Quote:Well, you could get the In-game Items Pack, but as it is $9.99 and doesn't come with a free month, it is the more expensive version (if you include the free month).Okay, I have an existing PC version of the game and have had it for some time. I want the Valkyrie costume options. Is my only option to buy the MAC version of the game for $20 bucks? Will that even work on my PC?
Either option applies a code to your account, and both work for Apples and PCs. -

Quote:Someone posted the 1250 badge on paragonwiki.comDoes anyone else feel like they've flooded the game with badges, just to give level 50 players something to do?

You now have something to look forward to.
And yeah, some badges are really grindy still. -
Well GPBunny, if you are in the Loyalty Program, you will likely have your answer fairly soon:
Quote:You should be able to see for yourself, or at least read the patch notes that typically get posted. In preparation for the Going Rogue Loyalty Closed Beta starting tomorrow, Thursday, July 22nd, 2010, the game client will be made available for pre-download in order to alleviate the expected load on our patching servers.
The North American Beta client is available here.
And the European Beta client is available here.
Please bear in mind that this is only a pre-download for all of you who have taken part in the Loyalty Program that ran between August 15th and November 15th, 2009.
Access to the Closed Beta servers will be effective from Thursday, July 22nd, 2010 on. Participants will be receiving a Beta invitation and their access to the Closed Beta forums will be enabled on the same day.
We know you've been eagerly waiting for this particular phase of the Closed Beta to start and thank you for your patience with this.
Known Issues:
The first attempt to grab the installer may result in a 5-10 second download of an empty .zip file. If this occurs, just try again and you should start the full download.
The CohBeta folder will install by default to Program Files\NCsoft\CohBeta this is different from the usual default of Program Files\CohBeta. -
Quote:Can you remember which developer? The information in question is not covered by the NDA. It has been stated in the open forums by a developer that accolades will not stack. Instead, what will happen is that if you switch sides, any accolade power will be replaced by its opposite-side equivalent (all heroic accolade powers have a villain-side equivalent, and vice versa).

Quote:Thanks for understanding why I posted what I did. I mean it happens every single closed beta. The longer the beta, the more of this type of question happens. Sometimes, like the original poster here, the intent is to see if there is something that they've missed. Other times the intent is to troll (some PVPers have a strange idea of "fun"). For some of us that are using the forums, all these posts just add to the noise. Now, Snow, I know that your question was rhetorical. You weren't actually expecting an answer. And I can understand your exasperation, wondering why people aren't using the forums the way they should and could. The simple answer is that some folks just want an answer. They don't want a lesson in when to use quote marks in the search field and when to use and/or.
Yeah, I hear you. -

Quote:It is safe to assume that any information that is official would be found in one of two places: The Developers Digest and The Community Digest. No I didn't already KNOW that was covered by the NDA. Since so many "facts" have leaked out or been hinted at in so many different formats. What sparked the question was a member of my SG was doing the Atlas Med. and it just started the conversation. I figured that maybe someone did already know and could share that knowledge.
It is also safe to assume that any release of official badge information will be posted to the Badges and Gladiators section of the forums almost as soon as it is revealed.
In fact I fully expect a lot of information will be revealed next week with the San Diego Comic Con.
As to people asking questions during closed beta it happens a lot. I really feel for those in the closed beta as I am sure that they would love to be able to answer everyone's questions about the new content. If they did, they would risk getting kicked out of beta, and that isn't fun for anyone. -
Well I'm sure that if there were details from a Q&A or some other announcement that it would be talked about in the Badges & Gladiators section, and nothing like that is happening.
-
Why do players ask questions they KNOW cannot be answered because of NDA? It happens every single closed beta. If someone knows, they cannot answer you. You'd be far better putting this question to the developers instead of asking other players who would risk not getting invited to another closed beta if they did answer.

Quote:At this point, I don't even pay any attention to how much time has passed between Vet Rewards. I doubt that jump to one per 6 months would make a difference.Put me in the opposite group from these two posts. I actually still look forward to the little quarterly rewards. I'm excited that my next reward is August 12th. Having the rewards 4 times a year is a nice little perk that I think is the right interval. I don't see lengthening the reward time as beneficial or something that should be desired. I certainly don't think that if they extended the time the rewards would get better, because of the amount of complaints of "favouritism" and "we should be able to pre-buy time" would be that much louder.Quote:Doubtful on getting better rewards, but I wouldn't mind the intervals getting longer. I mean, I'm coming up on 75. It's like a marriage--in the beginning, you celebrate every year. After a while, you celebrate the small milestones. Later, you celebrate the BIG milestones. So yeah, hooray for my imminent Dodranscentennial (75) Anniversary. Wake me up for the Centennial.

