I get that it can be very frustrating to see the same question over and over again. Especially if the answer is right there in front of their eyes.

I don't think there's a problem asking or telling people to read the MotD. As _Cherry_ said, the mods put in a lot of effort to ensure it stays up to date and contains all the relevant information.

For me personally, I just don't think the attitude is needed. I'm a big boy, I'm not offended by being told to read the F anything. The fact that we are all, for the most part, adults here and shouldn't get too butthurt about this kind of thing is moot.

Even if its partly in jest, even if its totally warranted because ******* the information is right there, the hostility and attitude aren't necessary for the channel to function.

I do have to say I've got all the main GC's on my main servers and the level of mod'ing on your channel is in a class by itself.

But for the most part the channel seems pretty friendly for the past year I've had it, though on some nights the mod'ing is way over the top, given you all tell newbs they should hook up with BMT when they come to this server.

Just saying that from an outsiders perspective that can be pretty off putting for someone testing out your server, and I hail mostly from freedom/virtue, so that's saying something.

Friendliness and common sense are more likely to keep visitors from leaving your server, which has lost population the past couple years, just a thought.

    .
I was being facetious. I don't actually think BMT is fascist and if anyone does, they need to read a history book and/or a dictionary.

As for all the other stuff that's gotten all 'splodey in the past page...For me personally, I could care less about the off-topic chatter as long as its not getting in the way of actual BMT stuff.

If nothing is really going on or being formed because it's stupid o' clock in the morning and people want to just chatter, I don't see that as a problem. However, if a new person comes into the channel and sees a huge nerdragey argument or one person talking to themselves for hours on end, it doesn't reflect well on the channel.

That said, I don't think I was around for people talking music non-stop or whatever, but even now I can see how certain people who love to hear (or read? ) themselves talk would dominate the channel. Derailing it from its original purpose.

So, in my opinion, what there needs to be is balance. Right now the balance might not be perfect, but it's pretty good. My experience of BMT is that you can pretty much talk about whatever you want to talk about, as long as you know when to shut up.

If someone feels something should change or could be improved about the way the channel is moderated, a thread or forum post isn't the way to do it. No one is gonna respond well to being publicly called out like that. If you want something to change, you go and you talk reasonably to the person you feel it concerns.

Channel Ops should be open to objective, reasonable and constructive feedback. But if they don't get any, nothing is going to change.

in fact, last couple sf's i did with group of my coalies with my /traps actually impressed some of them enough that they wanted to make their own /traps toons
One thing, the -regen in PGT is actually stronger than the -regen in Lingering Radiation. LR is -500%, PGT is -1000%.
  4. As someone who played a Fire/Traps heavily IOd before the PGT fix and has one again now, again heavily IOd:

If Caltrops is the best mitigation tool in Traps for you, you're doing it wrong. FFG adds a hefty amount of defense. PGT still neuters a spawn long enough for you to kill them. If you can't kill a spawn before they can kill you if they're debuffed by PGT, Mortars and you've got FFG defense running, that's not the failing of the set

Don't get me wrong, I think Traps is woefully underpowered. I'd love for it to get buffed. I'd love for the animation times to get sped up for a lot of the powers. Almost everything it does, another set does, usually better.

But that doesn't mean a /Traps isn't worth inviting to a team. It also doesn't mean that you should post totally inaccurate information about the set because you're still cranky that its totally broken power got fixed.

It took me time and a lot of Kleenex, but I got over it. You can too.
  5. It's not a backburner power just because it no longer nukes spawns or perma-holds them. It's still a cornerstone /Traps power. Take it, slot it, love it.

  8. You one-shotted a lvl 52 boss? As in, you did more than 2, 650 damage (not taking resistances into account) in a single hit?

    Sure.
  9. Seconding eryq2s eled/sd recommendation. It's a little rough in the lower levels and only starts to shine later on, so it's perfect for DXP rushing.

Looking at your roster your highest level characters are all fairly self-sufficient. So, being a shameless Corr-*****, I'd like to recommend a few very self-sufficient Corrs :3

Fire/Dark. Very powerful from early on, stays strong throughout. You'll be good solo/teaming from the outset and get all the yummy powers fast with DXP rushing.

Sonic or Fire/Rad. Similar to the Dark, but with AM for great endurance (in)justice. Sonic for great ST damage and -res stacking, Fire for all round sexiness. Srsly. Nothing does a Corr justice like Fire Blast.

Fire/Traps. Very self sufficient character, great soloer. Takes a little longer to mature so also a good choice for DXP rushing.

