  1. Looks cool. I just wish they'd tone down the Thor angle.
  2. I have ME and ME2 on Steam, and I'm not really going to bother with ME3 unless I can add it to my collection there.

    Thankfully, I'm a patient guy!

Maybe it's my affinity for epiphany therapy colouring my perceptions more than a little, but if anything, at least it seems like a reasonable fall from grace to go from one extreme to the other.
That's because, ultimately, side switching makes very little in-game sense. Going from hero to villain is really really easy: Just walk out into the street and kill a random dude. There, done. Going from villain to hero... not so easy. The only really "realistic" way I see a villain could redeem himself both morally and legally is if he had access to something that the authorities wanted/needed badly enough to grant him immunity from past crimes.

Vigilantes and rogues really shouldn't be transition alignments, the way I mostly see them treated these days (presumably due to hero/villain merits). I think they should be independent alignments you could start as and stay as if that's what's right for your character. I remember a lot of initial complaint that there was no reason to be a hero or villain any more, though, so this might be our own damn fault.
  4. Too bad they removed the scale. It wasn't that much off!

    The Sash

I'm all for the carnie sash being ported.

Aaaand, while we're on the topic of costume pieces from the carnie pack that should be ported to males, I just want to throw the Carnie masks in there as well. My guys have wanted proper masks since, well, before I saw my first Carnie!

So. Here's hoping for a lunch-drought at Paragon Studios so Dink will have more spare time to work on this!

Does that mean they are going to delay i22 'till the 9th in Europe?

I think you've spend too long on other forums. You should hang out here more!

That said, I think you bring up some valid points and definitely good feedback to the devs on how it feels to return from a long absence. Some of the issues you are experiencing are definitely due to the premium setting, some may be because you've been away for a while, so if there's anything we can help with, be sure to ask. I'm sure some of us might even be willing do give you a quick run through Mercy to familiarize you with the new zone layout.

I don't think "decent" is the word you're looking for.

But yeah. I don't know if I expect her to get better, but I sure hope they are going somewhere with this, other than cheap shock value.

  16. On my male characters, I tend to increase the physique a fair amount, then reduce shoulder width and chest a lot, and hips a little. To make 'em buff, without the Sponge Bob proportions.
  17. As for Hamidon raids vs. Incarnate trials, I think the main difference for me was simple: Hamidon raids didn't offer anything I cared about, and the presence of that zone was easily ignored (I've never even been there just for a peek). The Incarnate system does offer something I care about: Advancement. New powers. New content. The difference between a level 50 and a level 50 with a little plus next to his name is staggering, and that does visually impact my gameplay.

So yeah, for me the two systems are so different they barely belong in the same universe. Hamidon was easy to ignore, Incarnate trials are painful to ignore. This is a balance that other games have managed much better than CoH does: Sure, raid content exists. It's content I will never see, and loot I will never have, but in other games they have managed to segregate the whole thing to the point where I just don't worry about it. In CoH I do worry about it.

I don't like having content I can never take part in rubbed in my face constantly.

I always thought Shia LaBeouf would make a great Han Solo.

    Seriously? "God Mode"?

I think the "problem" is that some people have difficulty with the concept that people have different likes and dislikes.

I've been enjoying the game for close to eight years without problem, and I don't really need your permission, or understanding, to enjoy the game for different reasons than you.

You just need to accept that most people aren't you.

Not to mention that CoH is the only game that seems to be moving in this direction.

WAR came up with the concept of 'public quests', which was really brilliant, but it wasn't long before it became obvious what the disadvantages were... if there wasn't people enough around, you couldn't finish the last stages, an issue exaggerated further by dwindling subscription numbers and little incentive to roll alts to keep the low-level zones populated.

Even WoW had to move away from their 40-man raids because they were simply unmanageable. Today, the most common raid is the 10-man raid, which is practically a regular CoH team.

Where everyone else seems to be reducing the reliance on other players (because time-zones, future population, etc., make the availability of other players unreliable at best), CoH has taken a step in the other direction and increased the reliance on other players. And it's not like our population numbers have been sky rocketing before of after the Incarnate raid content.

I'm sure there's some thorough business analysis behind all these changes, but I just don't get it. It seems to go against every trend out there.
  23. Speaking of sexist costuming, here's Thor's new outfit.

I just fail to see why idling in a corner should reward you for your leadership and organizational skills.

And I don't understand why they had to invent a raid mechanic when our normal team size is already practically the size of a raid in other games. Normal teams work perfectly fine, and your contribution on them actually matters. If Incarnate content had been team focused, I might actually want to play through it.
