Also of note, if you /unbind the f6-f9 the defualt emotes work properly too as long as you don't load a bind file with them in it ( I set up the key map I wanted saved it then deleted those from it and loading that doesn't break them).
[/ QUOTE ] I also recommend this to people. All too often I see people yelling out with the broken code.
People don't always realize that using /unbind doesn't really unbind a given key, but sets it back to it's (unbroken) default.
Oh.. and you have to hit enter twice courtesy of the new chat bug. Using your example, if you pressed f12 and tried to type, nothing would show up. If you press enter again and then re-open the chat, the message you tried typing before will finally show up.
"awsdaswawwwwwwwwddddd FTW!" lol

I find that bug amusing after playing on the Market for awhile and having the composite of all my sell prices shows up. -

Mid's doesn't help us Mac users who don't have access to Windows...
[/ QUOTE ]
Mac was my first and only brand of computer for about 10 years. I gave it several chances to catch up in terms of its compatibility issues with... everything. I tried...
But, I couldn't wait any longer. My life became 20,000 times easier with a PC, and I could finally install CoH on my machine (pre-Mac release, of course). I feel your pain, I really do, but that's Mac for you.
[/ QUOTE ]
I am showing this post to my brother the next time he starts ardently insisting that I buy a Macintosh.
That aside, I really don't think the devs are responsible for creating an offline character creation tool, especially not when Mid's already exists. I wouldn't know where to begin making Mid's work on a Mac, though.

This has the information you want, but the tags no longer work in custom binds or, to my knowledge, macros. Unless something has changed you can do a work around by doing the tags as a "header," i.e. beginchat <color #0000ff>BLUE SWORD!, but you will have to hit enter after clicking the macro.
[/ QUOTE ] As long as the <> are placed automatically (including beginchat), they wont work. You'd have to hand-type it every time, which defeats the purpose of a macro or bind.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just tested the begin chat bind I suggested and it worked fine.
[/ QUOTE ] People have been complaining about the beginchat colors not working since i12. If you have an old bind that was created pre-i12, it should still work, but like you said, any bind created after the chat system change will convert the <>, and wont parse as a command.
I'll admit I haven't tested it myself recently, but if this is true, there will be many people very happy. I would have expected a celebratory post about it by now. lol
[/ QUOTE ]
I logged in entered "/bind f12 beginchat <color #0000ff>BLUE SWORD!" I clicked f12 and then enter twice (not sure why but hitting it once only put the curser in the chat bar) and got a white buble with blue letters.
This isn't the first time I've gotten it to work since the tags were broken, believe I did it just after either i13 or 14 went live but not certain. At that time I was able to get manual typing and and beginchat to work, only direct speach binds were broken (i.e l <color #0000ff>BLUE SWORD!).
Also of note, if you /unbind the f6-f9 the defualt emotes work properly too as long as you don't load a bind file with them in it ( I set up the key map I wanted saved it then deleted those from it and loading that doesn't break them). -

Angel proper names seem to end in "ael". Michael, Azrael, Gabriel...
[/ QUOTE ]The -el suffix translates to "of God" where each angel is being named after some attribute of God. Michael is "Strength of God", Raphael is "Medicine of God", Uriel is "Light of God", etc. So you could decide on a word, try to translate it into Hebrew, stick an -el at the end and have a quasi-authentic angel name.
[/ QUOTE ]
As far as I can tell Michael means "who is like God" Raphael is "God has healed" and Uriel is "God is my light." -

Didn't someone do a video of the Fall of Atles on Valor Bridge in IP? I remember seeing it during the lead-up to the 5th Anniversary Homage video contest.

Samuraiko's 5th Anniversary Commemorative Video.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep, that was me and my 5th anniversary video. And it didn't qualify for the Video Homage contest because a) I released it a day early, b) it's too long, and c) it's demorecorded instead of live action.
It is entirely possible to build a character that large in the game - *I* did it using democode, not any trick in Sony Vegas or somesuch. No reason why THEY can't do it.
So yeah, devs, build an official Atlas and let's see a TF/SF of Atlas vs the 5th Column, circa 1941.

Did I hear something about a completely revamped costume maker coming? I think it was in the Going Rogue announcement. Did I just imagine that?
Maybe, just maybe, they'll finally expand the legs section and add a bunch more details all over. That would be cool.
[/ QUOTE ]
Seriously? This sounds amazing if it's true!!
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah well I can't find it now to save my life. I must have been smoking something.

