"Arachnos submarine slammed two torpedoes into our side, Supa_Powered. We was comin' back from the island of Perigrine to Atlas Park... just delivered the bomb. The Mercy Island bomb. Two hundred men went into the water. Vessel went down in 2 minuets. Didn't see the first shark for about 30 seconds. Tiger. 13-footer. You know how you know that when you're in the water, Supa_Powered? You tell by looking from the dorsal to the tail fin. What we didn't know, was our bomb mission had been so secret, no distress signal had been sent. They didn't even list us overdue for a week. Very first light, Supa_Powered, sharks come cruisin', so we formed ourselves into tight groups. You know, it was kinda like old squares in the battle like you see in the calendar named "The Battle of Eden" and the idea was: shark comes to the nearest man, that man he starts poundin' and hollerin' and screamin' and sometimes the shark will go away... but sometimes he wouldn't go away. Sometimes that shark he looks right into ya. Right into your eyes. And, you know, the thing about a shark... he's got lifeless eyes. Black eyes. Like a doll's eyes. When he comes at ya, doesn't seem to be living... until he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white and then... ah then you hear that terrible high-pitched screamin'. The ocean turns red, and despite all the poundin' and the hollerin', they all come in and they... rip you to pieces. You know by the end of that first dawn, lost a hundred men. I don't know how many sharks, maybe a thousand. I know how many men, they averaged sixty an hour. On Thursday morning, Supa_Powered, I bumped into a friend of mine, Harvey Maylor from Mera Heights. Tabloid Editor. Boatswain's mate. I thought he was asleep. I reached over to wake him up. He bobbed up, down in the water just like a kinda top. Upended. Well, he'd been bitten in half below the waist. Noon, the fifth day, HardRider, a Longbow Flier saw us. He swung in low and he saw us... he was a young pilot, a lot younger than HardRider. Anyway, he saw us and he come in low and three hours later a big fat blimp comes down and starts to pick us up. You know that was the time I was most frightened... waitin' for my turn. I'll never put on a lifejacket again. So, two hundred men went in the water; 16 men come out and the sharks took the rest, December the 2nd, 2008. Anyway, we delivered the bomb."
That is why sharks are awesome.

Quote:So how about a real world example then? Does it take you more energy to lift 2 heavy things then it does one? Now apply the answer to why end would increase if you buffed more people at once. You know, I've heard this argument when I bought it up before and I still do not buy it. Yes, when the MM buffs were made AoE the endurance cost was increased but I do not believe the two situations are synonymous.
MM Pet Upgrades last until the pet is killed. Increasing the endurance cost of the upgrades adds a strategic element to them. If a single pet dies and you resummon them you have to decide whether to upgrade them immediately, wait until more pets need upgrading or even hold off until the end of the mission. It also serves to decrease the effectiveness of mid-combat summons slightly nerfing MMs.
The same is not true of the shield buffs. They are on a 4 minute timer so even if someone dies you were planning to re-bubble them in less than 4 minutes anyway. This eliminates the strategic element of buffing replacing it with spend X seconds and Y endurance every 4 minutes.
I don't like saying "other games do this so we should to" but this is one case where I think it is valid. If you look at a certain other MMO the duration and ease of casting of buff powers have been steadily improving. In the current incarnation a single cast buffs everyone in your team for 1 hour and have a relatively small mana cost.
Now I can see strong arguments in this game against increasing the duration of such buffs, they are very powerful and should not persist for long after the buffer has left the team. However I do not feel that making them easier to use would break the game.
The way I see it repeatedly casting single target buffs on fellow players is not good gameplay, it's make-work. As for balance, the buffs are designed to be cast continuously on an entire team, making that easier to do is not going to break the balance. The powers are not (or at least should not be) balanced around being hard to use.
Of the 100% uptime ST buffs powers there are basically 3 categories:
1. Shields on 4 minute durations
2. Mez protection buffs on 60 or 90 second durations
3. Speed Boost
The shields I think should be changed to buff the team with a single cast, no question about it. The sets they are in are pretty much designed around having that buff up 100% of the time so make it easier to do.
Mez protection buffs I think are fine as is. I wouldn't object to them being easier to use but I also don't think it is necessary. Doing an occasional cast either preemptively or in response to mezzing seems reasonable for them.
Speed Boost I think needs nerfing. I would like to see it made easier to use as well but I think it needs nerfing even in it's current form.
As to it being work, I have 2 answers. You(generic) do not need to buff everyone all the time. If you(generic) think it's work, you're doing it wrong. -
Quote:Pssst... If you would have scrolled down just a few threads, well, almost.
But seriously, these cut scenes are getting old really fast and the worst part is there is no way to skip past them. Can we atleast have the option to 'click' past this or give the team leader the option so we can agree to bypass the cutscene?

