Just a heads-up in what I had in mind for specifics here...
I like to re-unite all old unionites. And at the same time do something epic! Meaning as much as a gathering of namesakes... often 'mains'.
the LGTF will be +4/x8, and will trigger an invasion. After we will try and bring a dropship down. I know it can be done.. but its really hard.

Am I correct that this is about 2 things:
- Apparently there is a thing called a Double XP Weekend. (I see some info on the Paragon Wiki and a message in the Announcement forum)
- On this weekend Sophia Llriandri and/or Liz Bathory want to organize something special. I gather from the info on Paragon wiki about Lady Grey that this is at least 45+?
Would anybody be so kind to explain things to a newbie like me? Thanks.

I vented the idea to do something special and found ear with Sophia and Damz... they fleshed it out as a Rikti event. That is actually the best way to do a thing like this... See.. the old mains/namesakes are almost all heavy overpowered by now, many already do +1/x8 or higher solo. Most are several years old at least. So we can do something really challenging.
I think it will run like this...
- Lady Grey Task Force (45+) on +4/x8. Several teams at the same time ... This will trigger Rikti invasions in both Paragon and the Isles. We might even make it a race for a kill all. Not sure if that is possible.
- The invasions are able to be joined in by all levels. The overpowered toons go and do their best taking down a drop ship. These dropships can actually be defeated but they are almost impossible strong. There is no badge for them either. Something I still don't understand. But it is some prestige to do so, due to the difficulty.
All lower level characters can attack the Rikti on the ground. There will be plenty of them to feel overpowered.
- Followed by a Mothership Raid for those who still have time.
This all happens on the weekend the devs have stated as 'double XP weekend'. Something we get once in a while as present/event. During that weekend all xp, prestige and Inf will be doubled on all drops and all bonuses alike. A huge event with so many overpowered toons will make the inf and prestige (most of them will be 50 and the few 45+ will be 50 withing minutes) intake go skyhigh!
The sequence will take about 2-3 hours.... and can then be repeated at will. Depends on how many are online and willing.
ps. If the LGTF seems too easy on +4/x8 I can also fire up a challenging AE arc at the same repp. I know some, including my own one... that are downright murder at that repp.
pps. It keeps enough room free to alt over directly after the event to a lower toon in order to get some xp there.

I'll try to be online to see what this Rikti stuff is about. If I understand you correctly, it will be all over the place, or is it in specific zones?

The LGTF will trigger an invasion. When that happens it will be announced... and we will also announce it again. One zone will be invaded by Rikti. Bomb/Drop ships will drop bombs... and when those are gone the Rikti will teleport in... gathering around groups of heroes (they actually target the characters walking around). The bigger these groups are... the bigger the Rikti assault on them will be resulting in an epic battle and lots of badges that come with it.

Sounds like fun. Any specific time this is happening or are you going to be doing this from sunrise until well after midnight?

Is this a Heroes only event? Me and my friends are mainly playing Villains and I've already come across a couple of things that we were unable to join because of that. P.S. I'd like to put a call out for co-ordinators for this event, especially for the first wave of LGTFs on the Friday.
So, is anyone interested in helping to keep things going over the weekend, and to launch the first waves of LGTFs?

I'll put down the three of you as co-ordinators then. Unfortunately, I'm actually going to be away over that weekend, so I won't be able to help >_>.
Did any of the Rikti stuff actually happen? I didn't notice anything and I was online during a large part of the weekend and lurking in Union Chat. I saw Damz MOTD but not really anything else.
I'm not level 50, so I was mainly interested in the Rikti invasions that were mentioned. Or did I just entirely miss some kind of message.
The only thing I had happen was at some point in St. Martial a Deadly Apocalypse happened. (That's what Paragon wiki calls it). I tried fighting the mobs at one of the banners, but that seemed without effect.
There was a large mothership raid on Saturday evening, but as far as I know the LGTFs never happened, so there was no invasion.

With the Freedom Phalanx breaking; the resources of Primal Earth strained due to the war with Praetoria; and now Longbow and Arachnos dealing with the threat of Darrin Wade, it falls to generations past and present to form a new Phalanx. To form the Bulwark upon which the Rikti hordes will be crushed.
It is up to us now. But we have known that for a while.
The Last Union of Supers will mount a defence of Primal Earth, against an old, nearly forgotten enemy.

The weekend will begin with a series of Mothership Raids, to clear those Rikti who have been abandoned on Earth all these years. Then under Lady Grey's direction (LGTF), relentless waves of supers will attack the Lineage of War's subterranean conduit, to prevent it from ever coming online long enough for the Lineage of War to mount their attack. After the inital waves, Lady Grey has requested that supers remain available to launch counter-attacks as and when needed.
However, do not be complacent, as it is suspected by the Dark Watcher that the Lineage of War are no longer dependent on that single subterranean conduit. Be prepared to defend the entire Earth from any attack the Lineage of War may launch, from any place.
If necessary, another topside attack against the marooned Mothership will take place, in an effort to permanently cripple the Lineage of War's efforts here on Primal Earth.
The last defense starts March 16th 2012.
