  1. You're right, the game is pretty loud, but with Win 7 and Vista too (I think) you can open the volume mixer in your system tray and lower the CoH volume to a fraction of the system volume. This should leave other applications like Vent or TS at the 'normal' volume you'd like, while keeping CoH from shattering your eardrums.

I don't think they expected me to actually *look* at the "Thank you for reactivating Aion!" email.

Had to do what was mentioned above - thank god I had my old emails - and support was very nice and professional about it. They reset my passwords, then offered to stick a ban on my Aion acct that can only be lifted if I call in with all my info again and request it be unlocked. Which I was very happy to go with.
That is EXACTLY what happened to me, only, they changed my account email as well, so I never noticed the reactivation notice. Just by stupid luck did I check my Ncsoft account, and was unable to log on. Anger Ensued.
  3. One time during one of my many times away from the game, my account was hacked by some lousy Aion farmers and my account was banned/locked. Like the others mentioned I had to contact support and provide them with a LOT of information in order to get it returned to me. Luckily I had kept the emails from 04' when I first got the game. I was shocked that I was smart enough to actually keep those emails. So unlike me... :P

These are client-side recording options, they generate no additional server-load. The load bottleneck will occur on your video card probably (For FRAPS) , and depending on your system specs *may* get a little choppy if your video settings are on the high side, therefore if your videos or gameplay get choppy, turn your settings down and give it another go.

    Hope that helps.

    Shadowy presence

I came to the foums to see if anyone had a use for this power.

I see we're all in the same boat on this one.

    Home Run

I agree, I'm very impressed with what I'm seeing so far. Nova Praetoria is beautiful. The missions and the stories are very well written so far. I'm a happy camper. Wonder if the wife is gonna let me game all evening? I hope so.
  7. I did exactly what you suggested OP. My heal key is 7, and the target arsonist is CTRL-7, making healing him pretty easy. Those keys get a lot of use.
  8. My account was hacked about eight months ago (stupid Aion farmers) and in discussions with NCSoft, they asked me these questions as well. However, it was in the context of the NCSoft ticket support system, and not via email. I had no problem providing the info on the 'My Tickets' page of their support system, but I'd never reply with that info via email.

Thank you Krogoth, it makes sense to me now.
  10. I'm an old noob, and as an old noob, I haven't been around to learn certain things until now. It's with that disclaimer that I'd like to know if anyone else is having an issue with their Jounin's caltrops?

Specifically, when he throws them, they appear to last on my screen for maybe 5 seconds, then they disappear. At first, I thought this was simply a graphical issue but when I checked the pet combat log, the caltrops damage does indeed end after only a few seconds.

According to the icon tooltip, it looks like its supposed to last for 45 seconds. Is the tooltip wrong, and it only lasts a few seconds?

Is anyone else noticing this, or is this simply the way it's supposed to be - and the tooltip is incorrect.

    Thanks!

Thugs aren't noisy, bulky cow monsters, so they win.

Demons are almost as irritating as Bots. Don't know which Dev decided to make them screech every 10 seconds but they're on My List for all the nightmares they've induced in me over the last 3 months.

Muting the DemonSummoning\DemonLieu_Taunt_01.ogg will provide you with a much happier DS experience. Yes, that idle scream they do is most irritating.

The second tier pet so far is more eager to go into melee, but I have adapted my gameplan so far and that hasn't been a problem. I can't wait till this guy is lvl 32 and I see what a decked out DS/TR MM is capable of. I'm very impressed so far.
I made it to 33 with my DS/TR before constantly having to shield everyone drove me insane. I remade the DS with the DM and Pain secondaries and am enjoying those a little bit more, with the /pain probably being my favorite. YMMV. You'll like the Demon Prince

Overall, I agree with the others who have said DS is more of a jack-of-all-trades and Thugs are more of a damage primary. The arsonist simply drives me nuts though. He's fantastic to watch, but seriously, if you're not micro-managing the crap out of him, he's toast. Ugh!!

My experience isn't the greatest, but so far I prefer the DS over Thugs, but it's very close. The Demon Prince is an awesome, awesome boss pet. However, the bruiser is no slouch either, he's a lot of fun too.
  13. Wow Culex, thank you so much for this. This is a number lovers dream come true. Just yesterday I was wondering if such a thing existed so I could optimize damage for my lethal-dealing minions, and presto, I found this. Thanks again!
  14. I just came back to the game after about 5 years away (left right before I6 and ED was released) so I was pretty amazed at the cost of things nowadays. Thanks for the guide. I ran a few of the AE arcs (including the OP's one..nice work!) and used the tickets to post a few things to the Black Market. I made a couple million relatively easy, so thanks a lot. For everyone that is experienced with this type thing, it's probably common knowledge, but for an old-noob like myself, I found it very useful.

    Ty.

It was driving me crazy too.
