I sent you a comment in-game, but I'll go and answer your questions here.
1) Should there be more combat, or do you think it has enough?
Yes, it definitely needs more combat. The first mission was practically devoid of any combat at all, and the second and third missions didn't have a lot of it either. While story-oriented players will really like your writing, I think the XP-oriented crowd will be disappointed by the lack of enemies.
2) Did you find the final mission too easy/hard/just right?
My DB/EA stalker had very little trouble with it. I just popped a purple and started whaling on the EB. My build isn't fully specced out yet, so I'm sure the average player should be able to handle it.
3) Should the time limit be shortened/extended/leave it as it is?
Forty-five minutes is plenty of time to complete the mission. But if you want to make it longer, an hour would be perfect.
4) Did you think a convincing argument was made for picking either choices?
This was probably my favorite part, having a multiple choice ending was great. I think some players might actually find it hard deciding on what to do. So, yes, I think a convincing argument was made. =P
5) And just for fun, which choice did you make?
I picked option number one, aka, beat up the boss and leave things the way they should be. I would rather leave things alone then start messing around too much, so going the natural route and leaving things the way they are now was my best bet. =P
All-in-all, I think the arc has a really great chance of winning the Aeon challenge. I'll be rooting for you! -
I would love for you to find out how a character can survive only on power pools and multiple brawl powers. They would be gimped beyond comparison, and would serve no purpose on a team. Pathetic attacks, mediocre heals, and a bunch of sub-par utility powers. Doesn't sound like a very good mix-up to me.

Does this mean my ATI Radeon X1650 will become obsolete? I can run the game with max settings now, but I'm not a Graphics guru, so I don't know what will work and what won't...

you deleted your character three times just because you were too lazy to actually walk to the contact?
I feel like I should post something about being barefoot and snowy hills... -
No... just no... for the love of all that is sacred, HELL NO!!!
Seriously, if they actually started selling this, I would probably drop my account in an instant. This idea is just... horrible! Is this some kind of joke?! I sincerely hope it is, otherwise is would be very smart to get your mind out of the disgusting gutter it dug itself into.
Wow, I didn't think a single post could make me be so rude...
No strippers in my game please, kthxbai. -
Wow, I can't even remember a time where I had that much fun! I'm still in shock that we actually succeeded though... but man, that was exciting!
So now I'm 28 merits richer, have a bunch of awesome badges, roman armor, and awesome pictures.
Speaking of which, here's one.
We won!
Characters from left to right:
Proto-Zero (me)
Xippo-
Sister of Battle
Deus Ex Stone
Skrunger
Sensory Deprivation
fix't. Thanks, New Bee. =P -
just be creative with your name. Use a thesaurus, use name generators like Seventh Sanctum for ideas. Combine words if needed, like Decimation and Mistress to make Decimatress. If you're still truly stumped on finding a name, feel free to post your character concept here and we can give you some suggestions.
I haven't really had any problems finding names for my characters. Sure, an awesome name that I wanted has been taken numerous times, but I simply changed the concept around a bit to get an even better name.
Recent names I've claimed
------------
Chemical Spark - Rad/Therm Corruptor.
Sovereign Creed - SS/WP Brute
Desert Spear - BS/WP Stalker
Pain Shot - Ice/Elec Dominator
Lethal Trauma - Claws/Elec Brute -
Wow, could the walk animation for women be any less casual?
The walk animations are just plain embarrassing as they are IMHO. I really wish we could have different walking emotes, I just can't stand the ones we have now. -
I can try to be extra-cautious with my Stalker, but there are no guarantees. *snicker*
Proto-Zero: Level 37 DB/EnA Stalker. -
Be sure to study hard and try your best! I'll be heading to college very soon (so long, High-school!) and if you can't afford extra entertainment, then you just have to let it go. (At least for the moment. =P)
So long, we'll all be anxiously awaiting your return! -
Quote:I am well aware of the Vanguard and their -resistance attacks. *shudder*I predict additional hilarity when you take him to RWZ and run into some of the specialized Vanguard types (rangers, sorcerors).
However, the -defense of the Cimerorans was a surprise to me. -
I finally hit level 35 with my DB/EA stalker yesterday, and I decided to check out Cimerora. Now, before I get to the actual question, let me start off by saying that my Stalker is quite hardy. I can solo missions set for five players, and rarely ever die. I've been ambushed by multiple mobs set for five at a time, and emerged victorious. During a mayhem mission, I was ambushed by Aurora Borealis in EB form, as well as two groups of PPD and Longbow, still set for five, and I still managed to survive. I'm not trying to brag or show-off, but you get the point that my Stalker can solo pretty well. (Some of you may think that's not impressive, but it is to me. =P)
So anyways, I get to Cimerora and I get my first mission against the Cimeroran Traitors. The mission is still set for five players, +0 levels, and I enter not knowing what to expect. The first mob nearly tears me apart, and the second mob kills me, in less than fifteen seconds. I figure these guys are tough, so I lower my difficulty to what was once known as "Villainous" in the olden days, Level +0/x1 players. I engage the first mob, and I get slaughtered instantly... on villainous.
These guys seem to rip right through my defense like wet tissue-paper, and their extreme damage attacks don't help much either. What's the deal with the Cimerorans, and why are they so impossible to kill? -
They currently have no in-game appearance at all. Their powers are entirely up to you to make up, as all we have are simple plaques that tell us something cool they did. Their costume colors aren't defined either, so the guy saluting in Steel Canyon could be wearing hot pink for all we know.
So, you're just going to have to make stuff up. There is no information on them at all besides the few plaques scattered around the city. -
Quote:This is pretty much the same way I feel. I could have sworn my account may have lapsed for a day or two, and I'm a bit anxious to see what happens.Tomorrow is the moment of truth, then. I'm praying like hell for this, as I'm selfish and want in on Going Rogue beta. However, although I think I was active the whole time, I'm paranoid that it lapsed for a couple of minutes or something between my previous paid time ending and my automatic paytment for the next group of time.
Ah well, tomorrow I'll find out. :x
Either way, between veteran rewards, these badges, and all the neat info they "leak" for us, it's nice to see that the developers really care about their player-base!
Thanks for the info, Niviene! -
According to the ParagonWiki listing on the Hero Slayer badge...
Quote:Almost any hero can count for the badge. there are a few obscure heroes that don't count, but most of them do.HOW TO GET:
Defeat 25 heroes from the end of mayhem missions.
In general, any enemy from the groups Freedom Phalanx, Vindicators, WISDOM, or Paragon Heroes count.
NOTES:
Does not have to be Signature Heroes, or of Hero rank to count. Any end-mission heroes in mayhem missions count, as well as a number of heroes from other, non-mayhem, missions.
Demons summoned by the hero Infernal count as of Issue 7 and Tuatha summoned by the hero Woodsman reportedly count. Other good places to find groups of enemies that count include the Lord Recluse Strike Force, signature heroes in Recluse's Victory, and the Take out the Vindicators mission from Abyss. -
Quote:I'm guessing this is some kind of joke about Sarah Palin's new book being titled "Going Rogue."Hey folks. I'm a republican and all, but not a Sarah Palin fan. I think her book name taints Issue 17.
I can't wait though to see the Praetorian Sarah Palin's running around.
Unfortunately I cannot find a single trace of humor anywhere in this post... -
I was doing a Mayhem Mission today with my stalker, set for five players and +0 levels. I got to the vault, stole the money and then Aurora Borealis appeared. After defeating her and all of the PPD and Longbow she brought with her, the mission wasn't completed. I searched all over for a stray Longbow or PPD minion in the bank, but I didn't find any. I looked around outside for a lone Longbow running away, but there was nothing there either. Eventually, the timer reached zero, and I ended up failing the mission, even though I defeated the hero and all surrounding minions.
I was thinking this could be a bug with soloing a mayhem mission set for five, but I don't see why that would be the case. Was this just a one-time glitch? Is there something else to the "Defeat hero to escape" objective other than simply defeating the hero and the surrounding mob? -
I'll toss in my vote to bring them back too. Have the option to disable comments, so that if you don't want to see them, you don't have to.

