Don't know about anyone else, I purchased extra enh slots when they were recently on sale and still I only purchase enhancements in groups of ten, this due to 50% forgetting at time of purchase and 50% just plain habit lol

Quote:No No and more no, Their policy's are great for people in the NA, but completely screw over the rest of the world.I personally think that every single MMO studio that can manage it (i.e. All of them), should have a community management policy at least approaching what Paragon has. I honestly think it would not only improve game quality, but also improve the community. Think about it: What MMO has one of the nicest communities? City of Heroes. Which MMO has the most involved Community Managers? City of Heroes. I know correlation doesn't imply causation, but it does waggled its eyebrows suggestively and mouth "Hey, look over there!"
I have been treated better by community teams and devs in other games, the only reason I stick around here is because the game and people I team with on my server rock so much. -
Yeah have seen all that stuff many times before, just wondered what was so great about soft capping def, I pretty much rely on getting a medium amount of def, regen and resistance and works far better than most soft capped def alts.
With the new incarnate content I seem to be well over performing soft capped def players. -
I've never understood this def cap approach, been playing over 7 years now and not on 1 of my alts (49x50's) have I even bothered to attempt to soft cap them, not once have any of my toons not been able to pull their own weight. I believe people try to make this game more complicated than it actually is, it is quite amusing later on in incarnate content how def seems to take a nose dive and quite a few people struggle to cope without their "soft cap".
Is the soft cap on Def 40%?, what if I only have 38%, does it make much difference, if it does I've never noticed it. -
Quote:That's all well and good if there is a sequel, seen so many comic movies flop because they haven't put good enough villians in the first film.Judge Anderson being in this first movie gives me hope the sequel will have Judge Death since she was instrumental in stopping him the first time he appeared.
I would predict the sequel will have Judge Death and if there is a third it will be all of the Dark Judges.
Superman is a good example of the way people want their villians in a movie.
Superman 1, Lex Luthor, ok apart from the brain this villian isn't going to set the screen on fire unless he has his suit etc.
Superman 2, General Zod and lackeys, think everyone's favourite superman movie, Villians that can go toe to toe with superman and portray that on screen is what I want to see.
Superman 3 and Quest for peace, I'm going to skip these as that's all they are worth, now if they had put Bizarro instead of the sham in QOP you would have had a movie.
Superman Reboot, pretty much the same as the original, now if the 2nd reboot can be as good as Superman 2 we are looking good, but they need to put flashy high profile villians in, A hero alone does not make a movie. -
Why do Comic movie's have to beat about the bush, Stick Judge Death and his Judges in against Dredd and you got a movie, playing about with 2nd rate villians never appeals to me. Get the big bad's up and running from the get go and then you got a basis for futher sequels. Star Wars never done bad out of it and can think of many films that followed suit that was also a success.

Am I the only one that looked at this comp/giveaway and just thought this was way too much effort to bother with?
Birdy's go tweet not me. -
A power set is as good as the person that uses it, regardless of stupid numbers, it won't be obsolete with me till I get bored with it.

It would need the entire Defiant list to move over.
I tend to always put quality before quantity. -
A couple of thread I've tried to look at on forums have brought up this message.

My friend really wants a Red Jelly Baby, unfortunately you can't buy them individually, so now he has to purchase a packet in the hope he gets a Red jelly baby in it.
My other friend has just got back from the casino he bet his house, car, children, he's complete collection of Prisoner Cell Block H DVD's and he's underpants he has wore for 7 straight years, he gambled on Red.......
I can tell the difference. -
Quote:I used few as an low estimate, it could well be nobody buys them as they may hold the same views as me.ROFL! Sorry but it will take a lot more than "you and a few others" not buying packs to end the profit they are generating for the company.
The people that "gotta have it now" have always and will always outnumber the people who have patience.
Super packs have been an obvious success any changes towards what will be available after the packs are discontinued could (IMO will) damage a successful product. -
I spent close to £100 on getting the BLack wolf via superpacks under the impression these wouldn't be available in other means.
They can put Black wolf on market for hundred pounds worth of points, or for the next bunch of super packs I won't make the same mistake and I dare say there will be a few others that will wait.
Thus ends super packs and the profit they make towards the game. -

In MMO's this is pretty much as standard, 14 years ago I used to play a game called Meridian 59, the same thing happened which resulted in a mass exodus from EU and Oceania players, the result was the game folded (shame really, was a legend in it's time). Shockingly 14 years later companies still haven't learnt the lesson to be able to work around these simple things. Outside of Asia, MMO's will not last basing it's market towards 1 country and needs the support from others continents to thrive and develop, especially when the game is designed towards a niche market.
-
Anyone know what the freebie was this week, and also what times are these given out. I am from the EU and have just finished work 18:00 and nothing free is showing on the market, did I miss it, or has it not been put up yet.

