  1. Please don't go through with this change, Geko. You like showing numbers to illustrate your reasoning. Please look over Circeus' numbers to illustrate our reasoning. Give us a reason to play this set.
  2. [ QUOTE ]
Sadly, after all the complaining about changes to Inv, taking them from the best tanker by far to.. the best tanker by far, I don't know that tanker feedback is considered anymore. Ice is the weakest set, has been, and still is. EA's a decent power takes the weakest set available and makes them, for 25 seconds, still the weakest set. If you feel you have to give it a cap for some reason that only makes sense on a spreadsheet do so, but if you're really interested in doing something with the Ice set, do something constructive. The one thing it used to have going for it was mobile mez protection, an now everyone has that, and even when they didn't, the set was still so weak no one played it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Very nice post WraithLord. I think you sum up the sentiment nicely. (I only quoted the last part for emphasis.)
  3. Ice Armor needs some problems fixed before you put a cap on their best power. If you want to add some real damage resistance to the set, then feel free to have the cap. We get one-shotted by reasonably leveled AV's which is embarassing. We get killed by underlings (swarms). We have no protection from psionic damage. We always have to face the alpha-strike (getting hit before energy absorption and chilling embrace go into effect.) Defence scales to level. There are some attacks that are auto-hit and we have Zero way to counteract that. Tons of defense debuffs and accuracy buffs that we have to face. There is always at least a 5% chance to hit us and when we get hit we take full damage (which leads to AV's one-shotting us). We are supposed to be tanks.

The power is still quite massive, and probably still too powerful.

    [/ QUOTE ]

EA is all we have and this "massive" power has a cap already. Why lower the power before fixing other issues with Ice Armor?

I appreciate the changes that were made with Issue 3. Stacking armor has certainly helped and the changes to Hibernate are a ton better. It isn't that we are on god mode here. We aren't tank-mages. If you want to add caps to Energy Absorption, how about throwing some damage resistance in permafrost?
  4. I remember the deafening sound of Combat Jumping.
  5. Awesome. Positron delivers.

    Defense nerf

As an Ice tank, this has me worried. After finally getting some fixes to the primary power set (stackable armor and sleep protection), I thought we were finally fixed. Now, I get to wait and see how this all works out.
  7. It really does mean a lot to know that States. (You didn't have to tell us though, we can tell that you care about us.)

Coming from another MMO, *cough galaxies *cough, this is very refreshing to get the level of communication from the lead designer. Not everyone likes to hear everything you have to say, but being honest with us is very important. Also, delivering more than you promise is huge for me. Having things like the Halloween and Winter events are great even if some of us get rocks in our trick or treat bag or snowballs hit us while we are trying to play our boombox. In another game not-to-be-mentioned-here, we were promised everything under the twin suns of Tatooine, and promises were broken time and time again. Thanks for moving forward in a great game, States.

The Gruff- Of the three billy goats.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thanks. I was drawing a blank on that one. Completely forgot about Billy Goat Gruff even though I loved that story as a little kid.

    [ QUOTE ]
"Who’s that stomping over my bridge?" roared the troll, resting his chin on his hands.

"Billy Goat Gruff," said the third goat in a deep voice. "I’m going up to the mountain to eat the lush spring grass."

"Oh no you’re not," said the troll as he clambered up on to the bridge. "I’m going to eat you for breakfast!"

"That’s what you think," said the biggest Billy Goat Gruff. Then he lowered his horns, galloped along the bridge and butted the ugly troll. Up, up, up went the troll into the air... then down, down, down into the rushing river below. He disappeared below the swirling waters, and was drowned.

Letting the creator of the SG have the ability to demote the top-level commanders of the SG or possible kick inactive ones would be nice. I have 3 leaders in my SG now who haven't played in 2-3 months and, with new members rolling in, I could use the space.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think this would be nice.

Also, the SG email would be nice. (one email to the whole SG)

    Ta da!

Looks good States. Great to see you with an avatar finally.

.... now to get CuppaJo an avatar... (Sorry, can't remember who found this originally.)

    Villain Emotes

/em Oooooo - a la Scott Hall where you tuck your arms in and hold your hands out from your chest wiggling your fingers while sarcastically acting scared.

    [ QUOTE ]
Actually, as a counter to the heroes' newspaper, we should get
/blueprints or /master plan that we can look over...or even /world domination for dummies

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Perfect

We also need a distraction emote. "Look! a Distraction" where the villain points beind the hero in order to get in a cheap shot or get away.

