  1. Eden fixed? Excellent! I knew it was coming Soon™!
  2. Steampunk pack?

    DO WANT
  3. ...yeah. There's actually an fully effective method of locking the league to the minimum size. It's that little button labeled "Kick". Now, wouldn't it be nice if we could avoid having to use that in the first place?

    WTF: Eden trial

On the upside, they'll know about the bug for sure soon enough. Downside, they'll probably just switch the WTF back to the ITF for that week rather than fix it.

    DING! Seven!

Thanks for an awesome ride so far, can't wait to see what's to come!
  6. I come granting wishes! It is within your power to silence and even change certain in-game sounds! Simply follow the instructions in this link and you can modify your sounds however you like. For simplicity's sake, here are the files you'll want to add to your sound folder:

    data/sound/ogg/Player/*

    FemTaunt1.ogg
    FemTaunt2.ogg
    FemTaunt3.ogg
    FemTaunt4.ogg
    FemTaunt5.ogg
    FemTaunt5b.ogg
    FemTaunt6.ogg
    FemTaunt7.ogg
    FemTaunt8.ogg
    FemTaunt9.ogg
    FemTaunt10.ogg

    MaleTaunt1.ogg
    MaleTaunt2.ogg
    MaleTaunt3.ogg
    MaleTaunt4.ogg
    MaleTaunt5.ogg
    MaleTaunt6.ogg
    MaleTaunt6b.ogg
    MaleTaunt7.ogg
    MaleTaunt8.ogg
    MaleTaunt9.ogg
    MaleTaunt10.ogg
    MaleTaunt11.ogg
    MaleTaunt12.ogg
    MaleTaunt13.ogg
    MaleTaunt14.ogg

    And for good measure,

    data/sound/ogg/powers/*

    Taunt1.ogg
    Taunt2.ogg
    Taunt3.ogg
    Taunt4.ogg
    Taunt4b.ogg
    Taunt5.ogg

Note that you are not modifying game files in any way; this change only affects your client, and is allowed under the EULA. You can use a program like Audacity to create silent files, or to add in your own sounds.

I don't know which sounds are which on that list, but I'm sure you can work them out with a little trial-and-error. Have fun!
  7. No. Fly is speed capped with just the base slot.
  8. That's an excellent suggestion about Doctored Wounds. I'd gotten it into my head that the recharge bonus was the 6th slot set bonus. The kismet can also go, I don't believe it's doing much for me. I definitely want to hold onto the Obliteration sets though, between the three of them, I get over 11% melee defense.

As far as endurance goes, I'm pretty much self-sustaining right now outside of major sappers. Consume is up whenever I need it. My attack chain is Scorch->Incinerate->Scorch->GFS->repeat, with Burn and FCS thrown in as needed.
  9. This can work for some, but if you already had it scaled down, scaling it any more will cause it to become unreadable.

I can make the chat window wider, but the minimum width has increased. Dunno if this is WAI.
  10. This game is so freakin' difficult sometimes. How am I supposed to roll around in all my ill-gotten wealth and filthy lucre if I can only have 2 billion on me at one time?
  11. Absolutely worthless. Pay me 1 million inf, and I'll dispose of it for you.

In all seriousness, probably ~500-700mil crafted. Just my gut feeling, could easily be less.
  12. Hello all. I've been trying to squeeze a little more performance out of my fire tanker Shortspark, and I'm looking for some advice on how to improve her build. This is the general list of goals I'm working towards:

    1. Recharge is primary. Healing Flames, Build Up, Fiery Embrace, everything's better with more recharge.
    2. Defense is very nice. Not getting hit as much means more time spent fighting and less time spent bandaging wounds.
    3. Endurance and recovery are good too. I hate having to slow down for endurance management.
    4. Anything else is gravy.
With that in mind, I'm torn on what to choose for an APP/Patron. I've currently got the Energy Mastery pool for Physical Perfection, but I've heard good things about Soul Mastery for increasing survival. At this point, I'm not sure what the best choice would be. I call upon the combined knowledge of the Tanker forum, and beseech you for advice. I welcome any advice, criticism, or anecdotal observations. Thanks!

