  1. I hope it is expensive. That last thing I want to see is a bunch of leprechauns on every ITF.

Better how? I really don't see it. These aren't game breaking issues. Most darkness characters won't even get to their pet before the patch comes through.

At one point they implied that they wouldn't launch together. If the issue has been delayed at all though, i think it is a possibility that staff fighting could also come on Tuesday.

I was wondering the same thing. I don't think it was listed in the Producer Letter as something which is on the horizon. This makes me suspect it is imminent as well, maybe Tuesday.

If you're seeing any non-NCsoft advertising or popups when viewing our e-mail newsletters, it's highly likely due to a third party application.
Any chance you could look into the fact that many players (including myself) never receive such e-mails even though they have an e-mail address on file and are opted-in to receive them?

I think the point of Premium is that it is largely an identical experience, compared to VIP, from levels 1-49 (with a few small negatives, minus some ATs, big inspires, etc.). Level 50 with SOs is perfectly valid, but level 50 lacks a real endgame motivation without access to the invention system or incarnates. It is by design and it in the interest of preserving the focus on the subscription model.
  7. My brother had problems with reward tokens, but support said they couldn't look into it when last he tried. Now we have kinda lost track of how many he should have, due to intervening point purchases etc. Really annoying that it has taken this long. Not to be pessimistic, but we were told the CS has "new tools" line by Z a month or two ago, and they still weren't looking into the problem when inquired (via web support). I am not optimistic that they would now.

Is there any reason to us an in game petition over web support?

Like if they offered the 3 current Incarnate levels shifts in the market for 100 bucks each, that'd be a pay-to-save-time offer, because players could earn those 3 shifts without needing to use the market at all - but if they offered a bonus +4 and +5 level shift only on the market, then that'd be pay-to-win, as there'd be no other way to gain those boosts without spending real cash on them.
There are scenarios in which obtaining the items through ingame means could be construed as restrictive beyond reasonable and available gameplay however. I am not under the impression that this is (very) true for ATIOs. Turbine has done some of that with their feature free to play MMO, however.

Agreed. And CoH gets so much more free content than Turbine's workhorse (one of the first big lifetime sub ventures), which is now practically an expansion mill (in addition to its very aggressive store).

I think this is an obvious undercurrent. Despite the fact that players are getting "value" with super packs, many players are paying for more than they want. This is obvious in the case of those chasing the wolf summon. It is from this point of view that the arguments that this sort of marketing is "abusive" stem.

Sorry to jump back into this thread a bit blind, but this statement seems to ignore the dominant request of players who were disappointed with the super packs. I repeatedly requested that they offer the costume pieces in addition to the super packs (even without a bundle value, priced solely individually). Give me a) the chance to buy what I want and avoid the random mill (choosing take certainty over value) or b) let me have a way of finishing the costume set individually if, partaking in the super packs, i am left without what I want. he latter is especially important to me. I would buy super packs if I could finish the costume set with certainty.

The dominant discussion was never super packs or no super packs. The dominant discussion was exclusivity v. nonexclusivity.

Personally, I don't think super packs are hurting them. But they may limiting the success by not offering the costume pieces individually in addition to the super packs. And, furthermore, they may hurt themselves in a long run by turning off players who collect costume pieces but are turned off by super packs.

I don't think the success of super packs will be in question. The success of exclusivity, however, is an unanswerable question.

True, I don't think they lied as such. I do however think they defined (or maybe promoted) the micro-transactions in Freedom in opposition to bundle-based micro-transactions.

Wow. Are you sure? Not even by the worst estimations should that happen.

This is why they should guarantee all of the costume pieces if you get something like a 12 pack or more.

Interesting, I didn't expect these were a concept then. I think it is a bit shameful that they stated that Freedom would allow us to get exactly what we want (ie. give us the freedom to just get the belt from a super pack, instead of the whole thing), but these are designed to make us buy more than we might want, even if we just want a specific item.

Beast Mastery? Time Manipulation? IDF Costume set? Halloween Trail? Halloween Costume pack? Carnival of Shadows costume set? Rocket Travel? Magic Carpet Travel? Coyote Run? German Shepherd pet? Incarnate trails? ....
I think you get the point.. all this costs man power to think up, to create, to test and to implement.
Sorry to hop into this discussion so late, but this is an extremely incongruous list. Most of the things on that list players already have to pay for. So even we players who are against super packs are well aware of the extent to which we fund the development of the game. Just because we are fine with one form of microtransaction doesn't mean we necessarily should settle for another.

This is shameless attack on players who actually want the game to excel. I think that superpacks are harmful to the game in the long run. I may well be wrong. Anyways, most players who are against super packs just want to pay a set amount for the costume pieces. They aren't asking for handouts (not that we never do that).

A lot of us, including myself, never get the e-mail. They assume we are opted out (which I am not) when we complain about it and nothing gets done about it.

You only have a 34% chance if you get a very rare. You many not even get a very rare.

I am not sure why Z posted these numbers without also telling us the chance of getting each tier, since it makes the rare and very rare numbers practically useless.
  22. This is a no for me too (though I may throw some stray reward tokens at them).

I am against these as a product and don't want to see future ones implemented in the same way. I vote no. I only want the costume set and won't pay a random amount for them.

If you had let us buy the costume pieces individually, a la carte, then I would probably have bought some packs to try my luck. As is, nope.

That is not what is says. It says "the fashions", implying the costume pieces, will be unavailable for purchase after March 6th.

I already posted one screed about how my view of Marketing/Production is plummeting. This is the second. And it's plummeting further.
Also, I should note that I have several real life friends who play this game and sometimes we can scarcely get in 2 or so play sessions a month. I imagine this is true of a lot of people, people who have a long-term nostalgic love of the game, but don't get to play it very often because of various commitments. Limited time offers can cause them to miss items they would otherwise buy.

Quit with the time limited exclusives. They are only reasonably acceptable with obvious holiday items, and even then they annoy me. Just stop it.
