Ive killed my fair share of stalkers, brutes, doms, etc
[/ QUOTE ]
Then what exactly is the problem. If you have killed what you believe to be your fair share then why are you complaining. Is fair not good enough? -

Well I was just referring to saying that having a Shivan for a Scrapper is like having Pets for an MM.
[/ QUOTE ]
no, it's not. a petless mm has NO chance of soloing a damned thing. flawed analogy is flawed.
[/ QUOTE ]
i've seen videos of petless MM's soloing AV's, so it is possible
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah I saw one solo Statesman in RV without pets even in the build -
[ QUOTE ]
ah i see. i guess that explains why they put a taunt aura in evasion, brutes having tank level taunt auras. tanker TAUNT power and single target punchvoke in every attack.
[/ QUOTE ]
Scrappers have every level of taunt except from /SR
/WP
/Inv
/Shield
All have taunt auras
Scrapper melee attacks have a single target taunt as well -
Unless the bubble offers +resistance, clicking PBU and applying shields will grant crazy high defense

I was running with a team last night doing the Dark Watcher arc and we ended up in the last mission to save the world. Team was 1 Troller, 1 Tank, 2 Scrappers(my DM/SR and a DB/Regen). We got to the last room where I had pulled the main AV back to the hallway as to avoid the Nemesis AV ambush. Well the ambush ended up noticing the Troller dropped him. The Rikti AV at this point was about to drop so I swapped to the Nemesis AV.
A few moments later I noticed the other AV on the ground and the team is working on ambushes so I just kept on with the AV. I have a macro to call out targets so I hit it to call attention to the AV I had at half health at this point. No one stopped to help so I typed "This is an AV also". I got this reply "Looks like you got him, the rest of us are going to attack the generators"
I was totally shocked, I didn't mind at all since I made that Scrapper to handle things like that but to have the team be confident enough to just leave the AV up to one person while they spread out to get more objectives was cool. Normally everyone dog piles the AV but they swung by to see Nemesis getting beat up and just kept on walking.
To me beating up an AV solo is fun. I have a few Brutes that can do it but only 1 Scrapper so far. Once the Rouge thing gets introduces my DM/SD Brute will be my next thing to trick out. If the villain market wasnt so dry he would be already -

Use your insps people, they aren't [censored] Pokemon to be collected and stared at.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's funny you say this because I play with a friend who always has a full tray of medium to large insp when they are lying on the floor beat up. I try to pass them an awaken and says they are full so I ask him how come he didnt eat a green and he says something like "All I had was purples and oranges" -

LB Minions(Spec-Ops) are capable of totally shutting down your regen and LTs (Nullifiers) can lower your resistance very badly. -

Brutes preform a lot better when they are Bruting rather than Tanking.

I spent 3 billion on my SS/WP. It has 2466 HP with 80% global recharge. Passive HP regen is 44hp a sec without anyone in range. I put this thing through any type of content and have beat a few AVs solo.
If you are having end problems slot a chance for end proc in both Stamina and QR -

It sucks balls on the ITF however.

So I used to be into PvP before all the awful changes. During my playtime over the last few issues I ended up leveling up a bunch of new toons instead of spending time doing my PvP thing. So this weekend I wondered how my new toons would do in the new PvP so I loaded up a few accounts and went to the arena to check out defenses/resists/damage output/etc.
So here I am in the arena doing dive bomb attacks to see how much damage I can crank out during my BU or Aim +attack cycle my alt gets defeated and poof I got a Javelin quad. So I realize I better swap to my alt just incase while my 10 minute no PvP IO timer was on. Next thing I know I have gotten into the same thing with my villain when bam another PvP IO. A panacea triple I believe. So i popped out of the arena, swapped to some new toons and went back in to see how well a few more would do. I ran a total of 8 arena matches jumping around testing out my toons and came away with 930 milllion hero cash (got lucky with a panacea chance for +hp/+end) and 210 mil villainside.
Only during 1 match did I not recieve any IOs. I recieved at least 1 IO for each 30 minute match with 2 matches getting me a seperate IO for both my hero and my villain.
It was a good weekend on the market for my 4 hours of work -

