Inv (together with ice) has something special on the taunt-arua.. a tauntaura that your actualy need. The Inv one gives your great defence/acc for each mob in melee range to each element except toxic/psionic. Ice has Chilling embrace, wich slow/debuff recharge massive and a nice -dmg debuff at all mobs in melee range.
With those aura's running you already become a 50% tanker while still can play your complete own style. Inv can become a quite end-heavy buid (Temp.inv is a end-eater, other 2 are avarage/low - but has 3 auto-powers) if you add tough to hit s/l-cap resist. But slot them alot with end-reds and maybe a few extra in your attacks and you shouldnt have that big problem to get around (as tough isnt really needed when going solo).
And if it really goes wrong, hit Unstoppable and become a capresist-all insane axe-wielder
Both basicly a part of the core build (tank or scrank or midsize) unlike fire (bl.aura is only damage, end-heavy) or stone (mudpots does slow, but again end heavy).
I have a lvl18 inv/axe tanker, with the right powers you can create very nice damage output and still can take massive ammount of damage.
sorry for the bit messy post, its late -

i've got a /psi dom with shockwave if he wants to see

I would like that badly
The demo line only shows the graphics, but not the player animation/sound (i used firering to replace it with :P) -
elec secondair is extremely strong. Havok punch/Thunderstrike can compete with Bonesmasher/TF easily as TS even is a AoE wich makes it even better, Powersink is great after a nuke (1 cab and hit the remaining mobs). Lightning field is a nice anti-stalker power. And if you still not believe the strength, to pvp versus plight.. he hurts
As for sonic/, ice/ice blasters are king and lord of the mezz'ers, easy as thatSonic debuff basicly fills in the base-lower damage each power has, together with the fact you just have to love the sound/animations of Sonic (wich i dont - specialy that warwolf sounded one).
Fire/fire is a bit more resource-draining, all those fire-bits flying around can make a slow PC get a big hickup. Second, fire/fire has no strong mezz-powers (except a pbaoe knockback and a imm) but has 1 of the better Nukes (a non-KB version) wich you can combine with several other aoe-powers the whole set has. A good player can become an awsome fire/fire player, mid-range player often ends up with perma-debt.
/energy has great melee with high stunrates, a great boostrange power, conserve and my favo Powerboost. Powerboost should be combined with a set that actualy can use it, such as Ice or Elec primairies. Boostrange is great for cone/snipe/shortrange powers, as it can be perma'ed with just 2 SO's (using TP as travel power you can become the fastest moving AT ingame).
As scrapper you like to be up and close to mobs, i would say Elec/elec and slot all draining powers 3-endmods. This way you can basicly stand next to a boss who just dont have any end left to even hit you.
Single target blapping, i would say ice/elec or ice/nrg. Ice prim for the slow and holds (and still great dmg) and the /elec or /nrg of the high blapping damage output. -
Million of alts... sigh you. For the list:
Mace X - 21 SS/stone brute
BroozerX - 16 NRG/regen stalker
Sinester X - 34 Robot/poison MM
NurishaX - 27 merc/TA MM (hello debuffs)
NarushaX - 13 ninja/dark MM
MikaX - 10 ice/thermal corrupter
EncoreX - 16 robot/dark MM
That's about it i gues, so at any lvl i can help around when needed. My next plan will be a .../psionic dominator, i soooooo badly want that final psionic power, i'm totaly crazy about the animation/effect. Probably a ice or something dominator. -
Its wasnt really that he could take me down fast, except for a massive ammount of icons of debuffs my char was getting.
I've been playing around with the .demo files and replace the FX animations to get it showable, but i just cant find the name for the shockwave animation. -
Simple and easy,
Do what you want-think-like a tank should-would do.
It is called playstyle. -
Shadowshards - Sinergy X reporting!!! i still need those 3 (or 4?) TF badges.
For the screenshots, any prefered background? (white or black or green or orange or yellow.... or blue?) -
Ice isnt realy shiny, it get overloaded with icy effects all around (most 32+ ice tankers i cant see their character anymore). The shiny-style armor would still be Inv-armor, but you dropped that.
-
I went for a inv/axe tanker, so far i know axe has a bit more damage then mace and nearly each attack has a knockup/down effect (no mezz powers though, unlike SS EM or SM). Axe imho looks also a bit better
Stone after lvl32 is by far the most tankable tanker, though sufferes alot penalties (-slow -recharge -jump -sprint -dmg -other armors). Pre-32 you can still come around 'ok'. Magic suits Stone armor i gues, like the earth casters of CoT and you use 'the earthly powers' to get your shields (specialy earth embrace is 'magical'). Also the psionic defence armor is pretty magic-style, floating little purple stones around youDownside would be Granite, as you loose your knight-looks and become 1 big pile of rocks.
Fire is imho the weakest of the tanker, no HP-boost but a heal-power, with use of tough you get a decent s/l-resist and cap fire-resist but the rest is allround decent.
Ice gets a big hug in Issue7 due the new defence-math-thingie, i gues they become more favorite once I7 hits live. Cap-ice resist and the rest is 100% based on defence. -
lol plight, i didnt make it a big day.. just another year and the weather was [censored] so we had a bad OMGBBQ!!11eleventyone1! this weekend.
As for the healing, X3 hit 22 yesterday and got him ready with 3heal/3recharge SO's on both healpowers, he's ready to start big healing. Downside that my attacks are pretty g1mp3d so i want to do that 24 respec asap.. or just wait for free issue7 respec -
I was with my blaster in Warburg, as this dominator (fire/psionic) attacked me. He did this (my view) serious totaly awsome animated power, wich i'm now kinda looking for what power that is exactly.
He makes a loud cry, few minor psi-effects around him and go stand in a way i havent seen any power before. Its a bit similar to the way the ghosts of CoT die, hopefully i wrote it a bit understandable
Anyone know what power i'm talking about?
Based on hero planner i think its Drain psyche or Psyche shockwave, but i dont have a dominator to test/see. Anyone that can make make a demofile of (what i think it was) the aoe powers of the Psionic attacks?
big thx -
Its not like we have to build rome in 2 days, the progress bar did move quite a bit the past few days. I'm about 7 bars till SO's so i can start healing pretty nonstop (though empaths in the 20-range are a bit less populair it seems).
And its my birthday today so i except alot of SO and influence presents tonight -
The seller is very near the entrace, at the corner next to a drone. Though the Heroes need a certain ammount of wins to be able to buy the temp.powers, so its not always available.
(its 30 mins realtime btw, so if you log off time continue you tick away). -
I would say, ditch SS and take CJ/Superjump wich safes you 1 power to pick less. Swift&sprint should give you sufficient runspeed to get around quickly. Resist nrg 3 slotted gives a good addition to your (quite low) nrg resist, would be nearly 30% when you got that 3 slotted and afterall next to S/L its the most common damage ingame.
Conserve i never really liked, i had the space on my /nrg blaster so i took it, but the recharge is annoyingly long. Foc.Accuracy need some bad end-red slotting, it drains your end bigtime.
Then when you get TF/ET, you might can take out one of the other melee powers (dont know wich you have atm) so you can pull some of the powers back into that spot. Reconsider to go for the full fitnessset for stamina, specialy for foc.acc. In that case 41 would be Foc.acc and 44 conserve. 47 for CJ and 49 for SJ. -
Sinergy reporting on his 2nd PC
As we speak my new setup is getting Windows being slapped on, we're talking X2-4200 with a blowing 7900GTX (and offcourse 300GB raid setup, 2GB dual channel and pimpin G15 keyboard). *pimp mode over*
I've been boosting my tanker a bit, he's a few bars from 17 now. Once i hit 18 (invibility) i go back to my healer, since i made a minor mistake on the attackpowers (that rad-snipe power is pretty lousy...). With my Sin-style-lvling (copyrighted u know..) i should get my healer soon into the SO's-range, to get more healing going. After that i start testing in the arena where my healer will be nonstop poundered by Sinergy (or mace, since sinergy does slow) and auto-self heal running. Once i know the HP/M (healpoints per minute) i can start putting them nonstop at night to get us faster to the badge. We are about halfway, 5million to go. Quick counted i can do a 10x200 heal per minute (2000) making a 60x2k (120k) per hour. Doing that 8 hours long (when i sleep) and we should get the badge in less then 5 days.
*reads back, hmm.. i talk alot*
Anyway, cya when my comp is up and running again. -
Fly is the most easiest since you also gotta fight some high-air mito's. Being in a team with a Group-flyer would help that alot.
The final Hami-whoopin you dont need a specific travel power since you can hit it while standing on the ground. Do mind that scrappers/tankers/non-holders only have to hit hami once and get back to coward-platform to reduce lag to a minimum. -
sorry, forgot to post
Did only a quick test, the ticks seem to be around 0,5-0,7 seconds and it was quite hard to get a working AS. Then i tried the jump from above and spam AS when you hit the group, about 5 of 10 times i actualy managed to hit.
Then i put integration back on, was nearly a always hit. -
If the s/l resist gonna be comparable to the fire or dark set, just get a broadsword/regen scrapper with a empath fort buff. Even tough wont hold back the damage they can perform
Else we just send out the ice/ice blasters -
The aoe mez powers from epic has reduced acc.
*got a inv/axe alt*
I'm leaving RPD and going for the punch/tough road. An attack and having more resist -

