Drop Rate of Vanguard Merits during Rikti Zone Atk
As far as I know the event Rikti are just like any non-mothership raid Rikti and have a 10% chance to drop a number of merits based on Rank ; minions drop one, lieutenants drop two, and bosses and higher drop three; and when they drop they go to a random member of the team.
Alaris has it correct. Unless you're on a mothership raid, each rikti only gives you a chance for merits (10% chance for someone on the team to get some)
If you're on a mothership raid, each rikti your team gets kill credit for gives everyone on your team the merits.

[/ QUOTE ] This.
The rikti invasion event has the same chance as any other rikti.
It's the foes during player-events like a Mothership Raid in RWZ that will give you 1 merit for each foe your team gets credit for.
You had it correct before, it's for each foe damaged, even just a little, that you will get a merit for on the Rikti mothership raid.
I often run solo on my empath defender on Protector's weekly raid, and I have thousands of merits. I am certainly not getting kills. I watch the tanks round them up, drop and irradiate in the middle of it, and the merits just roll in while I get back to healing/buffing everyone in sight.

[/ QUOTE ] LoL thanks. I thought so, but I figured I'd disclaimer it just in case.
It's still right though (because -1 is enough for credit). lol
An Aside: Caltrops, Ignite and DoT FTW! lol
I always thought it was hit it once = 1 merit.
I'm really glad someone put this up.
EDIT: I'm referring to ship raids. I did notice on missions they drop less often. Are... Are ship raids the same? Hmm I Dunno. I'll scroll up to see if someone already answered that question.

Yep, "hit it once = 1 merit" (for ship raids), but don't misunderstand.. hitting it twice is NOT 2 merits. lol
Ship Raids and Invasions are completely separate things.
And yes.. the answers are above. Happy Shopping!
Futher questions - during normal play, is the chance 10% for any MOB conning green or higher?
Also, do Rikti Monkeys, Rikti Drones, and summoned Rikti have that same 10% chance to drop a merit on you?
Lastly, shouldn't the OP have at least received a merit at the completion of each mission, or do those only go to the mission holder?

The OP was participating in Rikti invasions, not doing missions in the RWZ.

Rikti Monkeys don't drop Merits at all, and neither do summoned Rikti (as far as I recall). Drones drop the same as other Minions though.

If you can get XP, you can get drops.
IIRC, if it's a boss that's grey without the down arrows in the Target window, then no xp.

There are some grey lts and bosses that still give a little bit of XP, but, since they're grey... no drops.
Conning green or better is what drops are tied to.

First, I have the Member of Vanguard badge, I haven't completed the joining vanguard arc yet, but I did complete the first mission and get the badge.
So what I'm wondering is are the rikti zone events supposed to give you merits for defeat? Everywhere I read it says that yes, these events count and can net you merits. Yet I participated in one yesterday, start to finish, with a 6 man team, and go no merits. We were right in the fray of it and I was laying multiple debuffs on the entire group while the rest of the team killed them, I even saw my pet take one from full to no health solo, but I netted 0 merits. Is that unusual, just plain unlucky, or weird? Thanks!
