  1. Looking good Soul.

As for the tagline, personally I prefer "Heroes don't quit". To me, "Our Heroes live on" or "Heroes never give up" sound either too cheesy or too much of a mouthful.

Also, in the case of "Heroes don't quit", I'd move that to the top of the poster, and "Impossible just got easier" to the bottom, underneath the credits. But I'm probably overthinking this, as its your baby x).
  2. I must admit, I miss flanking bonuses. I tend to just run in circles around the mob in question as I noticed that that often lessens the damage I take.

Any thoughts?

As I progress on this I'll post a few more shots.

Fun fact #2: It takes over 20 minutes to save this image.
No, no NCSoft logo. Just no.

Also, whilst I'm not fussed about a poster, if you would be willing, I'd love to have a copy of the digital file for posterity, and potential monitor wallpaper love . Obviously, 4.5 GB is huge, so, probably a scaled down version . Let me know if you are ok with that .
  4. Yeh, I've encountered a lot more than zombies, but zombies are the most ubiquitous. Followed by Ak'abs and Draugr. None of which I can stand >_>. I miss being able to skip mobs.

Previously, I thought that would have been easy - blaster. But I did develop a soft spot for scrappers and stalkers in the end.

    2.

My favourite character. That actually is a hard one. Whilst Soph has always been my "main", she was not always, admittedly, my favourite character. Sometimes I wish I could swap out her two sets for something else. In the end, I did something along those lines and created an "ascended" version of her - a psi/psi domi. Still wasn't entirely happy.

But anyway. Sophia is a blaster, elec/fire. Incarnate up to hybrid.

More recently, I had been trying a DP/martial blaster on the beta server - Serena. I fell in love. Its a shame she will never see the light of day on live.

    3.

Easy. The melee ATs. Scrappers, stalkers, brutes. I still have not managed to get a tank past lvl 20. Now, I don't think I will. Also, the defender. After seeing a fellow Unionite completely shred Reichsman's defenses with a sonic/sonic, I wanted to give it a go. Squirtle - a sonic/water defender, was born.

My first scrapper that I recall was Tiger, a claws/regen. I just could not play her well. My latest scrapper was Lexi - a StJ/willpower lass. I really rather like her.

Stalkers - Arynxian-ji. Ninja. Godly. I was going to re-roll her as a DB/Nin, but never got round to it. Also, Two-Spirits. An evolution of Lexi into a magical (from natural) KM/Ene iirc beauty. She still hasn't left Praetoria.
  6. It might help if there were some cabals that were set up by CoX refugees and former players - are there any?

Also, I'm still on the Solomon Island, currently Blue Mountain area. The place seems to drag on for an age. Please tell me that once you leave the Solomon Isle there won't be any more zombies, at least?
  7. Saw the trailer. *yawn*

Enough with the generic fantasy MMOs please. Also, Bethesda/Zenimax, don't you dare murder the Elderscrolls' franchise with this MMO.

Or any mod for Skyrim seeking to build the whole of Tamriel.

    Or Multiplayer-Skyrim.

    Or Skywind.

    Capische?
  8. So far, I quite like the game. However, the community seems dead. Maybe I'm just used to the chat and warmth of Union Chat. But then, the cross-shard CoX channel in STO/CO has seemed dead recently too. I've managed to run 1 dungeon so far - Polaris - and that was only due to the kindness of two CoX refugees.

So far I've met two "undesirables", one who propositioned me for sex (promptly reported to a GM. First time in *any* game that has happened), and the other who was basically calling all of us noobs during my first, failed, attempt at a Polaris run.

There seems to be a dire lack of EU based players, as it seems so bloody quiet when I'm usually on.

Overall, once my current sub runs out (thats the other thing - how on Earth do you actually cancel recurrent billing? I couldn't find anything on the account page), I'm honestly unsure whether I'll stay. Shame really, as I feel the game has potential.
  9. So...

The light goes off at 23:59:59 on Friday 30th November PDT. This translates to 07:59 GMT on Saturday 1st December.

Here are my thoughts on how I would personally like to end my time in Paragon:

Firstly, everyone meet in Atlas Park for a vigil, and quiet reflection. Remembering those players who are no longer with us, and perhaps those memories of the City and Isles which aren't as joyful.

Then, move on to Pocket D, and have a massive ******* party. Celebrate the fun times we have had, and spend time with all of those friends we have met.

Those that want to, form up iTrials for some final runs. Form up those Taskforces that you either never got to do, or were too chicken to try.

Finally. (And this is where I am undecided):

    a) Go out with a bang. Hit the Isles and the City and kick the Rikti out of our dimension. (You really would've thought that they got the message by now).

    b) Gather in Atlas Park for a group photo, and ride out the darkness together.

    What are peoples thoughts?

