New to Tanking

1. I have three slots in resist physical damage because it seems like a solid choice. Am i right and should I add more next time?
[/ QUOTE ]It only takes resistance enhancements, and since I6 3 SO's of one type is the optimum slotting.
[ QUOTE ]
2. At the moment I'm concentrating on defenses with a plan to look at boosting my attacks later. Good idea?
[/ QUOTE ]For teaming, yes, although you won't be as effective solo.

2. What should i get when the power pool appears? I usually get concealment to help get around the Hollows.
[/ QUOTE ]I wouldn't get concealment for a tank. Flight has air superiority as pre-requisite, which is useful. Fitness pool is always nice. And of course hasten from speed can be very handy.

3. What travel power is advisable for this kind of character? I'm thinking of flight or leaping but would appreciate any comments.
[/ QUOTE ]Flight and SS have the most useful pre-requisites, but SS suffers for vertical travel.
Hi Doc,
Well, cocerning Resist physical damage, in my opinion, it is not solid at all... The main powers in Invulneravility are Temp. Invulneravility, Unyelding (THE POWER) and Invinciblity...These 3 are a must powers. RPD is a power to choose later...
Thanks Maximillion
Just the kind of info I was looking for.
Doc
invic aint a must have if you relie a lot on taunt:P...I never REALLY noticed the def bonus..but thats just me I guess...its probaly better combined with tough hide..
I any case you would agree that Temp. Inv and unyelding are a must (much more than RPD).
On the other hand, I've invincibility and it is extremely useful...Specially when teaming...as missions are usually crowded.
The defense buff of Invincibility is definitely significant in a well-sized crowd.
During the Pocket D Valentine missions with the Red Caps, I rarely got hit by any of the foes... minion or Elite Boss - unless Rage crashed and I received the temporary 20% DEF debuff. Then it started hurting - at lot! - until the debuff weared off.
It rate it as much a "must have" as Unyielding.
I think all powers are pretty much needed (except for resist ELEMENTS (energies is more commin imo)..I can take aggro a lot without invic since my second set is aoe based which gives you a lot of aggro already:P..still having it on safes the squishies so is a good thing to have:P...
and yes...RPD is a need since most of invul res is based on lethal

still the max defense buff from it is 15% (I read something about it but it should be higher)...and since Unyield gives -5% its not really noticable..but that can als be just me:P

with Super strength jab/punch/haymaker you can last for very long. Recharge is nice, damage is good. I even went up to lvl32 with just jab/haymaker and fighting pool punch (oh and brawl).
KO-blow can be added later, it takes quite some end-usage and not untill SO's you can take it down alot. Handclap is a kinda take-it-or-leave-it power, great in small rooms to disorient the mobs a while, but once you get footstomp (lvl38) handclap becomes a bit obsolute.
Hurl is another power like handclap, animation is rather long but it does look pretty cool. Downside is a few lvl's later you get your epic-set, wich are mostly ranged powers anyway (earth starts of with hold/imm powers).

Never ever heard that before... the maximum obtainable defense buff being 15%.
What I have heard, though, is the power affecting 10 foes in range, giving a frontloaded buff (6%) for the first foe and a lesser buff (1,5%) for the 9 remaining. Unslotted, this results in a defense buff of 19,5% - and a massive 30,66% when 3 slotted with +2 SOs (this is of course providing you're surrounded by 10+ foes)!
Subtract the 5% debuff from Unyielding, and you still have a good defense buff from it... especially if you also have other powers like Tough Hide and Combat Jumping running. It all adds up.
It's definitely noticeable when surrounded by foes - and of course not so much when there's just one foe.

Seconded.
I've recently created an inv super str tanker(lev 4) and would like any advice people have to offer. Here are some questions I have:
1. I have three slots in resist physical damage because it seems like a solid choice. Am i right and should I add more next time?
2. At the moment I'm concentrating on defenses with a plan to look at boosting my attacks later. Good idea?
2. What should i get when the power pool appears? I usually get concealment to help get around the Hollows.
3. What travel power is advisable for this kind of character? I'm thinking of flight or leaping but would appreciate any comments.
My characer is a tech armour wearer and any choices i make will try to fit in with my concept of the hero. I don't really rp as such but I try.
Thanks
