Does anyone remember when the Devs said that there would never be more than one issue without Proliferation at a time? That kinda gave the impression of having it every OTHER issue, didn't it?
Now please, Devs, don't get me wrong! I call Issue 13 'Issue 12.5' because, to me, there just wasn't too much content. The big thing was Shields, if you ask me. So, let's just clump I13 and I14 together, and say 1 issue has passed. No harm, no foul. After all, I14 was a MASSIVE project, was it not?! I mean, it was incredible!
But looking at Issue 15, there's no mention of Proliferation...
Think about it! This is RIPE for roleplaying reasons why Proliferation would exist! Fifth Column using a biological weapon to give Heroes/Villains different powers, The Reichsman using some sort of Tachyon Aura to induce these effects... The possibilities go on.
Please don't give up on what you're looking to bring forward, but if you're going to have to let all of these issues pass, then just say 'Maybe we were wrong, Proliferation is a rare occurrence, and we try to get around to it." -

That's a pretty odd way to look at your Mastermind, Sigium. The Genin are melee henchmen, so expecting them to stay out of melee and fire is pretty much opposite to the intended purpose of the changes, and I'm not sure about the Oni as my Ninja Mastermind doesn't have access to him yet, but I'd say I very much prefer him to use his attacks rather than holds and Rain of Fire.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, they're so damn squishy that it just makes it a suicide mission to send them in. Even Punks have Resistance with an Enforcer or Two on the scene, you know?
And then Smoke Flash? Pffft... Genin waste it with sub-par damage, Jounin are already IN Stealth, and the Oni is best used for Control, so it's wasted for them. -
I'd leveled a Ninja/TA MM up to 33, maybe even 34.
I HATED the pets.
Genin: Oh, hey! You have TWO Shuriken now?! Man, what could be better?! Oh, right... Staying out of range, and NOT getting yourselves killed in one hit.
Jounin: You guys get HIDE, so you can Critical Hit?! Fantast-- Wait, no! Don't use Poison Dart! Stop it! Stop using SotW for your Criticals! SAQEEWTQAADFEWA
Oni: Alright, now go do what you do! No... No, not fireball... No, not Breath of Fire... Do the holds! Use RAIN of fire! DAMMIT, LISTEN TO YOUR MASTER! Ya' know what? Screw you, just go into melee and Fire Katana it... NO, NOT FIRE BLAST! -
Have a happy one, Frostyman! o.o

I'd rather see a CSI: Paragon City.
Longbow Eagle: Ah, man. Captain Mako really did a number on this guy.
Back Alley Brawler: I'd say...he's bitten off more than he can chew.
YEEEEEEEEAH!

Or? No.
If I wanted to play City of Bureaucrats, I'd have bought that game.

You can get a copy of CoB cheap at Big Lots for $3.99.

The idea is to buy City of Bearaucrats, and then City of Accountants, destroy one of them, and then delete your toons. -

Because CO looks like crap?
Comicy crap, but crap.

I actually disagree with that. Yes, the cell-shading was a major step down graphics-wise, but their sliders, body-tones, and customization, along with everything? I'd say that they made up for it pretty well. -
Stamina is basically a prerequisite on all of my builds, including those with Quick Recovery. Anyone who doesn't take it, and expects the team to compensate should have their harddrive melted, and their subscription account be Generic'd, along with all of their characters.
-
Because upping graphics doesn't -just- come with the graphics. You need to tell the player base that some of their graphics cards, or computers may no longer support it. You need to see if the game's engine can handle something new. You need to determine if the animations will work properly with updated graphics.
Etc. -
Well, to add some real input to this, I DO think that Paragon Studios should work on the graphics a bit. It looks like Cell-Shading was a worthy sacrifice to get what they've got in terms of the graphics otherwise.
That said, you can't really blame CoX for not having this just yet. It was still the original Superhero MMO. It laid the groundwork for the genre/subgenre, and that's an important aspect.
Would more bodytypes be a good thing? Hell yeah, and I hope to see them in Going Rogue, but I think everyone expects it to be some sort of Miracle Expansion. -
I just can't get behind the OP's logic.
"I'm quitting because the game's monthly fee is expense."
"It's $15. Why should they lower it?"
"Because! It's been out FIVE YEARS!"
"...?"
It's a non sequitor. -
This thread makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :3

Is there any way in game to measure the actual "hit points" of a Giant Monster? (I know everyone's damage scales, but there has to be some number that the critter starts with, that once exceeded, it's defeated.)
Or any other objective measure of a critter's "difficulty"?
If so, how do the individual parts of Lusca compare to other GMs?
[/ QUOTE ]
If you hold your cursor on the red health bar in the target menu, if you give it about 5 seconds, it'll tell you exactly how much HP they have.
[/ QUOTE ]Wow. Playing for a year and a half, and I didn't know that! Thanks!

You'll also find that people have a metric F-Ton of endurance. Giant Monsters? Like... 8,000end. -
The panty shot caused the thread to die? ;-;

I don't think we'll see new melee sets for awhile. Melee AT's don't need new sets, they need proliferation. There are plenty of Melee sets they just need to be rebalanced to suit the other melee AT's. If they can do that the list of what each melee at had available would be rather long.
[/ QUOTE ]
This.
Let's first get some stuff over to Scrappers before we go into new stuff. There's... Possibly too MANY melee sets as it is...
Spines, Ice Melee, Fire Melee, Stone Melee, Electric Melee, Energy Melee, Dark Melee, Katana/Ninja Blade, Broadsword, Dual Blades, Claws, War Mace, Battle Axe, Super Strength, Martial Arts, and... Am I missing any?
The point is that melee can do without a few new sets for awhile. Proliferation would be something much nicer at this point. -

Thinking up a data-structure is the easy part, Sigium...
[/ QUOTE ]
Still, it's part of the work done, regardless. :P
I just think making an idea seem a bit more plausible on paper might make it easier for either the developers, or just the community to get in on if they've got a basic structure. -

I love the idea, but the devs that write content for the game don't have access to this function so I wouldn't hold my breath.
[/ QUOTE ]
And you know this... How?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because it doesn't do it now.more properly, I suppose, they *have not had* access to the function. Whether they've come up with it and do internally now is anyone's guess.
That said... yeah, I'd love to see it. It'd play havoc with some of the near-limit arcs that get made, but it'd still be interesting.
[/ QUOTE ]
Correct me if Im wrong but wouldn't "switchs" be similar to however the devs did the Origins of Powers arcs. they'd just have to creat a flag that is less permanent then badges and character origin, maybe a mission clue would work.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, if this idea were to be implemented, and had never been implemented before in the game, I'd like to try something like this;
All characters are given 20 switches. Something they will NEVER see, and something that will NEVER make a different outside of Architect. It doesn't show up in options, power attributes, etc.
When your character is made, all switches are set to OFF.
Upon Architect, then it begins to mess with those switches, modifying your characters as you go along with the arc.
Upon quitting the story arc, or completing it, all switches will immediately be returned to their OFF position.
And implementing this? Well, think of the 'This Event Happens When...' little box in the settings, or something like that. Give the option to choose 'Happen Upon Switch', which will open up two menus; one selecting switches 1 - 20, and another to select ON or OFF. -