If I run the DrQ, it'll be at a weekend, and only if I'm up early so I can start it before lunch.
  11. I'll deffo be up for this. Hopefully I'll be back from work in time.

I'll be bringing someone ranged, or my illu/emp troller probably.
  12. Take care Lady, and all the best .
  13. There was some discussion about things we would like to see happen in the STF tonight, before the end of November. Here are some things that I would love to see:

A joint run of the SSTF1 (Dr. Quaterfield). It is the longest TF in the game, and I have only ever been on it twice, nearly 3 years ago. I would like to run it one last time. I was thinking perhaps having mutliple teams run it at once, so we can join each other in misery as we grind through it x). It should be a laugh I hope.

The Ultimate Union Hamidon Raid/Apocalypse. Each major SG of Union (and unaffliated super-folk) show up in force, perhaps even forcing a multiple instancing of the Hive, to the extent that we can run two raids concurrently. A girl can dream right?

Along with SSTF1, running the SSTFs 2-4. They are run so rarely, it would be a shame to miss them.

Weekly costume contests held from now until the end of November, each with a different theme.

That is all for now, what do you guys think?

    To all of you...

Dear Zwill and the Paragon Team,

This game was the only MMO to ever bring me back after a break of over a year. That is how good this game is, and how lovely the community you helped facilitate is.

I don't understand why NCSoft torpedoed the studio or this game, but I bet it will come back to haunt them.

All the very best for the future, from myself to all the members of the Paragon Studio.

    Yours sincerely,

    Sophia Llriandri
  16. I sympathise, Thyristor. I'd also miss you if you left.

Generally speaking, I tend to only alpha my 50s, and maybe interface them too. Sophia is the only character of mine who has gotten the whole Incarnate treatment so far, mainly because I still regard her as my main, even if I don't play her that often these days.

Mostly though, once I get a character to 50, it stops there. I put IOs in them (not sets necessarily), and leave them. This only changes when I can see that I might use them a lot - such as Zoe, Sophia, Phoenix, Aisho & Abyssal - and the likelihood that i'll retire them is low.

Still being a relatively casual MMO gamer, I've come to resent this grind, which time-locks and price-locks some potentially useful game mechanics and/or equipment. It is perhaps the main reason that CoX has for so long held my attention - that, until recently, there was a lack of this screwing over the casual gamer.

Aye, before I grew tired of her and deleted her, my WS had so many rampages. Awesome. I still remember the attack chain:

    a) Leeroy
    b) Res
    c) Eclipse
    d) buff
    e) Mire
    c) Mini-nuke
and if by that point mobs were still standing:
    f) Nuke
    g) pop a small blue, suck up some souls.
    h) target next mob. Repeat until orgasm.

I had a similar moment with my dark/dark brute recently. I was in a team doing Jenkins' arc, and the mish in question was Diabolique's. Just bouncing from mob to mob, killing, taunting, killing, etc.

Then those times with Sophia, just Leeeeeerrrrrrrrrooooooyyyyyyyy. Attack, attack, attack, attack. Faceplant. Imma Phoenix silly. Attack, attack, attack, attack. Silly mobs, you can't kill a Phoenix :3. Repeat until bored. Or no mobs.

    ^_^
  18. I agree with Draeth's post. I'd also like to see the "Back" category re-evaluated as well, especially with the introduction of backpacks and the "floating" but rigid celestial back-pieces.

I can completely understand the dev's viewpoint of "Only one floaty costume piece per character", due to performance and clipping issues. However, with the edition of the "non-floaty" back pieces, I would quite like to see the category separated, so that, for instance, you could wear the Celestial adornments at the same time as a cape or bolero, for instance. Similarly, have the ability to wear the Elemental shard pack, along with the celestial energy wings for eg.

I would also like to see the Carnie masks propogated to the half-helmets category (I think thats the one - with the valkyrie, roman, warrior helms?).
  19. I guess my main query would be - is it worth using anything other than Granite once you hit 50? If not, then for my primary build I would focus on Granite then. I do want to be able to exemp this char though should I decide to run arcs/TFs etc that are below the Granite level. But I guess that is what a second build is for.

As for purps - this is what you would call a "dream" build, so the Armageddon and Hecatomb would be replaced by other sets in reality. So far, the most expensive build I've been able to afford/achieve is one around the 4bill mark, which is my Psi/Psi Domi. And that is excluding the damage purps in her "dream" build, which would thrust the cost into the 15bill range (in total).
  20. Thanks, I'll keep this in mind when I fiddle with the build. At the moment, it is looking like i'll be going for a primary build that is Granite focused - with survivability as its main purpose. So I guess looking for softcap, then dealing with Psi will be my primary concern?
  21. Awesome, thank you ^_^.

I'll put down the three of you as co-ordinators then. Unfortunately, I'm actually going to be away over that weekend, so I won't be able to help >_>.
