Well folks as the name suggests I think I went over board with my stalker... I chose way too many powers and now don't have a travel power! Luckly I have a ace up my sleeve. The 9 month respec badge!

I need to know a few things Like:

1) Is caltrops as good as I hear?
2) Does a ninjitsu stalker need stamina? I mean we only have 3 toogles...
3)Is smoke bomb any good?
4)Do i need Ninja reflexes if I take Combat jumping and Parry? Or do I not need dnager sense?
5) how do you guys nick pick from so many cool sounding powers!

Don't try and play a stalker without stamina!!!!

You really do have to pick an choose powers as some are not as good as others and there are some power that are 100% needed and some that are totaly situational.

1) I'm going to say no on this one .. my personal feelings are its situational other people might disagree but i skipped it.

2) Stamina is a must on most AT's .. The toggles are quite end heavy.

3) I've tried smoke bomb and the only times i've used it is to escape a large mob and even then when the placate wears off the mob agros again even halfway across the map, i skipped this.

4) All your defence comes from Ninja Reflexes and Danger Sense so yes take both.
Ninja Reflexes is 21% Melee defence
Danger Sense is 21% Ranged/AoE Defence
Combat Jumping is 1.6% Defence
Hide is 5.9% melee/ranged 59% Aoe 3 slotted def

5) Its basicly down to reading and understanding how the powers work, reading some guides and actualy trying out the powers yourself is a good idea.
Having an idea of what you want to do and what area your fighting in also helps.
Also a hero planner is a big help.

Sounds like you went nin/nin?

My stalker is nin/nin and it's a really sucky combination to take if you have trouble making choices. Way too many good powers.

1) Is caltrops as good as I hear?

- not really

2) Does a ninjitsu stalker need stamina? I mean we only have 3 toogles...

- Yes it definitely needs.

3)Is smoke bomb any good?

- I dont know

4)Do i need Ninja reflexes if I take Combat jumping and Parry? Or do I not need dnager sense?

Both constitute the bulk of your defense with or without parry, CJ does not even count. If you want to make a stalker without defense its up to you.

5) how do you guys nick pick from so many cool sounding powers!

- We try them out on test server and use common sense

Regarding Smoke Bomb... it'll be great if they've fixed it since it's a multiple target Placate. At release, it was broken and didn't work. I don't know if they've fixed it yet, check the release notes.

Ah that makes sense. I got it on Cao Qin and although it was useful for emergency getaways I never seemed to get a Placate going with it. In the end I respecced it out for Blinding Powder, which I've come to love in its own right; a Stalker can never have too much control.

On the point of Caltrops, I'd say defintely get it. It's another control power that can be invaluable in just about any fight you'll get into. If you're overwhelmed by melee enemies, drop Caltrops at your feet and they'll start trying to get away (slowly) rather than attacking you. Even if you continue attacking them they won't fight back.

Same goes for ranged attackers; if you or a squishy team mate are getting shot, run up to the shooters, Caltrop them and explain to them that Stalkers can scrap to a not insignificant degree, especially against enemies who can't fight back.

You can use Caltrops to interfere with a pulled spawn, you can use them to aid a getaway, you can even use them for extracting stones from horses hooves.

I'm a big fan of Caltrops; use them inventively and they'll be one of the most useful powers you'll have. My advice is if you can get them, do.

I say this because of my own experiences with my lvl 34 claws/nin stalker, which became enjoyable to play only after I respecced in stamina. It is a pvp build though.

Its mostly the combo of Reflexes and Danger Sense both of which use quite alot of end altho Danger Sense is the bigger of the 2.
Add in the usage of hit powers and it does drain end quite fast especialy the big hitting later powers like GD and SD from ninja blade.

I believe it has been and some time ago as i tried smokebomb some time back and it did indeed placate but i did have a problem with the mob re-agroing after the placate wore off and chasing me even across the whole map.
Whether this has changed now i'm not to sure but the placate did work.

I'm using Nin/Nin and don't have stamina. I couldn't resist all the tricksie powers on Ninjitsu so couldn't afford to buy it as I wanted flight.

I slapped 1 end reducer into Danger sense and Reflexes very early on and then when I got into late 20's I put one in each of my main attacks (golden dragonfly, Soaring Dragon, Assassin).

To be honest, I've barely noticed not having stamina. Judicious use of toggling my melee and aoe defences on and off while Im running about etc and Im usually plenty ok for end.

I solo on relentless easily, though I do tend to pick my opponents as I find the circle and freakshow too resistant to lethal. Carnival and the Council are my [censored].

I use smokebomb all the time to AS and run away if I need to thin groups out. Even if it misses some it usually strings larger groups out and I use normal placate to kill boss guards then placate the boss to retreat then ghost back in again once I've recovered from whatever alpha's they use (Mask of vitiation(sp) is a [censored]).

I find I'm not using caltrops as much as I used to as originally I played an air superiority/caltrops damage game but now Im higher level the damage even slotted is more negligible. But I still use air super to drop hovering foes and in conjunction with soaring dragon to keep enemies juggled.

Blnding powder is brill but on relentless I tend to get small groups of high level mobs rather than big groups but I know it comes into its own when i do use it.

All in all I love nin/nin and its flexibility and have had no need for stam on this toon at all.
