Yup, altoholism just pulled out his toll.. massive lack of infamy. Most of my toons hitting lvl22/27/32/37 soon and need the caring of SO upgrading.
So to my fellow-villains, how to get good infamy (prefer solo)? I got alts to feed
Minor problem is the fact most of my toons are MM's, wich perform totaly bleep when exemped (SO-buff is close to 0% when you exemp down - loss of big pets), my brute is stuck at lvl21 (and 9 bars) due lack of infamy of his SO's.
Since my highest toon is 1 bar to 34, i cant do the "cap lvl and keep doing missions", something in CoH gave me millions already.
Any suggestions? -
Brute is a bit weaker then a Tanker, but can pull out way more damage (due fury). Fury currently is bugged in PvP, wil be fixed in Issue7 (it doesnt build up fast enough).
In PvP they are kinda weak currently, due the uberish toggledropping-chance. Again, will be fixed in Issue7, then they will be far stronger then now.
Brute is a semi tanker/scrapper, like a stone (GA) brute can perform extremely well as tanker, other Brutes have a slight bit more problem with it. They do have taunt but have no Gauntlet like Tankers (punchvoke inherent).
Great solo player, Issue7 brings a new elec set for the brutes (both armor as melee). -
lol the hype of naked ladies is over already for a loooooong time. Now you really gotta be original with some cool outfit

I can supply you some influence?

with Super strength jab/punch/haymaker you can last for very long. Recharge is nice, damage is good. I even went up to lvl32 with just jab/haymaker and fighting pool punch (oh and brawl).
KO-blow can be added later, it takes quite some end-usage and not untill SO's you can take it down alot. Handclap is a kinda take-it-or-leave-it power, great in small rooms to disorient the mobs a while, but once you get footstomp (lvl38) handclap becomes a bit obsolute.
Hurl is another power like handclap, animation is rather long but it does look pretty cool. Downside is a few lvl's later you get your epic-set, wich are mostly ranged powers anyway (earth starts of with hold/imm powers). -
Basicly 3 res-SO's is already hitting the ED-cap, adding more then that will only boost it about 0,2-1% extra.
So a 3res-enh and 1-2 end-reds in the toggle-resist/def powers is more the way to go (same for invinciblity, add a end-red instead of 1 acc). Tough hide is a def-based (5% iirc) to overcome the -defence from unyielding. RPD can be used to hit higher s/l-resist, belive it only boosts 10% resist when 3-slotted.
Unstoppable can go 3res/3recharge, then you hit cap already.
I would go BU, with ET/TF and BU you put out a massive ammount of damage, add a whirling hands after it and you got great damage output. energy torrent can be a annoying power, since it does a aoe-knockback. In that case you can loose aggro for a bit. -

Burn gets a boost in i7 dont it, as in fiery embrace and build up works on it plus eventually you can get a hold in an epic pool later on. But atm its a pain being a fear+repel, if your immobd in a herd and need to get your aura around the bulk of it burn will only make them scatter which makes them all run out of your aura.

Is there any link about that I7-boost? Havent read anything about that thus far. All i read was the delay-reduction of a few /fire powers.
Burn becomes very usefull if you get over your head in mobs, pop burn and they will stop attack you for a while giving you time to heal/regen abit. And most are still stupid enough to come run back and execute a power, during the whole animation they still get the ticking damage. -
slotting frozenfist, icesword and CE all with slows, you can nulify most mobs recharge
Add Shiver and they cant even move anymore.
But thats PvE experience, never tried PvE -

so please DO NOT 1 flame me for this and 2 DO NOT attack me or other players that post in responce to it,