Putting my incessant MOAR CORRZ agenda aside for a moment, if you love Shield Charge you might like Footstomp. Same huge boomy knockdowny goodness, but on a faster recharge. SS/WP or SS/SD would be my recommendation.

  10. Just to check, a single attack with multiple damage portions still counts as 1 attack, correct?

As in, say you get hit at full health by Fictional Attack for 2000 energy 1000 smashing and you've got 1.2k health. You'll still only get dropped to 1hp, right?

My vague recollections say yes, but I want to make sure
  11. Hm. Well, no access to Mids atm but I can comment on Ishaila's build.

Drop the Deflated Ego proc from RI, its kindof a waste. You've got no other recovery debuffs from AR or Rad to stack it with and it'll only check once every 10s. I'd leave the Achilles proc in there if you've got a slot, but drop the Lady Grey proc. You'd be better off putting a Lady Grey proc in Burst.

I went with 4 Dark Watchers Despair for the recharge bonus. Your current setup doesn't give much end redux, which is important for RI.

Swap the Extreme Measures in Sniper Rifle for Sting of the Manticores, much better set bonuses.

Add an extra recharge or endurance rdx in Flamethrower. Posi Blast is a great set but gives crap recharge and end rdx. Flamethrower is both an awesome attack so you want it back up faster but eats a lot of endurance. If you've got the recovery to swing it (which you probably will with AM) I'd recommend you go with the recharge.

Drop the Pacing of the Turtles in Lingering Rad, it gives really crappy enhancement values. You want to max the acc and recharge on LR. I recommend 2 acc, 2 rech, 1-2 slows if you really want/have spare slots. You can nick a slot from cj, with RI and -def from Burst you really won't get much benefit from the Kismet +6%.

Swap the dam/range in Ignite to Dam/Rech. Since it's recharge got whacked a while back it needs recharge reduction more.

If you want Choking Cloud, you're going to want much more end redx and accuracy in it. That said, I'd recommend you skip CC. With the cones of AR, you're going to be at range almost all the time. AR doesn't lend itself well to melee-blasting. Not worth the endurance, imo.

Don't need the slow resistance in SJ, stealth proc or jump IO would be better.

Ragnaroks in Full Auto. I love it. Unloading into someone so hard they get knocked down :3

Um, pick up Slug. You've only got Burst and Sniper Rifle for ST damage. This makes me a sad panda. Being able to hose down entire spawns with FT and FA isn't as awesome when you've gotta spend ages using only Burst to kill a boss. AR has fairly weak ST damage due to its lack of a t3 attack and Ignite being tricky to leverage. Don't exacerbate it by not showin' Slug no luv.

Fallout is an awesome power. It's an awesome damage power. plz 2 slotting some dmg in it. Yes, it does have stupid awesome debuff values. It also has stupid awesome damage. Make the most of the damage first, the debuffs second. If the dudes hovering menacingly over your dead buddy get blown to itty bitty irradiated bits, they don't need to be debuffed.

Eh, Focused Accuracy. It's a decent power but you really don't need it. If you really need to hit something drop RI on them. It uses up a lot of endurance for something another power does better.

Hope that helps, I'll see about throwing together a build when I get home.

The obvious solution is for you to get your transatlantic flight on and start fiddling with wires, settings and buttons.
  15. +1 to what Harkness and Laevateinn have said. This build is all over the place. Choose either typed or positional defense and stick with it. I recommend typed because of Ice Shield. If you've got high s/l you've got protection from all melee/ranged/AoE attacks with s/l components anyway.

Swap the Geddons from Inferno to Combustion or better yet, FSC. Purple procs are better in powers with faster recharges. Inferno hits hard enough as is, you'll get much more use out of the set in Combustion/FSC.

    Poison: A Primer

Yes, its a persistent debuff aura for its duration on the pet. Think of it as a click pet-based RI/EF in one.
  18. Also that WP gets QR at 20, Regen gets it at 4.
  19. Give it as many slots as you can, 6 ideally. It really is a fantastic damage power, even if you don't have anything to keep a spawn in it other than RoFs own minor slow.

For the slotting, Tangler is spot on. 5 Posi Blasts for the bonuses, skip the dam/range. It won't give very good end rdx but you're /kin so that won't be a problem, chuck a recharge in the 6th slot.

    Fulcrum, RoF, cackle wildly.

Not doing it wrong, but in a farm thread saying tanker damage is lol is faster than explaining the whole song and dance.

That being, as others have said, that Scrappers and Brutes will do much more damage. In the context of farming, you need 2 things. Toughness and damage. You only need enough toughness, but you want as much damage as you can possibly get.

Tankers have more toughness than they need, and pay for it in damage. That's a bad bargain as far as farming is concerned.
