    If I understood what I read about a value added tax (and I may very well not) it creates a deadweight loss without a shift in supply/demand, making me think it would be just a big influence sink in CoX.

    What do you economists think the effect on market prices would be from a progressive, cash basis, value added tax on market transactions? Would they escalate to cover the loss of profit, or would they fall in response to the pressure?

    Does confront pull only a single target from an unaggro'd spawn, or would I be able to aggro a large portion of the spawn with it by hitting a boss or LT for a corner pull?
  7. I wasn't comparing, just listing reasons why "play villians" isn't really that attractive to me. I should have been more verbose.

    It's not difficult to reroll. But it is impossible to see what the changes would look like in city light.

    Speaking of kill X in Croatoa..I hate being in the wrong neighborhood for that stuff. Striga has some pretty bad spots as well.
  14. If you see that all of a sudden there are 10 of those same TO's for sale, someone is likely fishing for your xfer. Step up your bids from very very low to whatever it takes to buy all of them. I wouldn't have guessed this to be that common, but of the 15 or so market transfers I've done, I've had it happen 3 times.
  15. The problem with Blazing Aura is that it only has a 7ft range.

    Hot Feet doesn't come into play until 38.
  16. I like chaining AoE attacks.
    I like standing toe to toe with large numbers of foes.
    I like kiting really tough foes with SS CJ Swift and Hurdle across the rooftops of PI.
    I like dive bombing into a horde of badguys and setting off instagank powers.
    I like watching Mass Confuse at the AoE cap.
    I like fights that end with me winning at 1 health and 1 endurance.

    I dislike long drawn out ST fighting and most AV fights.
    I dislike low damage AT's.
    I don't like using pets.
    I don't like using immobs.
    I don't like low duration team only buffs.
    I don't like steamroll teams.
    I don't like chasing teammates around a map.

    I mostly play blasters, offenders, and AoE scrappers. I have a couple of non-fire non-illusion controllers. I have 1 tank. No doms, brutes, stawkerz, MM's.

    It delivers a LOT of damage over time. More damage than any other single target, and for less endurance. If you look at the ticks as individual attacks, then yes, it looks underwhelming. But if you take a period of time such as say, 1 minute, and count up the damage and endurance cost, then it's got big numbers. Add in multiple targets and it gets pretty crazy.
  18. If you're goal is end drain as a method of control, then short circuit is a must.

    I like LF as a damage aura because of the radius. It will also tick a bit of end off the targets it hits.
  19. Not sure I understand what it is you are trying to communicate. I think you are saying that my example of hazard zone hunting is a poor reflection of set performance. That's fine, that's your opinion. My opinion is that any toon that can easily solo a spawn with a mix of bosses, lt's, and minions in a size beyond what is encounterable in solo missions is performing well.

    I didn't say mind out performed. I said it is on par with the other sets. Some sets are better in damage, but lack controls. Some sets are better in controls and lack damage. Mind has a nice mix of both. What's the problem with that? "Mind is boring" doesn't mean it underperforms.
  20. I have yet to feel "useless" as a mind troller. I always open with Mass Hyp, which at best eliminates the alpha on the lead teammates, or at worst spreads out the damage spike to easily manageable proportions and multiplying by proxy the effectiveness of the defense or damage resistance of the tanks/scrappers. I can eliminate the damage potential of the worst foes, or better yet, turn them into allies. Sappers? Glad to see ya. Stop an added spawn in it's tracks? No problem. Reposition an annoying group of enemies? Done. Shut down multiple single targets? Done. Provide cover for the "back line" while the melee guys mix it up? Done.
    It's not necessary to have the ability to lock down multiple spawns (as with earth) in order for mind to bring plenty of equally usefull abilities to a team. Mind does it differently, and with less "flash" than earth, but it does it just as well. Some of the powers in the mind set require a better player at the keyboard than earth does, but that doesn't mean the mind primary is "lacking".
  21. Funny how I'm able to solo hazard zone spawns in CF with my underperforming damage lacking mind troller.
  22. AOE blasters. 1 fire/fire or fire/mental, Arch/Nrg, and AR/elec.

    But like Zanth said, 2 girl scouts and a trained monkey would work.

    But then there's the fact that you don't ever need to go into the market or have any recipe or peice of salvage drop to slot single origin enhancements, which are the baseline of how the game is balanced. If you want to be more than baseline, you have to do more than baseline play. Wants vs Needs vs Expectations. You expect to be able to "get up to gear" without having to do what others have done to "get up to gear" even though you don't NEED to "get up to gear" in order to play effectively.
