  1. I'm making a WM/WP brute, and I can't decide if I like the Fitness Pool or the Fighting Pool better. I know I won't be picking both. Stamina isn't a factor as much as 3 slotted health is, or 4 slotted tough and 4 slotted weave.

Basically I can't figure out if the Fighting pool will give me greater surviveability via high endurance cost mitigation, or the Fitness pool will give me greater survivability via the health boost for regen. (If I go Fitness, I'll likely skip stamina for hasten.)

    TIA

The game mechanic was badly broken prior to ED and the GDN. Dumpster Nuking wasn't a tactic, any more than boss farms are a tactic. It was a fast, boring way to earn gobs of xp with very little risk. At least the boss farms require interaction by the team. Dumpster nuking just needed a tank and a blaster, with a bunch of people standing around doing /emotes. Missions were a joke, with tanks insisting that everyone "wait at the door". Teaming to actually run missions as intended was either done with like minded friends or solo. It was as bad then as the boss farms are now, but at least boss farms require input from most of the team.

AOE's have a limit based on the type of aoe.Targeted AOE>cone>melee. I don't recall the limits because it doesn't affect how I play.

Those were not AT nerfs, they were game balance changes (good ones). They affected all AT's equally. Controllers got hit the hardest, becuase they had AOE controls doubled in recharge time AND had duration cut in half. The GDN didn't just change tank defenses, it also hit scrappers and pools. The taunt limit wasn't a nerf. It didn't reduce a tanks ability to do anything but taunt more than 5 foes.

I like how those arguements are ALWAYS qualified by a with.

Brute SS KO blow at the damage cap outdamages any blaster attack at the cap.
Corruptor blizzard at the cap is the single most damaging AOE attack in the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

IOW, Brutes/corruptors WITH enough buffs to hit the damage cap.

Just a note blasters aren't actually the damage kings, they are the ranged and aoe damage kings.

  10. QR I think is quick reply, meaning not in response to a specific post.
  11. I have a mix of common IO's and SO's, I'm not ready to delve into sets yet.

My ST attacks are lunge and impale.
Both are slotted for 1acc 3dmg.

No pool attacks. I tried jump kick, but it kept knocking teh boz to teh moon. (I respec'd out of it for hasten).

I turn off whatever toggles I don't need, I leave the damage aura's up. Usually murky cloud, CJ, and acrobatics, situation permitting.

Notably, I've never done this, but I know that with a crashless nuke there's no loss of dps (the rest of the sets you'll have to slow down)

    [/ QUOTE ]

    For the OP:
There are ways around the end crash after a nuke. Most noteable and constantly achievable are consume and power sink. Catch a Breath plus either power with 3 mobs and you are back to full endurance immediately. Of course you have to take /fire or /electric for this to work, but either secondary would work well on farms.

Another way is to get in synch with the transference users. PST the kins to let them know you want to use nukes a lot, and bind a key to send "nuking" to the chat, or use your battlecry. Then find a living mob and stand next to it until transference hits.

Just out of curiosity, how much end redux did you put in your attacks?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd have to check when I get home, but I know I have AT LEAST 1 End Red in every Attack (not including toggles.) Some might have two. Plus I have Conserve Power on 3 recharges.

The conundrum I run into every time I play is this- the build is very dependent on inspirations to help manage health and end, and even chopping through mobs, I use slightly more inspirations than drop. So invariably, I get to the point where I have little to nothing left in the tray.

At some point in battle, both bars drop to about 1/4 or so, and there's that very uncomfortable decision. If i use Dark Regen (2acc, 2Rech, 2ER), I'll blow out my end, my toggles will drop, and I will follow them. Or worse, DR hasn't recharged from the LAST time I used it. If I attack, I can use less endurance and hopefully take out a few, but it doesn't mean they won't take me with them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I slot dark regen for 1 acc 3 end 2 recharge. I slot every toggle with 2 endredux, but I still don't have click attacks slotted for enredux (yet).

I use greens and blues almost every time they drop, unless I happen to be at full health or end. I also tend to turn off Acro and CJ once a spawn is at least 75% mezzed.

My biggest problem is the lack of Single Target damage, which is a big hole in encounters with tough bosses. Then the end costs really bog me down, and since all the minions are dead long before the boss is really hurt, I've got nothing to heal off of.

    Tornado damage

Toss it on an immoblized AV or EB and you'll see it really does a lot of damage. It doesn't look like a lot when it's flying all around a big spawn, hitting a foe for a couple of ticks, then moving to the next.

If anyone has a YouTube video of a /DA NOT sucking, I'd love to see it.

    Does this count?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yep.

I have a 39 spine/da that's not nearly as fast as what you have going there. Impressive.

    Blappers??

I play an nrg nrg blapper from time to time that's a lot of fun. I didn't take hasten on that build, but did get tough/weave, and will take the cold mastery pool. I only have 2 ranged attacks+nova, but there is plenty of hard hitting stuff in the secondary to rip a boss to shreds quickly. Air supreriority+power blast is great for a soft control, and the damage output and secondary effects in the other attacks make for a lot of fun.

Oddly this blaster does much better in teams than solo.
  17. No, you owe me an apology. You made me spit coffee through my nose.

    Silly boy.
  18. I just got my ice/storm corruptor to 26. The 12-20 range for this particular toon was the most difficult I've played to date. Once I got the second rain, things got a lot easier, and then SO's took me from that cheesy defenderish play to wow, kinda blastery now goodness. When I team with anyone, I bring plenty of damage and mob debuffs, and solo is no trouble at all.
  19. I'm confused. Why would you worry about hitting the defense cap if you are duo'ing rads?

RI by itself with 3 so's is -39% to hit debuff, isn't that the same thing as 39% defense?
  20. Also, If you click cancel instead of accept, the SG colors won't apply.
  21. You'll have more love for weave. Damage resistance means you get hit. Many many of those hits will be carrying a hold, sleep, stun, fear, knockback, immobilize, endurance drain, slow, accuracy debuff, damage debuff, recharge debuff, recovery debuff, and maybe 3-4 of those at 1 time. And, the mezzes will toggle off tough, which means it's not working anymore, so you'll have to retoggle it again after it recharges, until then you're taking full damage.

Weave means you get missed more. Which is better. For a blaster.

Kranik, are you ever going to publish a guide on solo'ing the ITF with a blaster (for dummies)?
