Follow the guide posted above, and then go here to input the avatar's URL and hit submit. You'll have to input your password at the top of the page first though.

The only way is to request a moderator to "lock" the thread, and that could take anywhere from 24 to 72 hours depending on when the moderator is next online. Here is a link to our favorite moderator's profile, you can send him a private message from there.
One final bit of advice, learn how to properly capitalize and punctuate your sentences, otherwise people might make fun of you in the future, and no one wants that!

The avatar question has been answered, but as far as the stop posts thing - there is really no need unless it's getting out of hand. We actually like people to leave their posts up just in case someone else comes along and has the same question(s). It saves us time.
Ok, so sometimes threads degenerate into silly tangents - if it gets out of hand, you can report it to a mod. But in general, eventually it'll stop getting posted on, and go inactive, and the thread will be purged in the next automatic forum purge.

Pretty flippin' demanding, Forum Neophyte, arent we? Yes. You can go to Mod08 or someone else and get a thread locked. Why? Go with the flow. Let the inanities flow a bit, and maybe join in the fun once in a while. THAT is how these Forums and the denizens therein keep their sanity after hearing the same stupid question for the 63,429 & 1/2 time, and generally keep a sunny outlook on life within the individual Fora.
And spelling, grammar and PUNCTUATION (not to mention capitalization) are part of proper communication. As are paragraphs (you do quite well with that BTW), so some are a bit more AR about it than others. Meh. Deal with it, move on and keep a smile. It's all good.

The forums here tend to be a bit kinder than most. Rest assured that if anyone makes fun of you for not having a picture, they will be subject to the forum's wrath and derision, not you. If you want to stay on people's good side, please avoid making personal attacks or "this [whatever you don't like about the game] sucks!" threads.
There's no denying, though, that people can be jerks here sometimes, too. If it starts getting out of hand and someone starts breaking the Forum Rules and Guidelines, don't hesitate to notify the moderator.
Look at the bottom of any post (this one will do). Notice that there is a small section titled, "Post Extras." There are three icons: one of a printer, one of a finger with a ribbon around it, and one of a piece of paper with a line through it. The one on the far right (the paper with the line) is the "Notify Moderator" button. Click on it and let them know of any inappropriate posts. You will be prompted if you're sure if you want to moderate the post, so if you want to click it on this post and see what it says, feel free to do so. Any serious violations should be reported to Moderator 08 or Niviene.

Welcome to the forums, demon_conquer! Take your time when composing a post, proofread it all you want, we're a patient lot and will probably never know the difference. (Except for appreciating the greater readability.) Punctuation, especially question marks, helps a lot when posting questions, amirite?