/Unsigned. Salvage is way to easy to obtain. It really isn't that hard to go through your recipies and see how much of a certain piece you need either.

Quote:I have to ask, are the demanding people paying for your account? If the answer is no, then no one but yourself is forcing you to do them. If the answer is yes, then i have no idea what to tell you.Its not that I can't get a team
Its not that I cannot finish a trial (that bug was finally fixed).
I AM making progress...
Its just that I am bored out of my mind repeating the same two bits of content repeatedly.
I haven't even finished the first judgement slot on one character, and I am not having fun doing these trials anymore.
Am I alone in this?
I can't even bear to log into the game because I know all I will be demanded to do is incarnate content, which is just the two same tired boring trials.
Seriously, slow down and do some other things to break up the monotany. -
You could always turn off xp if you are going to be in preatoria after you hit lv 20. It is your choice to stay there after lv 20. No one is forcing you to stay there.

Quote:You can please some of the people most of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time.No but by the same token your love of it doesn't make my disappointment any less valid.
Some folks may have more leisure than others to spend on the new content but I think it's shortsighted of the developers not to code in some extra leisure for those of us who don't have it.
'Nuff said?

Quote:So I could expect I21 in what, about 1-2 yrs? No thanks. For the upcoming issue, what if you were the head honcho calling the shots on what got done? What would you include in it?
For me:
1. Power customization for all powers. *Priority Number One. The Must-Have/Issue Theme.*
2. Two complete new costumes from head to toe. Also additional miscellaneous stuff for various body parts that wouldn't normally get a full costume (flat foot animal fur, wings at level one for animal characters, etc).
3. Radio and Newspaper missions could be used in every zone, not just selected zones.
4. Rework the lower level hero missions so that I'm not running to King's Row to get a mission to go to The Hollows. All missions (except maybe the major stuff) would have an entrance on the same map as the mission giver. Exceptions might be to meet new contacts, who would give a mission on the same map they are on, and not send you off somewhere else.
5. Allow capes at character creation. Don't require a mission to get them.
6. Add in a few new travel powers, such as fire flight and hoverboards. -
1: This has been asked for before. I have never had a problem finding a vendor that is close to the market. Not a bad idea though.
2: Also been asked for. Several times. More market slots, ok. More inventory slots on toons, not going to happen. Maybe a long time down the road, but the devs seem to think that it is fine now. good enough reason not to.
3: Also been asked for before. In different ways. One option suggested was to be able to remove them. Another was a pop up screen to accept/decline buff.
The key to my point can be found in the very first sentence in each answer. The search button is there for a reason. Use it. See if anyone else has suggested this before. Read the thread to see if you can add anything new to it, by starting another thread if the one you are reading is more then 2 months old, rather then just spout out a sentence or 2 as an idea. Remember that you have to convince the reader why your ideas are a good. -
I might get yelled at for this, but for those of us who know...
the uninformed
*Only some gentle ribbing. NO harm meant. -
Quote:There is one word in your first sentence that allows you to do just this.I think a dynamic respec like mids in game would be amazing, being able to view your combat attributes as you add powers and enhancements would be great too. Picking all your powers, then slotting them up only to see you slotted something wrong because you have an expensive enhancement you cant fit in your build or your tray? Major PITA
Then you don't have to worry about if you slotted something wrong. And you can also change that build multiple times until you do your respec in game to make sure you have it the way you want it.