  13. If there were some way to combine "Recall Friend" and "TP Foe" into a "TP other" power, I'd love to see the tier 1 power be changed to a kind of combat teleport. 40' range, quick activation, and it teleports you to your targeted foe/ally.
  14. I've deleted a few low level characters that I decided I didn't really want to play after all. I've also deleted something like 5 BS/* scrappers, all under level 20. The highest one I've ever deleted was a level 47 WP/EM tanker, because I realized I just didn't like the powerset anymore and wanted to use the same character, but with different powers.
  15. I'll echo what many others have said: Hasten's a nice power for some characters, but not necessary for any.
  16. I'm gonna go the opposite way with this idea. People love their earth-shattering KABOOMS? Great! Give them more!

    -Raise or eliminate target cap
    -Increase AoE range
    -Increase damage
    -Leave penalties in place

Make the power match the penalties already in place. It will justify the crashes, as well making them feel more awesome.

Do I think this is needed or likely? Heck no, but it's fun to dream.

I'll bet the Devs could sell several Booster Packs worth of stuff just based on things that are already made ready to go that they could just push out the door tomorrow.
The only problem is that it would require someone to actually dig through 7 years of not-entirely-documented code that has been modified continuously and find that stuff. Mind you, I'd love a chance to explore the source code. Who knows what you'd find?
  18. I'm also having this problem, I actually managed to cook a quick dinner in the time it took to get past the "Loading" bar.
  19. My ill/rad troller, Improbability, is an avatar of Luck. As such, everything was recolored to a bright, rich green. It actually turned out really pretty looking, and very distinctive.
  20. Hello all!

I have a bit of a confession to make. I've been playing this game for quite a few years now, and I have never played a controller past level 10. I'm hoping to change that now, though. I just recently rolled up a Elec/Empath as a primarily support character, based simply on the fact that I liked both sets.

When I went to Mids' later, I realized that I had a problem. I want just about every power in both sets, leaving me very tight for slots and for pool powers.

So I turn to you. What should I be aware of a newbie controller? What powers are less valuable or skippable for an Elec/Empath? Have I chosen a terrible combination? Advice, anecdotes, criticisms, all are welcome. Thanks!

I'm not talking 'SELL IT NAO' habits. There was no demand for the object when I posted it; there was none for sale, either. The object in question was a crafted, level 50 IO; it would have been worth more than 15 inf if I had chosen to respec the character holding it and let it be redeemed that way.

However, it seems that I have jacked up the prices for this time - the last 5 items in the history sold for 250, 1200 and 555. Now, it's 1,000,005.

This isn't the only case, just the most greivous. I emptied my VG's bins recently, which involved taking a pile of unused IOs that had sat fallow for months, and putting them on the market for the lowest price I could bear. We're not generally talking real dog sets here, at least as far as I can see. End mod sets, knockback sets, sleep procs, debuff sets. Stuff like that. You know? Nothing platinum, nothing I was going to charge much for. For the most part, the prices range from 250k to 1-2m (in some rare instances where the salvage to make them would have cost that much). And what I'm finding is...

Even if you're trying to sell stuff cheap, the Great Chain Of The Market turns you into an ebil monster marketeer flipper dupe hacker. I have at this point, hundreds of millions of inf when all I asked for was maybe a million or two, and not all of it's sold. The only possible explanation I could work out is that people are paying what they want to pay, and therefore have their own reasons for spending what they did, or I am somehow an ebil genius who is mind-controlling the populace into over-bidding on property I posted for cheap from a dozen alts just to drive up the price or something. So I demand to know:

Which of you monsters made me into an ebil person? What horrorshow is this, where I have a lot of money in my pocket that has been put there clearly by the works of the machinations of bad people being immoral and jacking up the prices? What am I to do? And can I use these powers to get better shows on TV?
I read your post in the voice of Andrew Ryan from Bioshock, and it was awesome.

    Over 9000

In fact, over a billion as well. It took me long enough, but I finally made it.

Now to blow it all on ale and whores!