Costume creater 2.0 was mentioned in the expansion survey which may or may not be related to Going Rogue. -

Get rid of the F-ing backpack when I dual-build into a Bane-spec! I can't -have- 'Off Duty' clothes with the giant spider legs sticking out of my lower spine. So please grant me the concession of dual-building into plain-clothes! >_<
-Rachel-
[/ QUOTE ]
Not only is there a technical reason why the backpack can't be removed (y'know, because it took freaking forever to get it to work properly AT ALL), but in-story, the backpack is surgically grafted to a Crab Spider's spine and connected to his nervous system.
[/ QUOTE ]
Unless the the backpack is one solid piece (movable parts indicate it isn't) theres no reason it couldn't be only the control nodes are fused to the spine while the actual mechanical parts are removable. Heck, If the pack isn't modular in some fasion, it'd be impossible to repair large scale damage. -
As far as I know the event Rikti are just like any non-mothership raid Rikti and have a 10% chance to drop a number of merits based on Rank ; minions drop one, lieutenants drop two, and bosses and higher drop three; and when they drop they go to a random member of the team.

Though Crabs/Banes cannot be helmetless, IIRC, because they have a non-standard skeleton.
[/ QUOTE ]Pretty sure that's not true.

Standard Skeleton, but the helmets odd attachment was cited as the reason they can't have the glowing eyes the NPC versions get.
Also for anyone interested here's a screen shot of the glitched interface. -
For refrance, according to City info Tracker there are 762 hero and 687 villain badges currently (I think its around 80 being dropped in i15).

how about the latin version of my name (also the characters name) Juste

JUSTE

Usage: French
French form of JUSTUS
JUSTUS
Gender: Masculine
Usage: Ancient Roman
Roman family name which meant "just" in Latin. This name was borne by at least eight saints.
You might try ensifer or ensiger which both mean sword-bearing. -
[ QUOTE ]
I need a way to make this name
gensistirps
a little easier
it roughly is the combined latin words for family (genus) Sword (ensis) and Blood (Stirps)
[/ QUOTE ]
According to this latin gramer aid:
stirps (stirpes stirpis) stirpis , f. rarely m. [the stock or stem of a plant; a young shoot]; of men, [stock, source, origin]; of things, [root, foundation].
sanguis -inis m. (and sanguen , n.) [blood]. Transf. [blood-relationship, race, family, progeny; life-blood, strength, vigor]. -

For Bruce Wayne/Batman the normal man is the true nature and the hero is the affectation while for Clark Kent/Superman the normal man is the act and the hero persona is his true self.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've always seen it as just the opposite. At least, that's how the DCAU characterizes them, so that's good enough for me.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd even go s far and say there is NO normal man with Batman. There is only Batman and the disguises Batman wears. Bruce Wayne is one of these. If needed, Batman can shed the Bruce Wayne character, but he can't stop being Batman. I think there was a story arc where Bruce Wayne was wanted, so Batman shed the Bruce Wayne disguise until he could clear its name.
[/ QUOTE ]
Perhaps Bruce has warn the mask so long that even he thinks its his own skin, but at the core of Batman is the idea that a normal man becomes something more.
[ QUOTE ]
Clark Kent is an idealist raised in the country. He's an honest and helpful man. Who, by the way, is from the plant Krypton and can benchpress continents. But he's still an honest and helpful man. With that kind of power, he became Superman. What he thinks a true hero should be. Superman is an idealistic boyscout, because that's how Clark sees the ideal hero, and he has the power to act on that ideal. If he needed to, Clark could stop being Superman and settle down quietly. But as long as Superman is needed, he'll keep up the act.
[/ QUOTE ]
Except what Im reffuring to as the "Clark Kent" Persona isn't the "Kryptonian raised in Kansas" its the "I'm a normal guy/bumbling fool" that he puts on while in public as Clark Kent. No matter how down to earth he is he's still a super powered being pretending to be normal. -

Every civilian in Paragon City is, in fact, a hero. Yep, that's right. Every one you see walking in the streets who isn't an enemy is actually a super hero in their secret identity.
Think about it! Clark Kent always has to play the bumbling, helpless buffoon when there are witnesses around! You see him cowering before a man with a gun, but the second you turn your back.. WHAM! Unconscious bad guy!
[/ QUOTE ]
Reminds me of the Kill Bill monologe, Bruce Wayne is Batman, But Superman is just the opposite, he his Superman and pretends to be Clark Kent.
[/ QUOTE ]
The scene in which Bill shows he does not understand the characters at all.
Clark Kent is the adopted son of Jonathan and Martha Kent. He also happens to have superpowers and decided to put on blue tights and help the world. He was called "Superman" by the public, and he adopted the alias as his own.
Batman is the persona created by an 8-year-old boy whose parents were shot dead in front of him. Through years and years of training, Batman became the Dark Knight who stalks the night in order to prevent tragedies like his own from happening again. During the day, he pretends to be billionaire playboy "Bruce Wayne" both to throw off the scent of him being Batman, and to gather information that Batman cannot.
Clack is Superman, Batman is Bruce Wayne.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think you may have taken the line too litteral and missed the point.
The idea is that both characters have 2 personas, the hero (Batman/Superman) and the normal man (Bruce Wayne/Clark Kent). For Bruce Wayne/Batman the normal man is the true nature and the hero is the affectation while for Clark Kent/Superman the normal man is the act and the hero persona is his true self.