Been here since Beta, Can you have my stuff?............................................ .. Yes once you prise it from dead decomposing corpse.

I noticed some mention large spawns as being a problem, but for some AT's especially my hero main Warshade, I rely on large spawns to make my job easier, an Av battle where he is the only one in a room is alot harder for me without having minions about to use, so large spawn are not necessarily a bad thing thing all the time.
-
I like my story arcs to be as tough as I can make em, I try to immerse myself as if I was within a comic when I play them, and when it comes to main Heroes within a comic none are easily taken down within 1 minute of a fight.
For me I have to have them set to AV just so I know my villain has accomplished a worthy achievement, having the main Hero set to EB or below is just a waste of a battle for me and makes my accomplishment of completing the story arc seem worthless to me, having said that I understand people not wanting to go to the extreme and just want to crash through the arcs so I got no problem with the Devs making things easier for others, as long as it dosen't interfere with the way I play. -
Quote:My persecution complex ended when I thought my money was as good as the next man's regardless where I'm located, Or is it?If I were to guess, I'd wager that when they merged server lists, it was either all EU players keep their names in the case of a conflict or all US players. Were that the case, then the smarter choice was to favor the larger and "local" player base. Get over the persecution complex will you?
-
Quote:What I found unexpected was that I've spent close to a thousand pounds on a game to be told sorry your losing your name, in my case to someone who opened a trial account to grief and nothing was done about it.Ah. I'm not sure what that has to do with the topic at hand, but okay. I can understand why it worked that way, though. Paragon, being based in the US, was preferring the "home" players over the "away". That shouldn't be unexpected.
In my business I prefer to look after my loyal customers rather then someone that walked into my shop for the first time yesterday, luckily it seems to work for me.
If I adopted NCsoft's approach to my customers, I'd most probably have my windows smashed and my head caved in. -
Used to pvp quite a bit when it first came out, then a group of morons decided it would be fun if they ganked anyone who came in zone, so quite a few stopped pvp'ing, last I heard was the ganking group crying because nobody came in zone anymore. Not sure what they expected but some people's mentality is beyond understanding.

Quote:They would have to do something that would not affect players names, from personal experience of the sham that was the global name merge, it took a direct hit on my home server, as many were disgusted by the way we were treated, and as other servers may not have noticed this much, we sure did.First, it's only some players that reject non-unique names. Many players actively want to have non-unique names, and many players don't really have strong feelings one way or the other: there are pluses and minuses either way.
Given that names on each server aren't truly unique (Sally, Sa11y, S4lly, and Sallie aren't unique in any meaningful sense), I would wager that most players find the argument moot.
Second, it seems unlikely that at this stage of design the devs would (or could) be able to definitively state that cross-server teaming would mandate non-unique names across all servers.
Obviously, characters with the same name from different servers participating in the same cross-server instance would require a mechanism to make them unique within that instance (perhaps based on server of origin or global name). But one could certainly envisage a system in which their name would remain unique on their home server, or a system that requires players to choose a unique cross-server character name if there's a collision the first time they join a cross-server instance, or some kind of "seniority" system based on character creation date.
Players who do not wish to suffer the indignity of having their name qualified by some ugly differentiating decoration or the slight of taking a different name could simply stay on their home server.
But this is all idle speculation at this point, because we don't really know how the system works internally and can't really know what sorts of limitations the devs have.
Instead of dictating design decisions to the devs, I would instead propose a basic requirement for cross-server teaming: no characters should be required to have their name changed on their home servers. And the corollary is that anyone who never teams across servers will never notice a change, or know that they have doppelgangers with the same name on other servers.
Giving the players a chance on losing there main characters names could well be the last straw for many on my server, which would offset any positives from cross serving teaming.
