fm/ vs dm/ vs ss/sd?
nobody?
DM/SD for high single target DPS and utility, FM for a decent mix of high single target damage and AoE but relatively little synergy with SD.
I've never thought much of the SS/SD combo but its apparently popular so...I guess the upsides of that build would be of course all the AoE knockdowns in Shield Charge and Footstomp, but it would be real hell on the end bar.

it's generally easier to build a brute with dm due to dark consumption, but you have no real aoe dmg unless you pick up a patron aoe later on
I have to agree. My DM/Shield has so so end but luckily I get DC. As for the damage, wow is it awesome. Shield Charge into each mob, Soul Drain them and then pick apart anything left standing with ease.
I just started an ss/sd brute. I seem to be doing okay. SS has always been decent as building fury.
Not a huge fan of dm, but it definitely has more utility than SS.
Plus I just like the way shield looks and the animations work with SS.
Out of curiosity, which does better throughout the course of the game?
Of course, one could argue SS is the best...but it has NO AoE till 32, and usually only x2 rage consitantly at 50.
Dark I can see having tremendous potential...yet needs to be saturated at all times....
Fire is fire...it has great damage built in...but little utility <.<
Opinions?