Quote:I'm not going off of any official evidence, just my last experiences with them. I seem to recall mostly Vampyrs and Galaxy's in the 50 range, but I am probably wrong on that. =PI've had entire runs of Council missions where there were 2, maybe 3, non-robots (with their 50% lethal resistance) on the map. That accounts for Hoverbots, the 3 flavors of mark * bots - which aren't just minions - and then you still have the annoying puppies thrown in the mix, too, but at least they resist everything.
Council is not a neutral group for lethal in my opinion. Circle of Thorns, past level 40 when the ghosts stop showing up, Carnies, and... uhm...
...well, do you like cave maps? -
I'm not sure I understand either... because Trailblazer is the last badge in the set. There aren't any other badges for getting more than 200.
-
Well, first I'm going to take the simple explanation and use the acronym.
MMORPG
M - Massively: The game can support an extreme amount of players, many times going to over 1,000 players logged on at the same time, depending on the number of subscribers.
MO - Multi-player Online: While the game can be played solo, the real fun can be had by getting a bunch of friends together for play sessions, or even teaming up with total strangers for a single mission. The Online part is pretty self-explanatory.
RPG - Role Playing Game: An MMORPG game is unique in the fact that you actually feel like you're in the game, in a way. The customization abilities allow you to truly create a second version of you in the game world, and interact like you normally would in the given circumstances. Everything in the game is usually in character (aside from player interaction) and you generally get a good feel for the game you're playing.
Now, yes, MMO's usually include the thing you listed in the interview, character progression, crafting, banks and auction houses, but to me it's much more.
I think the whole concept of MMO's should be about the RPG part that everyone seems to leave out. How far does to game go to make you feel like you're actually in it? This is the reason RPG's are my favorite type of game, the immersion is so great that it's almost like visiting another world. Another important thing I consider is expansion. RPG's like Knights of the Old Republic have a practically infinite number of ways to play through the game, you could be good or evil, fight with ranged or melee weapons, wear light or heavy armor, and every choice you make affects you in a different way.
This is also true for Co*. The sky is the limit when creating your character, all the way from Arch-type, to powersets, to the certain powers used, and how they are slotted. There are so many ways to play the same exact character, but there are also enough options to make creating a whole new character easy and fun.
But most importantly, a MMORPG is all about teamwork, and playing with friends. Sure, you could go and solo all day long if you want to, and that's completely reasonable, but when you get together with a large group of friends, whether they be friends in real life or friends in the game, the adventures you share with your companions are what really makes the game truly worth-while. Sure, I could get a couple friends to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare with me, but the joy of playing with your own completely unique character and all of your friends original creations is what makes playing an MMO truly satisfying for me.
Sorry for writing a whole essay on What makes an MMO, but I think that these points are what really make an MMO stand out amongst other game genres. While you do have to pay a monthly fee, the game is bigger than any other game out there, and is infinite in expansion. You can reach the level cap and keep going from there to make your character the absolute best you can make it, or you can just hang out and do things with friends. So, all in all, it's really the Multi-player aspect and the sheer uniqueness of an MMO that makes it stand out from other games. -
They're going to make a mutation pack regardless of whether or not people will complain. Since they made four packs for the Technology, Magic, Science, and Natural origins, a Mutation pack is pretty much guaranteed.
