  1. Right long story short -slash-

    Long time warshade(r) started as tri, went human for a solid year, returned to tri a couple of months ago and stopped playing toon (my theory is that i dont really enjoy being 'tri')

    So i plan to return him to his roots ... whipped this up.

    What do you guys think?

  2. After reading yours guys thoughts about BU in toggle i did some thread hunting and found out that yeah ... dont do it is the general consensus anyway

    Does anyone see any improvements that can be made in my build? I would really appreciate any feedback and input you guys can give,

    I really , really like Scene_EU build with perma Dull pain but for me it was just a little to much defensive sacrifice to swallow ya know?

  3. Hey thanks for the response i was starting to fear the worst for SS/INV :S i mean is there a reason there (appears) to be so few around?

    As for your build, i really like that you got dull pain perma and without sacrificing the S/L one in range cap. For me your E/N is a little low ... Have you thought about swapping out assault in your build for Manoeuvres? Its a little end heavy but with 2-3 slots it can give you another 3-4% defence across the board *including our nemesis Psy!*

    Im fairly committed to Cardiac atm , im on tier 2 and am *todays* WTF/SF away from tier 3 .... Knowing how Redonkulously end heavy SS/INV is i thought it the safe bet + the extra res at tier 4 will shoot my s/l res to about 75% ...

    I have noticed that with 3 performance shifters +chance for end ((20% of each one firing and giving back 10% end)) thats 60% every 10secs of recovering 10% end! very nice to cope with all the rage crashes ....

    I think Cardiac is the Alpha for me , i just wish i could see a way to get Dull pain perma ... or at least something like 10 secs downtime , without nerfing my build *and tbh i cant commit enough time/patience to get purple sets*

    just out of curiosity how would you rate your fully slotted toon for survivability? My only other 'hardy' toon is a Ma/Sr scrapper ... who *bar incarnate content :S* is very durable ... can i expect more once im fully slotted? Im thinking ? Solo ITF standards ((not the AVs ofc i doubt SS/INV has the dps without temps ))
  4. I recently decided i waned to deck out my SS/INV Brute ... but wait there's more! ...

    Realising ever more I prefer melee based characters and after seeing SS/ farmers left right and centre and INV/ tanks , well surviving :P i looked into my toon list and what did i see? My only Brute at lvl 50 , a long since forgotten SS/INV !

    Along side a build * to follow i would like to ask a few questions;

    -Why so few SS/INV brute related questions? i can fin but a handful going back up to 30 pages ((also to this date i honestly dont believe i have ever seen a SS/INV Brute Union btw*-

    -Rage?! Yahy or nahy, with Brutes fury bar, Foot stomp to fill, Invincibility for +tohit and a kismet in CJ ... yahy or nahy?-

    -Are my dreams of a Brute being a monster unrealistic? AV soloing? Last man standing? out surviving 'squisher' tanks ?-

    and here is my thinking build wise ....

    The MFing warshade guide was certainly something, i really like "you are all forms at all times" section. Thats exactly what i need to start doing! spending so long as human form only I certainly view them as forms and not just other powers i can use...

    Im still not sold 100% tbh ... I do think human only is a little more interesting that tri , but things may change with some more time on him.

    I still would appreciate some build critique from the community tbh, thats to Dechs i think i am mentally now a tri shade but im still not sure if my build is tri shade worthy

    One of my long standing main toons has been a Human form Warshade. A very successful one aswell *IOed up, near perma hasten yada yada*

    However I was running some Hero tips yesterday with a friend and i was getting constantly mezzed ... it was ridiculous nearly a whole tray of wakies had been used in less than 2 mobs, and i thought "It dosnt need to be this way"

    *For the record I really dislike the incarnate powers. Imo its easy mode for people to lazy to invest in there toon and makes me sad so nobody say get tier 4 Clarion! :P + if i grind another trial i think i will implode*

    So i literally smashed this tri form build together and implemented it all within 15mins ... i guess you can call it a Rage Respec *you heard it hear 1st*

    I have long since forgotten what is needed for a tri form shade and any and every bit of advice would be more than welcome

    Im fairly new to Doms my only previous one being a lvl 26 mind/fire which tbh ... i cant stand *gasp* ... the ultra soft control of mainly sleep isnt for me.

    So i went for the oh so popular Gravity ... thematically Grav/Nrg makes a great combo but I have heard nothing but negative press about Grav from just about everyone.

    He is now lvl 26 *almost defiantly would be higher had a not spent the last 2 hours 'wormholing' lowbies in Atlas ^^ ... ive knocked out a build ...

    Highlighs:

    2 secs of perma hasten without Incarnate
    S/L defense capped

    Low Points:

    To many attacks?
    Defense not needed?

    I asked just about the only person i know with a 50 IOed Grav/ for advice **also saw him Wormhole weakened Hamidon during a LGTF out of his bubble very cool**
    He says Singularity is nothing short of a game changer ... the perma repel effect he/she/it* :P has ... has me thinking ... if i have that around me knocking things away aswell as the /Nrg KB and soft control/ mitigation do i need to bother with that much defense?
    Could i instead dip into the Fire APP and make up for the lack of AoE Grav/Nrg has with a nice fireball and/or RoF?

