Well, we have good Statesmen and bad Statesmen, but... Is it just me or is Lord Nemesis evil in absolutely every dimension?
[/ QUOTE ]
D'youknow, sometimes I wonder if Nemesis doesn't genuinely think the world would be even better off under his rule - and that surely that warrants a few sacrifices to achieve. Of other people, natch.
Sometimes, though, he's just goofy. -

More stuff with the 'generic' Paragon Heroes and Rogue Villains enemy groups.
What's up with Comatorium?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, what's his story? I busted him out of prison, and he went and de-loused me! His backstory must be unearthed! -
You know, an island ruled by David Bowie would see a lot more heroes and villains signing up than any of the leaders we've got now.

Reminded me of the Crey scientists and techs - I was thinking an Ice/ Controller.

I've been toying with the idea of a Lost/Rikti/Freak hybrid. R1|<71P|-|R34|<!

D'you know, I think there might be different mechanics in place for different pools. I'm 99% sure there's full 3D movement in Cimemoran water, but you sink to the bottom in Grandville water.

Don't worry about it, 'Candle Jack' is just one of the less obnoxious internet me

Those new story arcs are really quite good, too. Plus the new maps are very pretty.

Depends on the nature of the temptation... all of my heroes are fairly conscientious, though my Blaster has a few unresolved issues and my Warshade is more in it for the action&adventure than any strong moral conviction. Similarly, I've a couple of villains who are more rebels with hair triggers than actually malicious, so they could go either way.

The OP: Hilarious!
My take on Praetoria: rather than the various fascist powers of WWII, I'm seeing an analogy to the Roman Empire (not that the two aren't intertwined, in RL history and even more in CoX - the very fasces being a Roman symbol, the 5th Column's actions in Cimemora, what relation that might have to the Coming Storm...)
...where was I? Oh, yes, Praetoria. The name itself is Roman, as is 'Tyrant', and so seems much of his rule - peace and prosperity achieved by dissolving competing interests into the will of the dictator. An alternative to both Paragon's regulated-but-imperfect democracy and Arachnos's social-Darwinian power struggles; ergo, potentially appealing to the dissatisfied among both heroes and villains. If it's much like Rome, then anyone willing to work for the imperial good might well be given the opportunity - thus, defectors like Maelstrom. And the emperor would certainly be able to indulge in his own... peccadilloes... such as Dominatrix. (blegh) -
Of course, that'd probably leave your waiter eating microwave noodles...

My first and simplest choice for new decorative items: doors and windows. Not functional, not for doorways - just regular-sized ones to put in rooms. Make the base look like it's actually part of the city, that it opens out on somewhere, and that it has rooms beyond the big ones filled with high-tech Stuff.

Name: The Hermetic Order of the Gilded Pangolin
Recruitment Status: At the moment, we're a SG of one account (my fiancee and I, and alts); two if my brother joins up; that said, like-minded applicants would be welcome.
RP Level: RPing is the funnest part of the game! That said, it is just a game, and sometimes you just want to have a natter about meta-stuff, or whatever's on your mind. RPing welcome but not enforced.
PvP: Not a fan, myself.
Theme/Concept: From the panelled smoking rooms of late 19th century Europe, the Hermetic Order of the Gilded Pangolin is the esoteric society's esoteric society. A union of noble mystics, occult scholars and spiritual seekers, the Pangolins are
dedicated to the divination and application of the divine principle of the collectivity of being, and to countering the impact of those who act without wisdom.
In other words, the Hermetic Order is a loving parody of ritualistic secret societies, ideal for history and philosophy nerds. I figured it was rather appropriate, given CoH's New England setting. Tweed, reading glasses and dusty books abound. The base (which is, at the moment, under renovation, pending Issue 13) is heavily inspired by the monastic cloister, academic quadrangle or Chinese siheyuan.
Activity: Suit mostly solo player who likes having someone to chat with, perhaps aid in the odd mission.
Requirements for Membership: To be honest, anyone who WANTS to join a tiny, strictly casual SG based on obscure but funny history, they're probably qualified. That said, for the love of both God and Pete, be polite, be friendly, act smart.
Leadership: C'est moi.
In-Game Contact(s): Sir Frederick Chook
Out-of-Game Contact(s): PM me, yo.

Coalition(s): None at the moment, but offers welcome.
