  1. Hmmmm...this must be the 'ignore all damage and ignore all objectives' I must have heard so much about.

Hell, you can even ignore the game by turning it off. It's just I'd rather wanted to fight players in a PvP zone.
  2. [ QUOTE ]
Can't even jokingly fight enemy mobs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

True; it'd make more sense for the Arena to have enemies (a la danger room) and PvP zones have a few, because what, realistically, are they doing there?

You're not telling me that Bloody Bay, Siren's Call have something worth spending that amount of time in? Warburg at least has the Rogue Arachnos base but RV's effects don't affect the rest of the world anyway. (They should, but don't)
  3. [ QUOTE ]
There is a place where there are no NPCs and you can PvP at any level you like. Its called the Arena. I don't care how buggy it is, there are no computer controlled enemies. :P

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Arena's got it's own stupidities; mainly that you can't seriously fight Enemy Mobs; ironically.
  4. I'll say my point again; a +4 minion is overpowered; especially when limited to only the lucky.

The characters that gain the most from this GP are the ones that already have the advantage in RV; (Heavy Damage/Heavy Defence) so it's as bad (or as good) as just handing said person a couple of reds and purples.

What makes it worse is that the GP's are the only way for most people to complete the main objectives; so we're talking about taking the power out of the hands of the players; which is surely the point of the zone.

Now, if all GP's are out completing the objectives; what chance does the lone player or set of team players have?

We're not MEANT to be able to fight +4 mobs; but suddenly we have to. If GP's were level 50 or so, and the turrets were 51/52; then it wouldn't be as much of a problem; it's the scale of the differences rather than the differences themselves.
  5. I'm in complete agreement with Hammerfall here. Teh Gankpuppies are daft because you're just really fighting with them.

RV is an P+E vs P+E zone; not a PvP zone.

    Naming minions

    A is Alpha

Though three thugs called Whiskey, Tango and Foxtrot would be funnier, imho
  7. SO tempted to make this regular again; just needs enough piccies
  8. I can help on the Ninja side

Ninja Slotting is usually 2xAcc(3 is far too much), 2/3xDam,
1/2 Secondary Enhancers (Disorient for Genin, Slow for Jounin (Though I've tried Confuse Duration as well...), Hold or Immob for Oni.

Train Ninja is fine; but I'd really add an extra recharge and endrec to Kuji In Zen; especially if you have a staminaless build.

Running Hasten should only be used when attacking; not perma-ish like some people do.(It's a major loss of Endurance)

I'd also try putting Leadership: Tactics/Assault will help a LOT but again it's draining end all the time.

You also might want to swap an Intred for a Recharge in Heal Other; more than one doesn't really have a noticeable effect.

    Naming minions

Well, Mr Crowley, Unsure, Too many possibles

Damien being the Antichrist; Faust as the guy who sold his soul.

Astaroth being one of the Great Old ones.

Durant (no e) would be Darkman...
  10. "Mr Ping told me to take a hands on approach"
  11. It CAN be done; but it's like the Minionless Mastermind; it can be done SO much better with Stamina.

Especially in PvP matches with tactical starts.
  12. Ok, so I'm two days late. Sue me

www.bedtimereadingweek.com is running a competition in line with a certain value book store for budding novelists to write their own children's story in aid of www.bookaid.com.

Simple enough? Just upto 250 words for 2-7 year olds and it will be printed up and sold around the UK at certain leading book stores.

Terms and conditions do apply (see website) but the closing date is 1st June 2007 so get writing.

(Unfortunately I can't as I'm involved; but it's still a great chance of seeing your work in print)
  13. Indeed MZ, gratz. An inspiration to all those of us who like to cackle maniacally.
  14. Blasters have always had the sheer levelling power to 20, helped by Defiance.

Stalkers though can survive things Blasters can't; and Mr. Stalker doesn't get mezzed to heck as soon as the Ink Men appear.

Play a Stalker like a Blapper, not a Blaster and it's very fast.

Might be a good idea. I don't have any plans for Caltrops either... hm.. might throw Acrobatics out too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you want to see Caltrops in action, run into an Arson/Bank and throw them into the doorway.

Watch all the Longbow get hit by slow and damage AS they enter and then line up the AS.

Another wee trick is to AS, Placate, Crit hit a weakened PPD van. Can we say Car Bomb?
  16. See my MM hold the Circles in Sirens against 4 Scrappers and then tell me they can't

    As for sets;

Ninjas : Great Control, Weak Smarts, Good Damage
Zombies : Great Debuffs, Weak Smarts, Good Damage
Thugs : Great Damage, Weak Buffs, Good Smarts
Robots : V.Good Control, Weak Smarts, V.Good Damage
Mercs : Great Damage, Weak Smarts, Good Buffs

Traps : Great when stationary, Naff when moving.
    Dark : Good all round
FF : Great strengths, Bad Weaknesses
Poison : Deceptively good but needs lots of thought.
    Arrow : Firepower.

Most MM's weaklink is their Pet Smarts. TP Foe or AOE splash is enough to separate Pets from their Master and then it's just stomp the squishy. Supremacy and Bodyguard will make you Granite Killers, but control your pets.
  17. From my understanding and IANAL, the character you create here is legally licensed to Cryptic; so that any money made from that character is directly attributable to Cryptic.

    However

This only includes the likeness as it is rendered in CoH or V; as otherwise you would be breaking the EULA to have an evil/good version of the character; so writing about your character is still valid for profit making as long as you don't include the likeness of the character as seen in game.

Likeness, however, is legalese and can be taken in a number of ways.

    Inv/SS in PvP

Ms. Paragon (Inv/SS) has bashed brutes, slapped stalkers, maimed Masterminds, crushed corruptors and demolished Dominators.

Thing to do is get in quick and close and then start laying a world of hurt.
  19. There was this one great time in RV where I stealthed up to a Mastermind with BG on and PB/A/BU/NOVA.

    50 yards for the minions
  20. How do you find Nova in PvP Coin; I'm still of the opinion that it bombs out too much and is only really useful as "Well, I'm gonna die anyway"
  21. Silver_Weasel

    Farmless RV

    [ QUOTE ]
    I meant vs Retribution.

But a Union -vs- Defiant on Test would be hilarious!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, there is the Brighton Meet; if you Deviants want to be thrashed again