Sorry, I just meant throw it up and take it down to move and throw it up again. Like I did for a couple levels before swift.
Anyway it seems the jury is still out on how well I'll be able to hold aggro without TP. I'll try to see how well this works without TP then. If it does work I'll be one happy camper since according to my calculations I'll basically be the best of SR/Regen/Invul sets put together.Meanwhile the -dam is negated by perma-Rage and the -recharge by Hasten and recharge SOs. Just leaves that pesky slow.
If it works I fully intend for this char to go toe-to-toe with Statesman.
[/ QUOTE ]
I can already tell you, hasten only helps you when its up, but its far far far far far far far from even close to perma. 2 recharge SO in each power only brings it back to nearly base value's, making powers minor slower then they normaly are. Having hasten gives you great time of attacking, but once it runs out all powers become annoying slow on recharge.
The -dmg from Granite should be easily overcome with upgoing Fury, since you can take quite alot of mobs to get that Fury running.
Outside that, how are you able to get up higher or lower places in Granite? You need to go out of Granite/rooted to get up some places, making you totaly unresisted to any form of Mezz. And the most important thing you forget, -slow debuffs.. Ice attacks, kinetics, TA, many sets can slow you down to a nearly halt. -
The rare FF/Dark defender made his/her superduper ding in the middle of the night, after some bad AV-wacking
So a big gratz to the new OoTS 50 -
I'll give it a go tonight, i got repulsion field on my blaster.
-
Finaly you can consider Electric, since so far i know you AR/dev's dont have any hold powers. Elec got a nice decent hold power and a great resist-armor (s/l and nrg). The aoe drain power is kinda useless, EMP-pulse seems abit underpowered i was told.