At this point they come frequently enough to remind people to keep subscribing while not frequently enough to make people get too many. In other words, unlike all the other rewards in this game, this one is pretty balanced. -

Quote:I put a deposit on Going Rogue (with EBGames, aka Game Stop). I can still get that back.I have no purchased GR because I don't buy things sight unseen. There are companies I trust far more than this one and I won't put that aside for them. I'm glad of that decision now. I'm leaning heavily toward not picking up GR at least until i19. The last determinant for me will be the new app/ppp choices upon side switching and if something I really like is unknown to me about it so far.

Quote:One level, not 10. They said the Incarnate levels maxed out at 10, not that 10 Incarnate levels would be the preview.I may have misunderstood somewhere along the lines, but I thought that the inclusion of the first of ten incarnate levels was a bonus that was being offered as a preview on the release of GR. The actual incarnate system was not being released until I19 and thus was a future feature to be offered to those who purchased GR.

Quote:I played DP for a week during its beta at the end of February. It wasn't enough to convince me to pre-purchase GR. Neither was Demon Summoning or the announced new powersets. The first level of the Incarnate System was a factor in my decision to pre-order GR.With respect, every single one of those was via word of mouth or special information intimately shared with the "private" fan base/con attendees. I still haven't seen any advertisements, press releases, or box art that outright says COH:GR:INCARNATES.
...
It was an extra feature that we were looking forward to. It still is. If the Incarnate sneak peek was the ONLY reason you bought GR in advance, and you haven't ONCE played DS or DP, well then you have my condolences.
While it wasn't on the advertising (that I know of), I would hardly call a Lead Developer's "state of the game" address to be word of mouth. To call it such is wrong. -
Talk to War Witch:
Quote:Im also extremely excited about the City of Heroes Going Rogue Expansion this summer! Everyone here at Paragon Studios has put their hearts into it and its going to be a lot of fun! This is our premier expansion and were very excited to see all our hard work over the last year make it to you guys!
So there is a lot in store for you with new Power Sets, new zones (in the awesomeness that is Praetoria), more missions, and the Going Rogue system (with has lots of missions, too). Not only that, but familiar characters that you met in Paragon City or the Rogue Isles make a re-appearance in this alternate universe, and a teensy tinsy introduction to the Incarnate System should keep you level 50s busy for some time! -

Quote:Yes, we can't always get what we want. As to the last criteria, it is closer to a thematically appropriate typeface than Bodoni, Garamond, Goudy, Times, Futura, etc. Heck it is better than Red Circle. It does fulfil the rest of the criteria I have though.I'd argue that it doesn't fit the last criteria at all. Sure, comic sans was inspired by comic book lettering, but it really doesn't look much like comic book lettering at all.
No, from my point it is more poking fun at those who are upset at what others use for an in game typeface. Oh, and those that get upset over Comic Sans in general. Sure it is often mis-used. In my opinion, not in this case though.Quote:Besides, I can have a heart attack all I want. Go ahead and continue to use your terrible font, all I've really done with this thread is entertain myself and others. If you take offense to my taking an offense, well, then I guess we're just a couple of people who take the internet far too seriously.
I'm constantly trying out different typefaces, currently I'm trying Verdana, though that might be too skinny for my tastes. -
It should have been fixed with the 6/23/2010 patch:
Quote:Ouroboros - Fixed a bug in Flashback missions that caused Badges to be awarded only to the mission owner. -
Quote:Minor problem: KHTF/Cap SF triggers the Zombie Apocalypse, not the Supernatural Banner Event. If it's definitely triggered by KHTF, why not create a player-organized event for fun on your server? Pick a side, set a date and time (heroes, this Flarnday at Tith o'clock PM Ethereal ST). Sign up teams of 8 on forums.
The banner's trigger is, as far as I can tell, only triggered by costume salvage redemption or the full Halloween Event. -
Because 1 billion is an unrealistic goal that should have been reduced in Issue 5 when it became immediately apparent that the developers grossly misjudged the amount of time needed to achieve that goal.