Oh yet you are allowed to do so? dont come with such bullcrap.
6 months everyday on a MMO = boring. I never try anything higher then the 3rd difficulty, even in the 30+ zone. Got mostly MM's, yet even then i just cant handle anything higher then orange to fight. As for stone/stone.. those are the strongest brutes ingame, likewise the GA's in CoH.
You think its easy boring and dull, others enjoy each single minute they are playing, some even on lowest difficulty (like i do).
So at the end, if you dislike it so much, why still playing? -
I still have another mission 'defeat seaweed', maybe thats the badge one?
-
I go check my chars now, see if i need a minor bit of lvling.
Update as we go:
* Seaweed - First mission of the yellow car? Got it ready on EncoreX
* Mask Maker - got the contact, now to get mission on InfernalX
(update, get stuck in a bloody mission.. defeat all in a lab)
* Stone Cold - have to get contact, then to get the mission on (some alt i have)
* Strikebreaker - have a lvl20 alt, dont know if i get this contact fast
* Agent of Discord - have a lvl25 alt, need to finish some missions of Vargas to get Kirkland
* Soul Taker - how to get that contact?
Gonna do a TF now first, later i continue -
if i can join,
MaceX as tanker or SinergyX as Blaster, what most is needed -
As long the disorient bug is still around, whirling hands is imho the worst aoe power brutes/tankers can have. They more likely to run away with speed of light then sticking around you.
-
Besides is Eden Trial not realy a good example of tauntless tanking since 9/10 times you are fighting way over your taunt/aggro cap (specialy near the walls and Titan room clearout).
-
If all mez-resist in UY is the same, it should be 4. I could hold a inv brute with 3 hold powers stacked (mag6).
-
I'll browse my alts tonight, i think i got the first 3 ready or getting soon.
Agent of Discord i should be getting soon, just got that contact. Stikebreaker i finished 2 days ago -
afaik GA has been left alone since I4, not considering ED.
So i gues combined with ED, it looks like its the most balance power in the game -
funny how to change a topic, by just saying 'its AT's job to...'
-
Isnt the job 'keep squishy alive' alive the job of a healer (in any form)? It is team play, if a fire blaster is just too damn selfish to wait for a tanker to take alpha strike.. gratz on the debt.
Then why in all cartoons, comics etc.. stateman is never tanking _all_ mobs? He is a tanker afterall? (ya i know the anwswer.. he doesnt have taunt).
*protecting the kitten*
I partied a few times with Kitty Summers (i think thats the name), who so far i've seen dont have taunt. I am a nrg/ice blaster, no mez protect, no mez attack. Still, only once i died against an AV.
Making you 'less tank' with not having Taunt? No, a tanker can still do what he is ... Tanking. Like defenders are seen as healers, without heal he's lousy.. No, they are all the same, they 'defend' the team (either buffs or heals, they defend). -
12 -> 9 doesnt look much.
But a Fire blaster hitting you for 600 (asume) damage -> 400 damage does make the difference.
You can really expect a 12 dot going 1 dot from just 1 single armor (outside GA - or click power). Lets keep some balance
Stone tankers/brutes are bitty squisy during the road to granite, but those armors they get are mostly even stronger then other armors from the other sets (while those are their main armors). -
And so, God is out to kill the entire Kitten population in the Galaxy. Shards.. beware, he's comming
Think about the poor kittens.. -
Click person -> check target window -> Tanker
Rightclick person -> info -> AT = Tanker.
No mather what powers he picks.. he IS a tanker.
If he is a usefull _tanker_, thats another question. -
I dotn know what travel power you currently have, going for SJ (CJ and acro), i believe acrobatics gives disorient resist also.
But once you get invincible (i hope that is the correct name), wich grants you defence for each mob in melee range. Going straight to melee range should give you sufficient defence to block out most chances of dissorient.
Like in PvP, an NRG melee can overcome your mag-resist to dissorient by just a few blows (TF is mag3 i believe, rest is mag2).
Maybe focus on powers that can knockdown/back/up, or any form of making mobs unable to attack for a few seconds. This should hopefully gives enough time to let the current running dissorients to wear off. -
That might be the thing. Stacking up dissorients due lower defence (easier hit), but Unyielding has a mag4 resist on that right? So that means u need at least 3 dissorient powers active. Or pop a BF just before you encounter them to get a way higher Mag-resist.
My trick was always to run straight to melee range so they wont use their stupid stungrenade.
