  1. Yeah, it gets pretty crazy when you run it solo at x8.

The villain mission with the 5x Miss Thystles can also get pretty intense.

Fire/Rad Corruptor or Controller (I think this is becoming a trend now)

    Taunt?

Indeed, only good Brutes are capable of tanking.
  5. I've colored Fire Blast and Control to match the colors of Radiation Emission, because I prefer to pair Fire/Rad rather than Rad/Rad. Besides, radiation causes burns, not "energy" damage.

I've also colored Energy Assault to "psychic pink" on my Mind/Energy Dom to emulate Psionic Energy (I like Power Boost)
  6. Castle will look at this thread thinking: "sets that need to get nerfed next"

    Taunt?

Taunt is useful for certain encounters where you'll be facing multiple hard targets simultaneously (such as ITF, LRSF, STF, etc). For general play/teaming/steamrolling it can be skipped as long as you're good at grabbing aggro with your taunt aura and AoE attacks
  8. Fire/Rad or Sonic/Therm
  9. I've found the AoE hold + Choking Cloud combo to be very useful. Having access to both Cinders and EM Pulse means you always have an AoE hold available. Consume from Fire Mastery also helps with the -recov from EM Pulse

    Thank god for Web Envelope

You don't need lots of def, but it's nice to have some. A fully slotted RI does roughly -20% tohit debuff to a +4 enemy (after resistances), so you'd only need 25% to be softcapped (or two small purples) against them.

-Rech means that if the alpha doesn't kill you (which rarely does) in the first few seconds, you're not gonna die.

heck, Fearsome stare first, then drop Tarpatch. Since tarpatch isnt technically an attack(according to fear rules) you can now do something else like pop reds or hit aim.....then attack.
Different methods to accomplish the same results, only that (IMO) rad can achieve better results.

I'm not saying Dark isn't a formidable set, I'm just saying that (from my personal experience) Rad is better IMO.

I solo +4/x8 spawns regularly on my Fire/Rad, doing +2's would be a step back.

I've also been known to solo pretty much every GM out there (including Lusca) with my rads, which dark can't do.

Rad has Choking Cloud (which can be used more often than HT, since it's a toggle) and the slow from Lingering Radiation is better than Tar Pit's (since it also does -rech)

  13. Sleet is better, because most stormies are bad.

Everything is funnier with the Benny Hill theme

So it is a little more complex.
    Yeah except...

  16. Neither DA nor Parry belong in an AV soloing attack chain, nor should they be paired with defensive sets. For softcapping defense use IO's

Those two are burst damage sets, I don't think their sustained DPS capabilites are that good

Ninja Blade might be a good choice, however.

Yes, I've also soloed AVs succesfully with a Dominator, Fire/Psi/Psi. GMs on the other hand, have proven rather difficult to do and I've yet to successfully solo one; they RUN AWAY too much, which makes it nearly impossible for me and my imps to sustain any significant DPS on them.

Yeah, except Rad is significantly better than Dark at debuffing regen, and just about on par at damage debuffing. Dark is better at to-hit debuffing, I'll give you that.

His secondary would most likely be /Nin, and his primary would be whatever it is that has the top DPS for Stalkers (I would say Dark Melee but Stalkers don't have Soul Drain, not sure how Claws and even the recently buffed MA would fare, and Kinetic Melee may also be an option)

Rad's heal doesn't need a to-hit check, and Rad's to-hit debuff toggle also comes with -def
  22. It is the way to go.

You know how people keep talking about how great Fire/Dark Corruptors are? Fire/Rad can do everything they do better

MM's are the easiest/safest AT to solo GMs with.
