Flying Fire/Fire tank concept build.
Burn gets a boost in i7 dont it, as in fiery embrace and build up works on it plus eventually you can get a hold in an epic pool later on. But atm its a pain being a fear+repel, if your immobd in a herd and need to get your aura around the bulk of it burn will only make them scatter which makes them all run out of your aura.

Can you use burn in the air? I thought you had to be on ground.
Shame there's no call for or space for superspeed... the trails left through the air by a flying, superspeeding tanker would be quite superb!

AFAIK you can use it flying, as long as you are close to the ground.
I have myself been trying to revive the fire/fire tank I've persuaded a mate to roll a fire/emp troller and have herded, 17 at a time, ourselves to 31
Heres a quick plan of what I would do to 38 carrying on with your build:
22) --> Breath of Fire==> Empty(22)
24) --> Burn==> Empty(24)
26) --> Boxing==> Empty(26)
28) --> Tough==> Empty(28)
30) --> Build Up==> Empty(30)
32) --> Fiery Embrace==> Empty(32)
35) --> Hasten==> Empty(35)
38) --> Incinerate==> Empty(38)
Possibly even take Fire Sword instead of BU or FE for more single target damage.

Is there any link about that I7-boost? Havent read anything about that thus far. All i read was the delay-reduction of a few /fire powers.
Burn becomes very usefull if you get over your head in mobs, pop burn and they will stop attack you for a while giving you time to heal/regen abit. And most are still stupid enough to come run back and execute a power, during the whole animation they still get the ticking damage.

Although unmentioned in the patch notes location based powers such as blizzard and burn are buffable.
I personally think burn is worth taking just for when theres a troller in the team. Now its buffable it does just as much damage as fire sword circle but is autohit

If your going to build a fire/fire tank then you will need the fighting pool fire tanks are not that good with out it now.
Also going for fly as your travel power will you also be taking th leeping pool as you will need acrobatics unless you want to spend alot of time on the floor.
Also Burn is not worth getting any more even after i7 its still no good the recharge rate sucks as does the damage out put thanks to ED and every time you drop it bad guys run 2 miles away from you, its shame to use to be such a great power.

True about burn, 3 slotted i never managed to kill a even lvl minion with it. In a team with a aoe-imm controller it gets kinda usefull. Yet even with BU, it only brings back pre-ED values, whereby burn damage already been nerfed.
I mostly use it for the static pets (DE thingies or items to be destroyed) or as panic button to get mobs of my back for a second.

No way. I'd rather abandon the character than take acrobatics.. Hover works as anti-knockback very well. It only stops working when you get a -fly power on you ( damn those Tuathas ).

I think I'd rather get burn as my immob protection than Combat Jumping or Weave. Getting combat jumping means not getting Hasten later on and Weave is quite expensive. I would slot it for recharge and hope it is up when I get immobolized. I don't know whether you have had this but an immobolized tank is really screwed up.
However if this doesn't work well I will have to respec and go for Weave instead. Does anyone know the immob protection duration of burn?

Never knew burn gave imm-protection, but i gues as long the icon is in your icon-bar, wich seems about 10 seconds (or bugged sometimes over an hour). Yet the executiontime of Burn is quite a bit, wich are precious seconds when you are in the heat of battle.
CJ has some added extra's, bit of defense a higher jumping (ok useless...). My build seem to be able to get hasten/jump-set and tough, yet no weave.

i found the jump and fighting pool necessary on a fire tank as you are more squishy than some other sets and without acrobatics you will be on you [censored] a lot , i got mine to cap just after ED nerf and if the rumours about burn being un nerfed a bit will be glad news
bring back fire tanks !!!!

sorry to have to say this but the fire sword powers are the main damage dealers of fire tanks i still find burn handy but acrobatics and combat jumping does help quite a bit from knockback

This is a CONCEPT build. I know the Fire Sword powers are good because I have a Inv/Fire tank, combustion and fire Sword Circle are about equal damage-wise on him, I am relying on Blazing Aura to help make up for FSC. On this character I don't want them on this because they break the look.
Combat Jumping does nothing to knockback. It helps against immobs.
Hover seems to deal with my knockback problems quite well, the only time I am in trouble is when I get -flyed. Taking acrobatics ( 3 powers and a whole power pool ) will take too many powers and will wreck the build.

I quite like the idea of concept building the firetanker. i may do something very similar now. im thinking of skipping fitness (dont have it yet) and fight pool (nor that), if it dont work i can blame it on being a concept. I'm too tempted to test life without the "must haves".

I've tried, but it just doesn't happen, so I drop hover, initiate burn or icepatch, and get knocked back which leaves my burn or icepatch in midair between where I started, and where I landed. This is undesirable, and seemingly inescapable, unless you want to pop BF's beforehand.
If anyone has EVER landed eiter patch while hovering, please enlighten me. Otherwise, those descriptions are great big fibs and always have been. I've even /bug'd them.

Well I'm getting Burn next level, so I'll let you know. If it doesn't get rid of the immob problem I'm probably going to ditch the toon, tanking without immob protection is a nightmare. It's not as though I have much to lose.
Generally I am close to the ground most of the time, flying is mostly a gimmick..

Oh the immob protection seems effectively permanent - it lasts longer than the burn patch and I've only seen multiple CoT dark tentacles actually manage to snare me, and using burn always breaks any existing immob AFAICS.

Currently endurance is fine, hover speed is a tad slow but I get SOs soon so that will improve. I use fly to bosst my speed in mission and turn off Blazing Aura when not in combat.
One challenge I've had is immobolises, from those irritating Galaxy troops. I have a choice of 3 powers to deal with that, Burn, Weave or Combat Jumping.
I am considering getting the fighting pool, I feel too squishy at the moment and it looks like I'll be able to afford tough endrunace wise.
I'm trying to work out if Hasten is a good plan. If I get Burn for breaking out of immobs it may be a good power to take as it will allow me to use it more often and make it a decent attack power when in a team with a controller.
I need to work out what to get next, I'd like to get Breath of Fire soon, I need more single target damage and the short cone may be okay for getting 2 or 3 enemies, also it might be useful for kiting bosses. I should probably get tough soon too.
So any suggestions for my 22-30 build?
