I need advice on building a character just to farm inf. I know i know I am a bad person but I need Inf for IO's on my other toons. Would a blaster be better than a controller at farming? if so what kind of blaster/controller is going to be best to take out large numbers of mobs?... thank you in advance.

Arch/Ment
AR/EM
Fire/Ment
Fire/Fire
Ice/Ment (but it needs work especially recharge)

Personally I have never enjoyed farming with a fire/kin. Just don't care for the rythm.

Edit key powers will be
Ar/ment ROA+Psy Scream
AR/EM Boost range, Full auto, buckshot and flame thrower
Fire Ment, Fire Ball, Fire Breath Psy scream (this order)
Ice/ment Alternating chains, Ice Storm, Frost Breath, Psy Scream and frost breath or icestorm, blizzard

this. with a moderately good defense build (sets giving 15-20% ranged defense), and the rest focused on +recharge bonuses, you can plow through 6-man spawns with little difficulty.

Notably, I've never done this, but I know that with a crashless nuke there's no loss of dps (the rest of the sets you'll have to slow down)

For the OP:
There are ways around the end crash after a nuke. Most noteable and constantly achievable are consume and power sink. Catch a Breath plus either power with 3 mobs and you are back to full endurance immediately. Of course you have to take /fire or /electric for this to work, but either secondary would work well on farms.

Another way is to get in synch with the transference users. PST the kins to let them know you want to use nukes a lot, and bind a key to send "nuking" to the chat, or use your battlecry. Then find a living mob and stand next to it until transference hits.

...There is, however playing the game. Quite a concept, really.

I deleted a 49 fire/kin because I didn't like the way it played. Rerolled as a fire/ss tank.
