Quote:Looking for advice. I have 10 SP and 40+ AP to spend and I'm not sure what to unlock next. I'm running a Shotgun/Assault Rifle Dragon with all the basic powers unlocked. hould I continue unlocking the outer circle or start something in melee or magic. If so which would be the best choice?
All opinions appreciatedQuote:I decided to unlock the rest if the inner wheel. I love Shotgun but the Rifle is leaving me feeling like I'm not performng at my full potential. I'll experiment and see what happens with Melee and Magic.
Approximate roles each weapon plays (note, there is some cross-over, but these are the main roles):
Tank:
Hammer, Blade, Chaos.
Support
Pistol, Shotgun, Elementalist.
Heal:
Assault Rifle, Blood, Fist.
A good place to start research for weapons is here:
http://yokaiblog.wikidot.com/guides:weapon-choices
Quote:To use a weapon you need at least the amount of SP to use the weapon QL lvl invested into it.
IE: a QL1 weapon is SP 1 in either of the shotgun slots. and you also need some of the shotgun PA's unlocked so you have the powers to use it.
Also note that you can increase a weapon skill by only pumping up one of the two skills in the weapon. It takes 55 skill points to max out a weapon skill, 110 skill points to max out both aspects of a weapon. The Rocket Launcher takes 35 skill points to purchase/max. -
The USPO is completely clueless and doesn't even know that prior patents cover what this does, let alone the Internet for the last 20 years.
The USPO sole duty is to rubber-stamp any flimsy idea for a fee. It doesn't bother to do any research at all into applications. Instead it trusts the applicant.
The USPO is a world-wide joke.
Edit:
The patent, as presented, is overly broad and could apply from paper-doll programs to web pages to MMOs. -
Quote:Turn on sprint get a couple steps running jump. It helps to have one or two sprint speed increases (you can buy them in your faction's HQ after certain ranks). There might be another extremely late game option that you'll eventually have: there is a rocket jump called "death from above".Oh another thing. Anyone know how I can increase my jump distance? There's two lore objects in Seoul on top of a roof and a balcony thing (8 and 13 I think) I can't seem to get because I can't jump far enough to reach get them.
I've watched other players make the jumps, but I can't seem to match the distance. If there's a skill I have to buy I don't mind saving up to get it.
Took me an hour (and a couple of youtube videos) to catch the trick to those. -
Quote:*Cough* Praetoria *cough*.Now something that does irritate me about the NPC's is the instant healing. Last time I was on I took a shot at a sole target and kept shooting at it while backing up to maintain distance. Suddenly the NPC stops instant heals, breaks off combat, and runs away. Forcing me to start over. As far as I'm concerned that's total BS. I don't give a rat's patootie what the devs reasons are, an NPC that quits combat and instantly heals back to full in the middle of combat is a BS game mechanic. Especially when I've had NPC's chase me clear across the map when I wasn't fighting back.

Quote:None of that applies to the original poster. He is making a copy to his hard drive as an image. He is then using that file from his hard drive instead of using the CD/DVD.Some early games used discs which stored more data than the standard writable disks so e.g. a standard CD held 600Mb of data but come commercial games may have writen 700Mb to their disk.
You could use a process called overburning to try to copy them which basically meant that it would write data to portions of the disc beyond the standard areas. The problem was that whilst this would usually work for a small amount of overburn it was never guaranteed and the more additional capacity you needed to write the higher the chance of it failing. -
As always, willing to help.

Quote:Make a "Scripts" folder in the main game folder and put the new files in it. Like Forbin said:I don't have a Scripts folder as yours shows. My folders stop at screenshots.
However if I go into Data > prog, there is a "script" folder there. Is that the same thing?
Quote:Just create a new folder in that section and name it Scripts, then create the .txt files inside the new Scripts folder.
Yes, but I thought it would help others as well.
Quote:This looks really useful but... I can't seem able to use it properly. It doesn't actually do much so far as I can tell. I'm guessing I've done something wrong but... /em headscratch
That is the thing about me, and my "discussions" on the forums. I never hated anyone. Sure, I'd get mad and blow up sometimes, but I tried not to hold grudges for very long. Though there is one player that is on my permanent "get lost" list, but that was their both in and out of game actions that caused that to happen (and that took a couple month's effort on their part). -

For those that are having trouble understanding how to set up the auto-chat setup, here is an image of what it should look like at the end:

Quote:Shouldn't that be "no danger of going into the red"?"In those 5 minutes we tried to think of better options than shutting down a steady profit-maker that was in no danger of going into the black. It was exhausting."
Black, to my understanding, is good and profitable. Unlike going into the red... -
Quote:Yes, starting server pretty much only affects PVP at this point to my knowledge.Am I right in thinking you can team across servers? I seem to remember that being mentioned somewhere.
Quote:My characters and the few friends I have in the game are on Daemon but I'd really love to stay in touch with CoXers. (I have a spare slot I could use for a character on Arcadia) but I'd prefer to stick with the characters I have if possible while teaming with some fellow refugees. -

