Would it be possible to buy (real money) a badge transfer token?

I am wondering if it would be possible to purchase a badge transfer token, for real cash?

This is what I am thinking. I have characters that I honestly will never play again, even thoe we have new end game coming, I do not like playing some of them. And these characters, some of them... are like heavy badge collectors.

So, what I would like to do is - Buy for real money a token that will strip ALL of the badges from 1 character, and move them to a different character?

I have some characters that have the 2nd year anniversary badge... since that is when I showed up... I would like that badge reflected on my actual main badge collector.

As a secondary thought, why dont the anniversary badges go to all of your characters in the first place? Like the AE/Vet Badge spam when you make a new character?

But anyways, I am sure lots of you have no need for this type of QoL feature, but I do know some people from ingame that would like this besides me.

I get the impression that having an in game event give a global badge is relatively new "tech" and wasn't available before it was introduced for AE. That being said, if I remember right, Posi had said he was looking into changing the anniversary badges but I don't think anything more has been said about it.

AE's badges are awarded for in-game actions (clicking/killing/saving, etc), which in turn flags the account globally.

The anniversary badges function more like veteran rewards - there's a flag that trips.
--For veteran rewards, this flag trips when the account reaches X time elapsed.
--Anniversary badges are currently flagged to only trip if you log in a character during X time. They can be changed to trip if ANY character logs in during X time.
----This can be changed retroactively, as evidenced by the AE badge changes (several badges were introduced as character badges and were then changed to account badges - logging a character in with the character badge trips the account badge flag)

<standard code rant>

I'd really like to see anniversary badges account-based.

Might be odd suddenly passing a level 1 character all the accolades and Master of Lord Recluse Strike Force but I don't see it as being damaging.

That said, I'd really like to be able to pass my Healing badges off to my brute. otherwise there's no way he'll ever get them unless I make a second build with Aid Another and farm it.

I am 99.99999999999% sure she wanted to say for level 50 characters only, as to not mess up the Accolades... etc

Hmm...the badges will have been earned anyway, one way or another...
I know people will go 'Waaah, you should have to earn them again like everyone else!' but...well, everyone will get to use it anyway..
Meh. Don't see why not. Little QoL and more revenue.

I would like for certain badges to be made global, particularly and especially the anniversary badges.

It's probably a much more likely that we'll simply get the anniversary badges and others made permanent rather than a new mechanism be made to simply shift all badges from one character to another. The challenges and problems involved in creating a system such as this (especially as a token, which suggests that you'd simply buy it and activate it yourself) would likely prevent it from ever seeing much development especially when you consider that it's most likely much easier to simply change the badge (as Agge showed).

Let me elaborate on this.
I have every Anniversary badge on some character somewhere, but no more than two on any given one.
I have most of the vet badges on every character.
I have a fair number of AE badges on every character, whether they've ever stepped into an AE building or not.

Most of the AE badges are themed about the actions of one particular character. Whether clicking on a glowie or slaying a custom critter. Some of the AE badges are themed about the actions of the player (first to rate a new arc, created a custom critter, etc.). Yet almost all of them they are account-based.

The Vet badges are themed about the actions of the player, specificly: maintaining the account over time. And they are account-based for this reason.

The Anniversary Badges, IMO, are more about having your account current and using it during the Anniversaries than about the ingame activities of a character. Thinking about it, they are awarded for logging in, before the character has walked a single step or activated a single power. This is more like a Vet Reward badge to me than it is like any other. It should be account-wide, and I'd be willing to pay some small amount (not too much, but some) to make it so.

Paying to have all applicable badges account-wide would interest me greatly. I would be more than happy if the following would occur:
1) I pay my $5-10.
2) I log in to see that my new L1 hero has all the badges that any of my blue-siders has. Anniversary, Accomplishment, etc. Yet, some of them have an asterisk by them.
These ones with the asterisk can be used as titles (as any other badge) and can unlock weapon skins (Like the Tommy Gun from Untouchable, etc.). But they must be earned on that specific character in order to count towards an Accolade.
3) I enjoy my unlocked weapons to create a L1 Blaster with a Tommy Gun or a L1 Scrapper with a Rularu Sword, then get to pester my SG mates in order to take me to Striga to work on Council Warwolves and Vampyrs to get my Atlas Medallion.

Hmmmmmm, perma unlock weapons, YES PLEASE.

