?

Personally... I think NCSoft should go the "isolate and lock" route. Find the IP subnets the RMT'ers are working off of, and block them at the edge routers. You get flagged for RMT spam on an NCSoft game, you're no longer able to log on to any of them.

Get a new IP? The ban starts growing, subnet by subnet.

Yes, it would 'lock out' legitimate players, but at some point the ISP's that cater to these guys would get such a low rating from gamers, no one who wanted to play would sign up with them. Same goes for IP 'proxy' services. If you NEED a proxy to play... then there's something else going on.

Or, the alternative would be to take those IP's, find out who the service providers were, review THEIR EULA's and TOS documents... and then hand the list of 'flagged' IP's and times over to them. "We caught one/six/ten/two hundred of your customers violating YOUR anti-spam clause. We request that you follow up on this, ensure that they stop, or we block your subnets to take care of the problem ourselves."

If Comcast got handed this, or AT&T, or Verizon or any other major provider, their Policy guys would be ALL over it. They don't want their subnets banned from games, as gamers are a huge part of their subscribers. So instead they'd lower the boom on the guys who were responsible.

I know AT&T would. I've worked with their Internet Services division for the last ten years. Someone uses us as a provider, and gets busted sending spam or hatemail or viruses or whatnot? We don't back off and say 'we're just the transport'. They get called out, kicked off, and told to take their 'business' elsewhere.
  21. well, let's see, to be fair, we're still on the OLD forum software with its BROKEN search functions...

This was the scene at City Hall a half hour ago, a protest by a a few dozen of some of the games longest running players.

    Why?

Nexus Ar'gos, a 5 yer old character with a 5 year old costume, was generic'ed by the GMs. SO griefer reported that the character was a Captain Mar'vell ripoff and that's all it took

I know the player, and the toon. The costume was somewhat similar, only somewhat. I personally might give this one a pass too if that's all that happened. HOWEVER

AFTER that happened, now the GMs are demanding that the toon be deleted outright OR the player's 5 tear running account will be banned. This is, to be blunt, crap. We as customers deserve a better review porcess in cases like that AND we should certainly never be subject to the follow up bullying and harrassment being dealt out here.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    1) GM's wouldn't tell the player to delete the character. Once the costume is randomized, the name is changed, and the bio blanked, there is no more violation.
    2) IF this were an erroneous generic'ing (either through GM mistake or griefer-instigated) a petition to review the GM's action is not only acceptable, but encouraged.
    3) Thou shalt not discuss specific GM activity on an account with anyone else. So sayeth the EULA.

    therefore, IBTL+1

    CO

I cannot confirm nor deny that the current incarnation of CO sucks.

I cannot confirm nor deny that their keyboard controls are lacking, or that the game would not recognize my Logitech USB gamepad, instead of the XBox 360 gamepad I was supposed to use.

I cannot confirm nor deny that the graphics engine requires just as much horsepower as CoX but renders things much more simply, in a way that reminds me of a console RPG game circa, oh, 1990 or so.

I cannot confirm nor deny that their zone design is crowded, badly lit, to the point of claustrophobia.

Because... I cannot confirm nor deny that I am in the beta. Because if I was, their NDA would surely tell me not to confirm or deny anything in regards to the game or my presence therein.