    I guess im asking for an Experienced Grav/Nrg Domi to let me know just how much it all changed once you get the pet?

    Also as a side note i 95% team and 5% Duo ... almost never solo, so again leaning more towards the AoE than Defense ... Any who here is the build i knocked up as advertised with 2 sec of perma hasten and S/L defense capped.

    you basically confirmed what I had always suspected *guess my concept made me to proud to change this long ago*

    Recently i finished a Ill/Rad build that now can solo GMs, now i want the same sort of relative build potential from my scrapper

    The term scrapper tricks springs to mind

    I know /SR has accomplished some pretty mean feats in its time and MA/ as a high damage single target set seems likely that it could also pull a rabbit or two out of the hat.

    So what if i want to be that scrapper that hands a Tank a wakie dammit! >.<'

  13. Ive recently returned to the game after a short break and having deleted my Mids when i left i lost all my builds data current and planned.

    Specifically my Ma/Sr , he currently has a build that puts him well over the 45% positional defense requirement of a /SR and sits at more around 55% on M/R/AoE

    I figure ... this means there is likely some-alot of wasted space in my build since /SR dosnt suffer from Defense Debuff building for more than 45% is a waste? correct?

    Anyways whilst he rocks for most of the time its more when it rains it pours ... and i often find myself desperately combining insp to make a green to keep me alive when the hits make it through ... this lead me to believe Aid Self would be a good idea? just looking for some feedback really for your thoughts on having more than 45% for 'end game' content and if Aid Self is worth it?

    WOW Streetlight unbelievable job with that build without Maneuvers! ....

    Keeping S/L softcapped, Dull pain with maxed charge and heal small end consumption and good resistance regen/end all that good stuff aswell

    However our earlier posts with the 40% E/N do sound more appealing to me tbh

    Same overall out come end usage wise with the Cardiac and better Res from it

    * The idea of the extra power in place of FA is tempting though Super speed for theme or recall friend for quality of life :P

    It was my understanding from other threads that even though your 'dodging' incoming attacks it still builds up fury, the example used was a /SR Brute ... but im not 100% sure as ive only ever seen one discussion about it

    As for the rest of your build whilst i like some ideas like fitting in a range attack be it laser beams or hurl i feel you have sacrificed to much s/l resistance to achieve it :S

    I also DISLIKE Makeovers and also toyed with a build where i soft capped S/L defense without it , but with the idea of going down cardiac route it makes it viable to sustain in combat and the all round def it offers not just to S/L is nice

    I like the ideas of Hami's alot and maybe when i save up for them one day ill have to re-jiggle the build to save space in some of toggles *also u used the PvP 3% Defense! i cannot afford that! can anyone?!*

    Thanks for all the feedback guys its really great to hear other peoples view/opinions/tactics when it comes to there toons

    Firstly thank you very much for your reply and ideas Streetlight its very much appreciated

    I like what you've done with the build and after investigating a bit as to why you favored Energy/Negative defense over Fire/Cold i found out why

    So i took on board alot of what u changed and managed to get to 40% E/N as well as softcaped S/L

    Re-jiggled a few slots from Hasten, Invincibility and Taunt ((Love the idea of putting the Perception bonus in Invincibility so it will pulse activate correct? ))

    The only thing im not sold on is the choice of Alpha

    Despite the heavy end reduction slotting i still feel Cardiac is for me though, the end usage still seems very high and in a long fight against a EB/AV for example if the team needs to regroup i need to be able to fight for as long as possible ... also at tier 3 it grants a bonus to Resistance which sounds very yummy

    Well heres what ive done *its not finale* but im feeling very good about it :P

    Thanks again for your input maybe theres still things i can improve though?

    It seems i am the polar opposite to the majority of players to comment so far then.

    Im always deleting toons , ive even deleted a 50 ...

    I have a loyalty obsession to be faithful to my main 3 toons (Dr. Daydream ill/rad/cold controller , Sam Swift Ma/Sr/Body Scrapper , Shady Sam (Human WS) ... i often role new toons with the hope that they will 'cut the mustard' and be worthy to become the 4th main but so far none have passed the test

    Ive deleted alot of toons ... wouldnt even like to guess the figure but hey thats just me.

    You know when a foe gets stuck behind a wall and only PBAoE cant get them?

    Lets say u lack *god only knows why* ANY sort of PBAoE on your toon ...

    About a year ago a made a fire/kin with the intention of making enough money for my self that i could actually IO out my toons as planned ...

    but then it took about 6 months of from CoH before returning i have since made enough money from TF drops *2 purples * to finish my MA/SR build and IO out my perma PA ill/rad build *thanks local man*

    now money is tight again and with my earth doms 50 just around the corner i needz moneyz ^^

    How do u think this build would fair as a farmer? im thinking the old skool battle maiden type maps in PI

    I can see the cardiac alpha is pretty much needed and any other advice would be very helpful to this novice farmer
