Meh, YMMV. I tend to use them as I find the overuse of emotives far more annoying; and perhaps I've become addicted to them after 5+ years of text based gaming.

I won't use them for certain characters, but Weasel, as he is, will use them incessantly; because that's the way he is. Mr. Normal wouldn't use them at all.

I'm sort of on the other side from this because in it's original form, text speak could be used as a emotive use of text as certain things cannot be easily expressed in simple text.

One particular blaster stood within the Longbow, daring me to get him.

I used my stealth suit, snuck up behind him, held him to the floor and beat seven bells out of him before Longbow could react.

Zerging takes no more skill than the ape pusing the button; crushing a good opponent without resorting to cheap shots takes a lot of skill.

As a start to Villain Roleplay, I thought it was quite good; though there was definitely some stifled pauses at times.

Perhaps the difference between the Heroes and the Villains is that Heroe's want to be accepted and will happily talk about walking their dog whilst Villains would happily kill their dog before spilling the beans.

For CoV RPG to take off, I think we definitely need an overall goal to aim towards. Perhaps EVIL could be passing off 'missions' to the others; and as we get back together we relay information we have gained in payment for cash, clothes, wines etc.

That would seem to make a more solid link for Villain RP.

Hmmm...true, could be read either way.

So my Jounin can take loads of damage from my Genins getting whopped? Surely a better idea would be that damage YOU take is shared amongst your henchmen?

Aye, it does need to be 'in character'. A Hero I know once entered Siren's Call and /b "all villans are [known for same sex relations]".

Well, I'm level 31 atm, so the next powers the doozy. I've already got tough and kick. I was pondering ReE after getting Radded to death by Anti-Matter on SK,and Stomp is a necessity,but Unstoppable seems a death knoll on my character.

You get REALLY sick on there at times though Jaq

Lot of complaints have gone up about the use of Broadcast, especially Stalkers to undermine opponents.

Personally, I have no qualms about completely hamming into RP territory here, because some of my characters ARE loudmouths; also as Spidey has often shown, annoyed characters make big mistakes.

Just want to hear people's views? Trash Talking part of PvP or not?

Inv/SS Tanker. Are Resist Elements/Energy really worth taking after ED? If so, at what level-ish?

I found Handclap to be invaluable on big teams but YMMV.

Just in perspective, it was, but there's a understandable frustration when your 'fighting' is actually the same as you wandering around doing nothing

Ice Armour helps anywhere. Arena battles can take Epics as well.

There's also certain powers that make you harder to take down.

Flight is one, as AS can't hit you in midair, though Impale can. Beware of Ice Corruptors.

Stealth/Invis/Phaseshift can help. Beat them at their own game.

Repulsion Field can help if you're out on your own.

Any armour helps.(Temp Invuln/Body Armour/Ice Armour/Stealth)

Just remember that you WILL be the target for most Stalkers and don't keep still enough and stay within range of the heavy hitters with shields.

Pets always help as well. Any good blaster should be able to solo to get the Shivan Shards.

Getting IR Goggles helps if you're in control of the zone.

Running debuff missions whilst you're guys are out killing may help.

And always remember to stack your box full of Breakfrees, Blasters rarely need anything else. Though Luck and Sturdy may help against them as well.

In your stead, Slaughter the MMs/Corruptors/Dominators so they can't help the Stalker as well.

This will mean a lot of toggles though, so make sure you're Stamina/End'recd to the full; and if the AS gets through? Slam them hard with Defiance.
