    Yup you can. Do mind, you have to do the alignment twice, once to become a villigant (or so), then a 2nd time to become a true villian. To return, again do it twice (villain -> rogue -> hero).

    After that, it doesnt mather what side you are, when you respec, you have acces to patron and epic pool.

    (as a bonus, old days you could only unlock the patron for the NPC you were doing the mission for, now once you done the missions, you will unlock all 4 patron pools).

    Freedom i could understand (busy one), Union as the crowded EU one too.. but Defiant? Ghosttown server went down?

    Less then earning now? Very very unlikely. Respecs, slots, powers, hell even entire IO sets can be bought from the store, additional to the VIP players continue to pay their monthly sub.

    Let me point out a minor aspect of 'free player' of CoH Freedom:

    Free Players:

    Free players are automatically Reward level 1 which is unlocked by creating an account or already having an account.

    • Cannot use Invention Origin enhancements
    • Limited Drops (Only small inspirations, no salvage, no recipes)
    • No Trading
    • Influence Cap (25,000,000)
    • No access to the Auction House

    So not untill they unlocked these features (premium points) or go VIP (sub), they wont have acces to such. I believe the majority of new players will be free players, examples are enough to be found from all previous MMO's that went freemium.

    Totaly agree, it only fixed parts of the AI of MM pets.

    Sometimes i believe the custom mobs in AE seem to work better then the various MM pets.

    Anyway, when do we get this stuff back? The day they removed it (actualy it was a day to early), i ran into the problem my 4th account doesnt have GR thus cant do alligment mission.

    The popup still directs you to the store, yet the product is gone. I believe all VIP will get GR for free, but im not really happy waiting days maybe weeks to continue my character.

    There is quite a difference between calling out for a healer and claiming you need softcap for Trials.
  11. For my mercs, thats good. Retarted AI still thinks a rifle should be used at melee ranged.

    Bright side, Oil Slick can also ignite by itself, not sure if this is WAI but happened to me quite often.
  12. Out of the box there are a few sets that can perform with plain IO's without any intensive need of inspirations.

    Inv tanker gets softcap without problem (weave and CJ 3slot added) and has near cap SL resist. In such, SL farm maps are easy (pop a green once in a while). Brute version lacks about 10% defense, 1 purple should work that out, maybe add a extra orange to get hit less hard.

    WP tank needs 1purple/1orange along with the basic defense powers to do +2 without any problem.

    Shield can hit softcap, but the lack of decent resist can be tricky against +2 bosses, green and orange adviced. However, with /elec, can do quite alot of damage.

    Yeah, they dont kill as fast as SS or claw/fire brutes, but then again, they wont die that easy if you run out of inspirations.

    (inspiriations based on +1 and +2 x 8 ambush).

    There are still many powers they need to look into, but they probably never will. Epic pool for blaster has such gimped powers in it (EM Pulse, repulsion field, repulsion bomb). Then again, Frozen aura for blaster never got the damage as Tanker's version (it wont really break the damage-balance, since /ice is one of the weakest already), /TA since the day they released it has still issues (floating mobs and the ignite power combined with pets), while other powers became somewhat obsolete or their counterpart has a way better version (timebomb versus MM's detonate), or the gun drown with a retarted 6 sec interuption timer. I can continue, MM merc heal, it even interupts when he is hit by a non-dmg ability, while they did change that non-dmg wont interupt such anymore.

    Maybe in time, some day, they would give old sets or outdated powers some attention, for now.. they just focus on new sets, new stuff, more money.

    (like fire shield, how to explain a new player with no acces to IO's that he has to use combat jumping and acrobatics to not being tossed around as a tank against knockdown/back/up and immobilise?)

    With 75% resist you should be quite ok 90% of the time, as long you dont push the lvl+ too much and keep your defense softcaped (or nearly). I gave it a go earlier on my Archery/mind, redraw is very annoying and Archery has little to no good AoE (except tier9 nuke), still i could go around for 3-4 minutes untill i ran out of inspirations.

    Could redo my build and get more base defense (weave/CJ/manu), then i could jump around with just 3purple and 1 orange (hitting 62% resist atm). But then i would pick my elec/mind, better AoE and end-drain is good to stop them once in a while with attacking.

    Only problem is the base 120sec with 30sec duration, with 3slot recharge i still need 30secs to overcome the downtime, as i didnt take hasten

    Trial times

    I basicly moved entirely to US servers, mostly Freedom. At evenings in Pocket D there are multiple trials running and recruiting, tons of teams going around (apart from AE offcourse) and several TF's at any given time. Also, my favorite, tip-teams.

    Nothing fancy with special channels to join, just the help channel for the majority of getting a team together.

    Forcefields indeed did get a BIG boost.
    That was not a specific FF boost, all shield powers have gotting this ability, wich comes from the MM upgrade chance (old days u had to upgrade your pets 1 by 1, now its 1 cast, all pets upgrade).

    All nice that knockback is great for solo and survivability, in big teams its bad. Quite some tanks rely on having mobs in melee, willpower for regen, inv for defense, shield/ice for defense/damage-debuff, soon energy for recharge.

    Unless someone is a very very accurate knockbacker, the chance someone will knock away a mob from tank's melee is far worse then keeping down a few mobs (wich most tanks can do also with a nice knockdown - or earth trollers).

    A good knockback player will pick up the mobs that might hurt the tank most (psi mobs, debuffers) and will take it down. It will keep the mobs busy that the tank cant get in time.

    The recharge/inspiration issue, thats the server at the moment. Seems like this since the latests 'hotfix', today there will be another major upgrade, hopefully they fix this.

    Last night i was in Galaxy City afk for quite a while, never a crash. Same in atlas, crash within 20 minutes. Would imply it is depending on what it has to draw on the screen, more effects and goodies, more likely to crash (like the trials have a 100% chance here to crash at least once).

    However, it only affect 64bit, no mather how i stress my 32bit windows (Ati 4870), it wont crash.
  24. Zone teleport isnt really that much, it is a huge recharge clicky that allows you to travel from 1 zone to another. A temp mission-teleporter (instant cast now) is more of use.
  25. Necro filled up with thermal does pretty nice too, final upgrade gives them a self heal (not that super), but combined with the lich fear and hold, graveknight knockdown, they wont die that easy.

    If they die, you can resummon a ghost from it, they even have phasechange.

    But without secondairy, i go for bots. A heal, very nice def bubble and pretty good AI (unlike mercs who randomly run melee and the retarted medic with interuptable heal).
