I have a Invun/Axe tank and i've seen some higher lvl */axe ppl and i've noticed one thing they all have in common, none have whirling axe, is their any reason for this or is it just personal prefrence?

maybe one of those AoE attacks that has low accuracy ( like ice sword circle or whirling hands ) and axe is a very end heavy power set.

Hmmm well I think */Axe tanks are fairly rare anyway - I know one that does have it but I always felt having it would be a waste of a power (personal preferance) - it didnt seem that powerful and was concerned that it would just ruin my nicely herded mobs. However with the changes to taunt it may be a useful way of keeping aggro thesedays.

Also is there any Invun powers i should skip, atm i'm planing on all of them and am very restricted on powers.

Just to clarify : AoE attacks have normal accuracy.

Some AoE controls have reduced accuracy.

These are just my opinions:

Resist Physical Damage - Its only a small boost to resistance which you can survive without quite easily.

Resist Elements and Resist Energies - Having them is beneficial but again I find you can survive without them quite easily.

Now I reckon a number of people would also recommend unstopppable but i think that is a great power (especially when I7 comes and you can see when its about to run out).

If you were to be PvP'ing then you may change your mind e.g. having resist energies be useful against energy blasters etc.

Hope this helps .

My stone/axe tanker has whirling axe and I find it to be a very good aggro tool. Not the most damaging attack I have but it does mean that anyone close enough gets a good whack. It is end hungry but when you are granite'd up you need all the attacks you can get. Although I haven't seen any other axe tankers in action.

My main is a Inv/Axe tank and I decided to not take the following powers from each set (i have all the others though):

Inv - Dull pain and Resist Elements
Axe - Build up and Whirling Axe

Why? Well, 1) Dull Pain: Early on in the game I was concentrating on getting unyielding, Invincibility and some attacks and just overlooked it, though I do accept it can be very useful if you're soloing or don't have a healer pre lvl 32. 2) Resist Elements, as previously said, you can survive without it though I tooke Resist Energy cos I think I tend to come across far more energy attacks. 3) Build Up. Well this takes so long to activate one of two things tend to happen a) my team mates wipe out the mob before i get an attack off or b) I can get 2 normal attcks off int he same time. and finally 4) Whirling Axe. well great animation, looks cool, totally wimpy damage (if it ever hits) and is maxed out at hitting 5 opponents. Struck me as a complete waste of time, though it can be fun if you're badge hunting against low level mobs.

One last thing though... always, always, always, always take taunt. I overlooked this power until a respec at lvl 40 and I'm amazed I got so far without it. It's probably the most useful power a tank can take

Have fun