    [ QUOTE ]
How about an emote that has you say "you goodie goodies havnt heard the last from me" then throw a smoke bomb on the ground in order to cover your escape. This would work very well for teleporters.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think this is a must as well. Even if you don't have the power to teleport, villains need to thow down a smoke bomb just to cover their tracks even if they are slow.

    [ QUOTE ]
    "Khaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!!"
    http://www.khaaan.com/

    [/ QUOTE ]

This would be good but over-exagerated with fists thrown up in the air, shouting "Noooooooooo!"

Perhaps one where Money bags appear.
  12. Snorii

    Interesting.....

If you try to ignore yourself, it should say, "No matter where you go, there you are."
  13. [ QUOTE ]
I don't expect an answer form States on this one.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I do.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
Stackable armors is NOT, repeat NOT, what the Ice tanker line needs. Check the Tanker forums : all 4 of us Ice tankers have started threads at some point explaining AT LENGTH the problem with Ice tankers : no mez protection. NONE. The Archetype is plain UNPLAYABLE and CAN be out-tanked by just about every type of scrapper and some controllers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Amen

    [ QUOTE ]
WHY would you look at a problem(point #6) that has work-arounds available to it before you would address the enormous problem Ice tankers face in having NO WAY of mitigating the continued problems of not being able to contribute to a team and not being able to play solo?

Don't get me wrong : I am happy for my Invulnerable bretherns and that the UYS problem is being addressed but they can teleport around to make their type playable and mitigate the "rooted" factor. What can the Ice tankers do besides team with a defender that can keep slapping Clear Mind on us? There is no way to "fix" our problem on our own. Ice tankers are not tankers. They are weak damage output scrappers with a bit more smashing defense....until they reach 32. Then we aren't needed, or necessary, on a team and we can't play solo since the effect is usually : sleep, toggle, dead.

PLEASE, Statesman, take two minutes and find out the problem with us Ice tankers(again the tanker forums have the info) before you give us a fix we Just. Don't. Need.

    Thanks.

    [/ QUOTE ]

We need this fixed ASAP. Stacking armors isn't going to help us. When the sleep attack comes, it just causes more toggles to drop. And then there we are with no defense (unless we get off an Energy Absorption) and no resistance. A meat popsicle with more health than most, but we are now also completely open to holds. It doesn't take long to die at that point and as a tank, that really sucks considering we have no offense. There are other things that need to be addressed with Ice Armor, but the lack of sleep resistance is the number one priority for us.

    Badge Progress

There aren't status bars for the Halloween badges. I would imagine that this is because you would be stuck with them if you don't finish before the event is over.

To find out how many witches, zombies, etc you need to defeat, here is a good badge guide

    Villain Emotes

/em chinstroke: See the Bride's martial arts teacher in Kill Bill 2. Motion-capture this movement.

    [/ QUOTE ]

lol, I was thinking the same thing. The problem with him is that no one has a goatee that long. If I'm thinking of the same action you are where he keeps grabbing his long beard and flipping it to one side.

    Villain Emotes

Definitely need a cackle, a beard stroking emote, and rubbing hands evilly one.

I'd also like to see a surrender emote a la Ric Flair. On your knees looking up waving arms frantically in a negative manner (side to side) (after the emote is over, you naturally get up and get a cheap shot in)
  19. I got there 3 minutes late. I hate that I missed it, but I look forward to the real deal.

I even left my night class early trying to make the event. I hope that some future PCC Events will be on other days besides Tuesdays and Thursdays (only days my night class meets)
  20. I wonder what the Handbook's wish was?
  21. Happy Un-birthday you non-libra arachnid
  22. This may have been brought up before, but Energy Absorption in the Ice Armor line also drains endurance. Granted, you are a lot more likely to find a group of eight electrical blasters, but there is another power that drains endurance. I don't follow other power sets very well, but aren't there other powers that drain endurance?

I do agree that Arch-Villains have a ton of endurance and it looks like their stamina is maxxed. I never have been able to dent it for more than a few seconds with Energy Absorption. And although AV's use a lot of endurance to use special attacks, I've never seen anything but AV's with a full or next to full endurance bar. I do admit that my experience is limited to Dr. V, Clamor, Vandal and Hopkins. (Monsters Kraken, Adamastor and Babbage if they count too)

I forgot where I was going with that, but my point is that you don't necessarily have to team with just electrical blasters to drain endurance.