...Okay, I now officially love this idea.

Why not just make all the badges that unlock costume pieces unlock the costume pieces account wide, though? Give villains an easier time of getting the Rularuu weapons and a way to get the witch hat, for example.

I was going to address the faction-specific badges.
Originally, within this account-wide set-up, I would have still been okay if it forced certain badges to remain faction-specific. Currently Explore badges in zones that are neither PvP nor Co-op are locked out by faction, as are the TF/SF badges and PPP badges.
The Rularuu weapons unlock badge is currently unlockable by both sides, for example, but not the witch-hat one.

But with GR coming around and characters able to switch factions, what badge will ever be completely locked from a character born on the otherside? Faction Switch->Ouroboros should get you Isolator and Jail Bird.
Might as well allow them to be cross-faction while we're going account-wide.

I don't see much of a need to strip them off of the original, although there was a time where I wanted to remove badges from a character.

When the AE came out, a whole lot of badges were implemented with it. I immediately dove headfirst into the AE and ran a lot of missions so that I could earn a lot of badges. And, of course it was fun to see what my fellow players had written. I heard there was some farming, but paid it little attention. I avoided cashing in tickets because there was a badge for hitting the ticket cap. I clicked every glowy and killed every critter (custom and otherwise) that I could, just for teh shiney badjiz.
Then I found out just what level of exploiting and PL'ing was going on. Folks that had multiple L50's in thier first week in game and no idea that there were zones other than Atlas Park.
I was ashamed of my AE badges, as now they started to look like the Scarlet Letter.

Later, when a number of AE badges were deleted from the game, I was a little unhappy, as they were badges that I had gone somewhat out of my way for and altered my intended game play in order to get. I felt that I had wasted my time a little.

Well, the reason I want to remove all the badges from one of my alts is because I dont want her to have any.

Ages ago I made a plant psi dom... hated her from beginning to end (1 to 50) deleted her once even, when I was angry. Had NC get her back to the account for me... as she was -was- my main badge hunter on villains... >.<

She has most of all the badges redside, I dont ever play. I have angst built up internally with that alt. I wanna buy a token, where I can take all of those badges off. And put them on a character that I love, who is also level 50... who is a character I want to be my now and forever badge hunter.

Know what I mean?

I guess I do know what you mean. I had a L50 Regen Scrapper once. I loved that character and how well he performed...until that fateful day. It was the first week of I-5. I entered a CoT cave and engaged the foe that I had been easily slaying throughout his career.
Instant Healing wouldn't stay toggled on, having been reduced to a click.
Killed by two spawns on Heroic.
I logged off in disgust.

He sits unused since then. I'd delete him, but he had been my badgehunter, and many of those I can no longer get, like the earlier Anniversary badges.

What I don't understand is why you would play a character you hated from L1-L50, as you did your Plant/Psi Dom. To each thier own.

Perhaps she was coerced into playing that character regularly by significant other? I know my wife's got a few high level characters she doesn't like very much because I encourage her to play those toons. >.>

Here is "how deep my love" goes. When my husband first moved to Ohio, prior to us actually tying the knot... He had a character that was his "ultra main" on villains. He hadnt decided it was his ultra main thoe while playing through the initial content. So, I made a lvl 1 and proceded for the 8th time playing through every badge contact with his character so he could get ALL of the "Defeat X" badges, all of the "accomplishment" badges, etc. While playing this character I slowly realised how much NO FUN I was actually having.

His alt has all the badges, My alt has all the badges... but, I hate her.

:edit:

Sooooooooooooooooo, I would desperately love to have a token... That I could spend on that character to move ALL of her badges to a character that honestly has atleast half of all that she has, but they just sit there on that character that I hate... While the character I love is just sitting there because, well, because I dont really wanna continue being as anal as I am about the accomplishment badges. She is level 42, and I have yet again dont every single badge contact and done 99% of all the defeat all badges.

But I will never get all those other badges that my most hated villain has, because this character did not exist back then.

Simply No...i get the idea..and yes i wouldnt mind transfering them to another...but i wont pay real cash for it.

Don't see why not. Might be useful for "reinventing" concept characters - i.e. character A has been stripped of his powers or mutated or whatnot and became a different powerset/archetype character {i.e. a freshly rolled one}. The badges could still be the trophies of his achievements in his earlier career.