Oh, and if anyone hasn't yet bought the game and aren't opposed to Steam:
Steam has The Secret World for 50% off ($24.99 USD) until 4 pm Pacific Thursday.
If you buy it through Steam, you get (for all your characters):- A Black Steam Hoodie
- A Black Steam T-Shirt
- A White Steam T-Shirt

Hello Triumph,
On October 7, 2012, I will be running the 6th week of Really Hard Way badge attempts for Triumph server in a row. I would like to start the trial at 4pm Pacific/6pm Central, although given the last few weeks, we'll likely start 30 minutes later. I would appreciate it if all participants would please arrive a few minutes early for invites and pre-run instructions.
I am looking for Volunteers for this now, asking that you sign up for a space in the run early if possible. Cross server participants are more than welcome. Extra damage, corruptors, and kinetics will be definitely welcomed. Please keep in mind, that even if you do not care about this badge for yourself, major damage or -resistance abilities are still useful to those who do care about gaining it and a filled team will have a better chance of victory.
The requirements for the badge are as follows:
Defeat Tyrant in the last phase/fight of Magisterium without defeating any of the Lights of the Well.
The lights of the Well can only be defeated by using the temp power: Quills of Jocas. They are one shot by this power, so I must be VERY clear to not use this power in your attack chain.
In order to win this trial, I am seeking several small things from my players. As I am very lenient, do not expect me to enforce all of them, but I do expect you to make an attempt to be ready. Remember, if for some reason, you cannot manage the recommend Incarnate Slots on time, having something is still better than having nothing.
- During the trial, play, don't chat. Chatting will get you killed. Chatting will confuse other players and make people less likely to see any instructions I might give. Chatting makes my job leading that much harder.[/COLOR]
- Realizing that the above will likely not be completely respected, I will do my best to also send my instructions to the Request channel.
- Be a +3 lvl incarnate
- Have a t4 Core branch Lore pet
- Have either Assault or Support Hybrid
- Have Ultimate Inspirations ready to use. The more the better.
- Be prepared to listen and follow procedures outlined before and during the trial. I will be checking.
- Expect the Tyrant fight to take the whole 20 minutes. Do not get nervous and jump the gun.
If you wish to Volunteer for this trial, now is the time. As said above, I plan to form this run at 4pm Pacific/6pm Central time on Sunday, October 7. Remember that space is limited, so it is on a first come, first served basis.
Thank you all for your time

Quote:And I'm positive that even then that anything beyond SSA 2.3 (released in August) will only be available on the Beta client.Anything that shows up in game is the result of an automated system, but with nobody in the studio to tie it to the store, it can't actually be accessed. Later this month, SSA 2.5 will come out, but only VIPs will be able to access it--like SSA 2.4, it won't show up in the store.

This is regarding the two custom channels, #OOC, and #IC.
#ooc is quickly becoming the VirtueUnited of TSW, so even if you aren't a roleplayer, I highly recommend joining it. the thread details how to do so, and automate the process.
Custom channels are still a little buggy, but I recommend trying anyway every time you log in. -
I wish you'd quit posting these two, as hardly anyone is on them.
For a broader reach there is two general replacements:
/chat join OOC
/chat join IC
Edit:
At the very least, include those two channels as well as the CoH-centric ones. -
A bunch of replies.
Don't get me wrong, but it was a bit of a culture shock coming from CoH to see how the Dragon send their recruits to the first training mission.

Quote:Oh and their damn forums won't let me register. It says my login and password isn't valid, then sends me to a screen to get them sent to my email, but then tells me my email isn't valid and to contact an Administrator, but wont let me do that because I can't log in to the forums.
Quote:Snipped a lot.
Used to be that when you went to the "Buy" screen at their website it gave you the option to get one of those packs, but now it's just a straight "buy" for 49.99. Can you upgrade to these packs in game anywhere or are we spit out of luck?

Click for full version.
It isn't showing the Grand Master Pack or Master Pack because I already have them.
Editing in a couple more replies:
Quote:Don't get me wrong, it isn't a horrible interface, it just takes time to make sense of coming from this game.
Quote:If I buy the discounted version (which is on sale through tonight I think)... which "pack" am I getting? Just the normal one?
Yeah... It was more than a bit of a sticker shock. -
Same time as last week... The trial leaders (Sayaki & myself) will be there around 3:30 pm Pacific.

Quote:Server transfers are, apparently, meaningless unless you PVP (apparently that is server and faction specific).I was just checking out items on their "store" and all I can say is former CoH players that complained about prices here are gonna be in for a rude awakening.
$20 bucks for a server transfer
$10 bucks for a costume set for a SINGLE character
Titles for a character range from $1-2 bucks up to $17 bucks for a SINGLE character
Pets cost $5 bucks dog, cat, or bird for a SINGLE character
I agree that the titles are stupidly priced, but vanity items...
Same with pets.
There is a lot of clothing that can be unlocked in game for in game cash and achievements. But the per-character unlocks annoy me as well. So do the multi-slot only costumes.
Quote:Do you know if you also have to buy a ticket to make use of the games tailor if you buy a new costume piece/set?
Cuz that's just adding insult to injury.
Plastic Surgeon... either through the item store OR PAX. Admittedly, it is a large amount of PAX, but it is an option.