there is virtually no benefit to slotting Freezing Rain with either Accuracy or Damage enhancements.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah the only reason mine gets damage is a by product of me attaining set bonuses. If they offered a different set with better bonuses that only effected Freezing Rain's rec/end redux but had the capability of boosting range/slow/tohit debuff/etc I would still slot it simply because Freezing Rain only requires recharge to be effective. The only set I would not slot would be Knockback because the mobs would be thrown out of its radius. -
[ QUOTE ]
Claws/*, DM/*, and MA/* are all good primary selections. */Regen is probably the best secondary choice. Recon and QR are simply great, especially in the early game where healing is generally better than any mitigation you can get.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is true but a lack of slots at level 10 make a huge impact since the IOs at that level give crap benefits. Regen is still prob the best choice since you get QR as well but my Fire/Fire Scrapper was a little monster comparied to my claws/regen at level 10.
You dont get QR but you do get a fast rech heal and smas/lthl resist and stun protection -
The defense debuff is somewhere in the 30% range for Defenders with it a little lower for Controllers. That is plenty defense debuff. With slotted accuracy on your attacks and a mobs defense debuffed by 25% you should be able to hit +5s like you do +1s. Defense debuff slotting is a waste of slots. The same goes for Radiation Infection. That power should be slotted for -tohit instead of -defense.
You really arent getting how massive of a defense debuff the power has unslotted. The description even says it severely reduces a targets defense. Unless you plan on fighting +8s you just dont need it, it really is not that hard to understand. Nothing in the game so far has debuffed my acc/tohit to a point where the default defense debuff did not make up for it.
One of my toons with FR is a Storm/Dark Defender with no access to aim and does nto have tactics. I have stood dead in the middle of CoT ghost runnig Darkest Night while getting hit from dark attacks dropping my tohit to about the 50% mark. Drop freesing rain and guess what... all the missing stops. All of it.
5 Posi Blast/1 achilles proc is a cheap and great way to slot it
5 Armag (All but damage) +Achilles proc is how I went on my Cold/Storm. With enough recharge you can stack FR debuffs since it last for a set poeriod of time after the last tick hit the target
I will end saying it again. You just dont need to slot for defense debuff. Yes it does lower their defense more but you dont need it any lower. -
[ QUOTE ]
Except when you're fighting AVs, especially ones that have Elude or MoG. Paragon Protectors too. Those are the times you'll wish you slotted the def debuff in FR.
[/ QUOTE ]
You still dont need the defense debuff portion slotted -
I never did the build on Mids but I can list the power selections
Jab
Haymaker
KO Blow Rage
Footstomp
Taunt(needed for sets)
Kin shield
Power Shield
Entropy Shield
Dampening Field(for +3% def IO)
Energy Cloak
Energy Drain
Overload
Pools:
Hasten/SS
CJ/SJ
Stimulant/Aid Self
Hurdle/Health/Stamina
My current build has Mu Lightning still in it from a PvP build but Gloom is usually the best choice to up DPS for AV fights. the -recovery portion acts as a debuff that not only halts recovery but makes using aidself worse than the DoT from gloom.
The build has no purples because to achieve the defenses needed without getting tough/weave I couldnt fit any so it only offers 50% global rech mostly due to LoTG procs. 1900 HP(HPT is only +hp accolade) normally and 3000+ w/ Overload running.
Defenses are:
46 to smash/lthl
45 fire/cold
49 Nrg
42 to Neg Nrg
14% to psi -
I have soloed my way through a few of AVs with my SS/EA. The rage crash can be made not so bad with some damage procs in jab/gloom/haymaker and use of Vet powers since neither procs or vet powers have their damage gutted from the Rage crash.
The biggest problem is aquiring all the needed IOs to cap an /EA Brute's defenses -
I play all my games without pants
If I stay on the forums too long at work I somehow end up nekkid here too -
It would have a chance to go off every 10 seconds on each target in range
-
Something really cool about having procs in Super Strength attacks is when Rage crashes you can still keep using your same attacks, even though they wont do nearly the same damage they can still do damage when the procs fire off. I cant count how many times Rage crashed just as a target was close to death but the Hecatomb proc in Haymaker or the Apoc in Gloom finished them off. The chance for Fire Armag proc in footstomp with a chance for +rech proc really crank up the AoE damage
I think I like all the purple procs to be honest -

I think you just convinced me to keep the one I picked up the other day for my Crab Spider. Which is a tough call considering the market price for itHello Channelgun!
[/ QUOTE ]
Unless your plan is to have it be one of the 5 Hecatombs you would slot into that power I would sell it and use the inf for other IOs to get some set bonuses you need. IIRC these IOs can get you an average 100 mil inf. That could get you a few powers slotted out for extra def/rech/recovery/etc where as that purple damage proc will only get you more damage every now and then.
I have a bunch of these slotted on numerous toons because as others said they do rock but the value of raising defense on a defense based toon or picking up another 3-4% hitpoints from fully slotting 2 powers from the 100 mil you could make selling the IO would make me sell it unless I was adding it to the set for those bonuses. Now if money isnt an issue then by all means put it any fast recharge power that gets used often and enjoy -

A little note - the Gladiator's Armor unique is Chance for Teleport Res/+Def (all), not +Resistance/+Def all. Unlike the Steadfast Protection one, it doesn't boost resistance.
[/ QUOTE ]
I went with Impervium Armor on my Fire/Nrg Blaster. They cost a good bit but I liked the bonuses
Little side question, what are those +def PvP IOs going for heroside currently. I have a DM/SR and if I spent the inf to grab this IO I could crank up the global rech to above 120% before hasten
