I'll take that bet. How much ya giving me...er, I mean, wagering?

    It's a brand new power.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I should have bet that it wouldn't start being available for sale today. That would have been much more amusing to have been proven wrong on.

    Hint hint.
  3. I bet the power included with the Cyborg bonus pack is the transform to Freak Boss permanent temp power. Not complaining, just it would make perfect sense.
  4. I'd like to see the events:
    * That caught the attention of the Rikti in the first place and angered them to war.
    * That provoked Doctor Vahz into his ... unique ... surgical cause.

with an update to the character selection screen that lets you re-organize your character list by Drag and Drop

    [/ QUOTE ]

!!!! I can sort my characters alphabetically in hero/villain order! My obsessive-compulsive nature has literally kept me from creating and deleting certain characters. This is possibly the happiest I've ever been to see a new feature since I started playing the game...

The extra slot thing is pretty cool to: I'm going to spend a small fortune merging characters to Virtue. But that's just icing.
  6. The only way that could be better is if it was an advertisement for the in-game look of CoH2.
  7. I don't know if its been asked, but the real most important question is this: Will the hidden Cryptic Lounge in Faultline have to be renamed?

(If I kill too many critters in the lower levels, I'll outlevel some of my contacts.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Now that Flashback is on the horizon, that shouldn't be an issue unless you are really obsessed with full bars on every contact...

I think Posi's reponse in the past has been the issue of conversion - and the inevitable data corruption that would result.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If I believed that the skill of the CoH coders was sufficiently low that data corruption was inevitable in a conversion, I'd probably seek a different game. On the contrary, I have full confidence they can achieve anything they set out to, without destroying the database, given sufficient coding time.
  10. Your categories are interesting, but I'd much rather they invested their time in developing a way to sort them alphabetically.
  11. Personally I would have liked this poll to have included a "least liked new feature" option. That way I could qualify my vote of the Consignment House being the best new feature (something I indulge hours messing with every day) with the actual Inventing System being the worst. The prohibitive costs for constructing a low-end IO and lack of any actual skill (in or out of game) involved combine to make crafting a pursuit for wealthy badgers, rather then something that could be an end in itself. A system were people could have made some real sacrifice (like taking an Inventing pool power) to gain some real benefits (lower costs, the ability to memorize set IOs, or maybe even the ability to Invent in the first place) might have made it interesting as a pursuit, but for now I mostly see it as something that tricks people into being profit sources for my consignment related pursuits.

My only question is...what makes this worth $29.99 for the CD or $9.99 for the in-game? Is it all about costume pieces?

    [/ QUOTE ]

While the costume pieces are nice, I've found the Jump Pack and Pocket D teleport to be the greatest quality of life improvements ever. The Jump Pack has already saved me tons of tedious backtracking (on SS/pre travel characters) when I fall in a lake, or am blocked by some extremely wide wall, or just need a small leap for a convenient badge. And the Pocket D teleport used wisely is great for circumventing a few zone hops: For instance last night my level 5, after carefully making his way to Croatoa to turn in the salvage, used it to get back to the relative safety of King's Row rather then navigating back across Steel.

And on Virtue, there is the added bonus of the Pocket D teleport getting me the RP hub quicker when I don't feel like missioning...

    Definitely worth $10 to me.

Don't count on it. There might be something from the veteran rewards tho.

    [/ QUOTE ]
You are my new favorite forum poster.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If we really are getting a respec as a veteran reward, I hope its a higher-end respec then normal (aka, allowing you to change power sets or name or something). A reward that duplicates something that we get from multiple quests, holidays, and issues just doesn't have that special unique feel that I would hope most of the vet rewards would supply.
  14. I will always feel that the reason bases in CoX are less beloved then housing in say, UO or SWG (at certain points), is that it is aimed at team ownership rather then personal. The image of design will likely be somebody elses or a lowest common denominator agreement, and unless you run the SG you could be kicked at any time wasting all your prestige contributions (as has happened to my wife three times).

p.s. Any chance of direct confirmation that I8 will have mission sharing hero side?
  15. [ QUOTE ]
The devs really need to overhaul the mission system.

    [/ QUOTE ]
What are your thoughts regarding my concept for doing that?
  16. [ QUOTE ]
It's been 2 weeks, any idea as to when we might see this?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'm hoping they take enough time to get all the components working perfectly. Until then I'll content myself with using the new options on just the villains.
  17. It would be nice if missions that include a hero that will assist you (i.e. the new Outbreak door mission) would make sure the NPC is not randomly placed in the "last" room. If you end up having to kill every enemy on the map to reach them do to unlucky placement (as has happened to me), you totally miss the experience.

    *Hopes for sholder-baby dragons*

    [/ QUOTE ]
Or a shoulder Cthulhu. Or a shoulder elf. Or better still, a small plush shoulder skull (the gang-member, not the body part). The possibilities are really endless, if somewhat goofy.
  19. Of course most of my desires others have already said, but:

    1) Flag to auto-permit SG members to rez and tp you, independent of the main one.
    2) An SG description box similar to the player one.
    3) More ranks.
    4) Dual group membership (i.e. Batman is a member of the Justice League but also has a pool of connected heroes like Batgirl, Nightwing, and Robin to draw on that have nothing normally to do with the League).
    5) Ability to change colors/symbols (with more options).
    6) Larger message of the day.
