If he had a more AoE heavy build, like FM or SS. You could take down the bosses/lts while he butchered the minions.
Although it will take till 26 or 32 respectively till he would get his AoE, but two brutes of any kind will still work fine together. -
But if you're in zones fighting a few people or doing team pvp in arenas, do you generally have a better drop rate now?

Well, yes and no.
I thought these pvp IOs were added so that there was a reward other than rep for playing pvp, in order to entice more people into trying it.
So I would have thought the best way to go about that would be to have the pvp stuff drop fairly often. It doesn't seem very tempting to go try something you've never really been interested in because of a miniscule chance you might get something.
As for farming, yes if drop rates were increased and made separate from rep the pvp IOs would be easier to farm. But that's how it is in pve too, farmers have more influence/infamy and get more drops because they make a concerted effort towards that goal. The crucial difference imo, is that at least people who don't farm still get the money and drops, albeit not in the same volume of people who farm.
I guess what it comes down to for me is that by making the drops harder to get, it increases the disparity between what farmers can get and normal players can get, instead of decreasing it. -

They did, they changed the drop rates to rep based kills only, meaning that you can no longer get drops in arena and only in pvp zones and because pvp sucks so horribly in this game I do not foresee prices going down anytime soon.

While I find these threads hilarious, I do think it would be pretty cool if the devs could do something productive about pvp drops.

Yeah, Regen generally requires more skill/attention to get the most out of it due to its clicky nature. As for comparing it to WP/Invuln, I guess it depends what you want from your secondary.
If you want really early endless endurance regen and like having an active secondary then regen is a great choice. If you just want to toggle up and go kill stuff you might prefer Invuln/WP.
My personal opinion is that WP is about as fun for me to play as watching paint dry. Invuln looks like it might be fun but I haven't played it for a long, long time.
I don't know if its relevant to your choice, but in my opinion MoG is lightyears better than Unstoppable or SoW as a tier 9. While SoWs crash is no where near as harsh as Unstoppables,
I just really like the idea of a crashless burst of godhood so I can catch my breath and maybe ensure the stuff breathing around me isn't for much longer -

Her toons were built to her specifications for enjoyment of her $14.99 a month. Who are you to dictate what makes something fun for someone else or not? Sorry to get a bit flamey here, but I absolutely HATE when someone judges someone else's character as "good build" or "bad build". There is a reason that the game allows you to select your powers on level ups. Because not everyone plays the powerset the same way. IF you can't play with a person because of their build or play style, then you have the right to find another team. It doesn't have to resort to slapping labels on people or their characters.
Likewise, if the Devs make a change that makes the game not fun for her anymore, she also has the right to take her $14.99 elsewhere. And although we will miss her and would like her to stay, we can express these wants without labeling her, as a person, or her toons, as well built or poorly built.

Man, anyone who thought PSW wasn't gonna get a range/end/recharge/damage nerf is straight up delusional. Look what happened when it got ported to blasters.
For the people who can't handle suspense, it got a damage nerf, its recharge was increased, its end cost was increased and the range was decreased.
I'm not saying I'm a fan of this change but 1: with the damage changes I don't think its -that- big a deal, PSW is still a great power for blasters and 2: man seriously it was right there how could people not see this coming? -
Step 1: Hire a Singularity
Step 2: Place Singularity in the middle of the Cap BM/next to Kalinda in Mercy Isle.
Step 3: Find riot shield.
Step 4: Standing behind riot shield, throw rolls of coins into the Singularity.
Step 5: Enjoy the show, cackling maniacally optional but encouraged. -
Fire/Psi. PSW is still a burly power for Blasters and will be the same for Doms. PBAoE damage toggle + largely DoT AoE does not an AoE king make.

DM/SD for high single target DPS and utility, FM for a decent mix of high single target damage and AoE but relatively little synergy with SD.
I've never thought much of the SS/SD combo but its apparently popular so...I guess the upsides of that build would be of course all the AoE knockdowns in Shield Charge and Footstomp, but it would be real hell on the end bar. -
5 Posi Blasts and a Force Feedback +rech proc.

It could work, just not as smoothly as SS/WP or fast as SS/FA. Whats also important is most people farm Nemesis villside and any spawn big enough to be farmworthy is gonna shred SR because of all the Vengeance.

Oh I dunno about what powers the pets have, I've never thought about getting a pet for any reason other than recharge from an IO set. But, theoretically speaking, if your pet is in range to hit enough stuff with EMP for it to be worth it, its gonna get torn to shreds before it can.

Eh, for 99% of the time Dark and Elec will be pretty much the same as all you'll be using is the AoE blast. For the rare times you want to use Burn Elec is better because its immob isn't a cone like Darks.

What do you mean properly built for AV soloing? Like building for softcapped ranged defense?

My preferred solution would be to just add APPs for villains and some patrons for heroes, but I really don't see that happening.
