I should think it's more the word brute itself. While it may be possible to play a Brute with a lot of finesse such a character couldn't really be called a brute.

I get the impression that having an in game event give a global badge is relatively new "tech" and wasn't available before it was introduced for AE. That being said, if I remember right, Posi had said he was looking into changing the anniversary badges but I don't think anything more has been said about it.

The first quote mark combines with the very last one, at the end of the bind, so the key takes the whole chain.

Quote:Hi:
It occurred to me that at one time the only way to get the EOCHAI and Jack in Irons badge was to pursue them during the Halloween events, but thankfully the Croatoa zone has these characters and all the necessary mobs to earn all the related badges that goes with the halloween setting.
Unless something changed while I wasn't paying attention this isn't the case, the badges you get in Croatoa aren't the Halloween ones. Also I believe the Croatoan MOBs were re-used for the event, not the other way around. -
Plus at Hero-con the devs said they were adding a mail system, so that aspect will be even easier.

Quote:That depends on two things
1 - The cost to move an object the size of the monthership between dimensions
2 - The cost of building and maintaining the mothership.
If #1 remains fairly constant, and to be honest there is nothing in game to say it would not, then there will be a point reached where the cost to build the mothership is less than to move the individual components via smaller portals.
However if the in game physics maintain any tie to real world then it will cost more to move an object of greater mass, even through dimensions. Then it is a matter of which way offers the most benefit against the cost.
I still can not see any benefit of bringing a massive space craft for an interdiemtnional war that will never leave the atmosphere and create a major point of failure unless, as noted earlier, it is about the bling bling.
I'm pretty sure is cost a lot more to build an Aircraft Cairier and get it to a combat area than to just send lots of troops, but we still do it.
The Mother-ship was likely built with intra-dimensional travel at least partly in mind due to the Rikti having had actual extraterrestrial encounters. They fought and won a war with the Battalion of their dimension, so they likely had space capable warships just sitting around. Having the Rikti use non-space capable warships would be like a modern military using biplanes.
Plus inter-dimensional portals seem to be rather trivial to the Rikti given they maintained "thousands upon thousands" of them (ranging in size from 9 feet to 100 yards) at 28 locations around they world for at least 3 hours before they actually used them.
As a side note, many of the Rikti craft did retreat into space during the first day of the invasion -

Quote:I may be wrong, but from what I remember camera reset only changes yaw rotation, the pitch is un-effected.There is a default key for "Reset Camera", which is what it is called in the keybinds menu and it does this very thing. I rebound it to "C" years ago, no clue what the default is.
Quote:Interestingly, Cryptic seems to have a more relaxed attitude about it, nowadays. For example, in my short time playing CO, I saw a character named Tony Shark - his costume looked just like Iron Man (and I mean, JUST like Iron Man - their costume creator has even more elements that look exactly like their comic-book inspirations), with the exeption that he had a shark's head. The number of characters like that running around CO was pretty crazy - I didn't notice any actual Iron Men or Incredible Hulks, mind you, just very obvious parodies.
Of course, CoH was like that, too, around the time of launch - but NCSoft made it clear that was not kosher, even though parody is protected by law. I mean, yes, by all means, protect the game by getting rid of ACTUAL copyright violation - but, I've never understood why NCSoft takes it further than that, and genericizes characters that are NOT in violation of copyright law?
I suppose, since they actually got sued by Marvel, they do it as a goodwill gesture toward them and other copyright holders, hoping to avoid further lawsuits. Whereas, perhaps Cryptic, having actually been working with Marvel for awhile, has a better understanding of exactly where the line is drawn? -
Also remember to check around for better pricing (Some of the vendors on Amazon are insane).

Quote:I believe they mentioned no War Walls in either the keynote panel or the "Praetoria Utopia with a price" panel. As to size, in the picture here in Fuzun's gallery the square created by the building is suppose to be as large as Atlas Park.Oh and didn't I hear mention that there would be NO WAR WALLS in Praetoria? If this is true then 'only 1 or 2 new zones is poor' depends entirely on how big those zones are...

Quote:I believe it was during the "Wouldn't It Be Great If..." panel Posi mentioned we'd be able to act as "gun runners," buying items from one market, then switching sides and selling them for a possible profit. You can check the Podcasts here.I don't believe this has been stated categorically yet, actually. If it was, then it may have been during one of the individual Hero Con panels I didn't attend -- I know for a fact it was NOT addressed in the "main" GR presentation during the HC prenote address, nor during a couple of the panels that I did attend.

I don't believe the system actually tracks which Day Job you are at while logged off, as I understand it determines which badge gets credit as you log back in.

/architect can be used without the accolade, provided you are in the main room of the Architect building.

Quote:The First Rikti War ended on November 27, 2002.Standard code rant applies.
That being said, do we have an established date for the end of the first rikti war (perhaps the date of the alpha/omega gambit)? It would make for a worldwide celebration day that still falls within canon. -
Quote:He's actually no longer buried.A 5th Column takeover of Boomtown would be really neat, especially considering who's buried under the old Freedom Phalanx base there.
And I could just be miss remembering But I think in one of the Hero-con pod casts, one of the devs says they have plans for Boomtown. -
Its a bug, if you have Rage applied while the crash de-buff is on the character, the -DEF is turned off.

Quote:I wasn't actually advicating that as the way it should be slotted, only pointing out what it would take with only SOs.Four even level SOs of a single type are effectively no different than 3. The real difference is under a couple % which means that it would change the amount by under 1%. Spending the inf or even the time to do that, and wasting the slot on it, is ludicrous.
Correct me if I'm wrong but three lvl 30/35 IOs would be much more appropriate and would accomplish the same thing. -
3 +3 SOs leaves 1.7s of the -DEF while 4 even level SOs will have it a recharged as it crashes.

Quote:Mace and Rifle customization is the same as any weapon set, and the crab pack will replace the back options. The mace and pack become available after you take powers from their respective sub-archetype, and it important to note the pack will remain visible on the character if either of your builds have crab powers regardless of which is active. For Mace Mastery, I believe it was set up such that it will use the mace from your costume.Only four levels from my first 50.
I have every intention of doing Crab for one build and Bane for the secondary. How do you select customization for both? Is it automatically there or do I have to switch builds to access both the backpack and the mace? Also, which mace option does the Black Scorpion PP use so that I can make sure I can match it? -
Quote:No worries, I think even the Devs have trouble keeping the 2 straight. And Just o add even more confusion, versions of some of the splasher artwork characters (including BaBs, and the women in question) appear in the CoV disc case artwork which we know to be set in 2005 (see second question here).Ah, sorry Shadowe, all these Misses and Ms ....es (?). Read that wrong my bad. It could be Miss Liberty, you're right.

The mailing system is coming, one of the programmers there had already been assigned that task. Account based inventory is possible, though seems unlikely due to comments they make in the same podcast about recipe storage. The Devs are afraid that if they give us more storage we will hoard, driving market prices even higher. Plus they cite our current ability to transfer items as the reason our starting storage is so pitiful, so I doubt increased ease of transferring would be coupled with greater inventory space.
-
In the "Wouldn't It Be Great If..." podcast the devs comment on both item mailing and global storage.
