I only mentioned storing to be comprehensive in the concept, so don't get hung up about it guys. I'm more interested in being able to sell a stack of enhancements in one slot. For example, if I was working the Common IOs. It would massively increase the volume I could put up (subject to salvage availability, of course) and at the same time, free up slots for other purposes.

For me, Tactics is the primary purpose of picking up the Leadership pool. The toss up is between Maneuvers and Assault. There are plenty of people who believe that slotting only one Accuracy is good enough. Well, yeah, if you were fighting nothing special, even con enemies. However, you may note that in the higher level game, most teams are running +2-4 and facing debuffs and defenses. Do you want to spend your time whiffing and complaining that the Devs nerfed accuracy again or do you want to land your attacks consistantly? And as DrMike mentions, there are the frickin' Arachnos and their overpowered smoke grenades.

I currently have an irrational urge to get a Netbook. It's primary purpose would be to allow me to offload photos from my camera. I'm looking into Netbooks because they're small and lightweight enough for me to consider carrying it around.
As I had never bothered with Netbooks before, I don't know anything about them. How do the various CPUs compare? I assume that it's a given the integrated graphics will suck, but how do they compare anyway? How is Windows Starter 7? I'm still on XP on my desktop and have no experience with using Windows 7. -

A lot of you still remember the ads, so they worked in terms of reinforcing those brands. Although, they probably didn't convert to sales.

With the new market interface, you can bid/buy a stack of crafted enhancements in one market slot. Inspirations too. But, is there a way to drop or otherwise cram a stack of enhancements into one market slot for selling or storage?

Quote:3) YOU chose PuddlesofPink, got embarassed, but don't know how to change it, so you're cleverly asking what happened like you don't really know.
The first thing "PuddlesofPink" brought to my mind was Choo-Choo Bear, the cat in the Something Positive webcomic.

- related crossover appearance at Girls with Slingshots -
Quote:Remember, there are a lot of newbies this month. Some might even be young kids. Not all Tank or Brute players will know what is expected of them. For the first enemy spawn group, you may want to initiate the fight. After that, usually one of the team members will start moving up on their own and you can follow him (if you want).
Depending on your AT & level, either jump in and get things rolling or head back toward your team then lead them to the right spot. A good tank will do this on their own... if they don't, it's up to you to keep barreling foward to keep the pace lively, regardless of your AT.
Typically it will be someone who's attacks or controls are most effective if the enemy group is still in a tight cluster. They will want to be up front so they can do their thing immediately, before the group gets all scattered. So, which ever team mate is willing to pave the way and accept taking the alpha strike, they are the point man. Let them lead the way and if you're on a support type character, be sure to back them up.
Of course, if no one is willing, then you'll have to do it. If you can do debuff or controls, open with it. If you can use it out of line of sight, like while you're peeking around a corner, so much the better. Try to minimize the alpha strike response from the enemy upon yourself, especially if the team is slow to respond.
And as you go through the mission, if you come to a fork in the cave or a corridor intersection, don't hesitate. Pick a direction. I've noticed that most teams will usually go left first. That's a good enough rule of thumb for me. -
Yeah, it's safe, just looks dismal. With a big convention, there will be lots of people walking along with you. And, of course, there will be people who won't want to buy the expensive food there, so they'll be hiking back to "civilization" to eat and such. It's also near one of the entrances to the Lincoln Tunnel, so there's a lot of traffic.

I still don't understand how they ever got Cow and Chicken passed the censors! It was all about butt jokes with characters that wore no pants, even the non-anthropomorphic ones. Most of whom took every opportunity to moon the viewer with their fat, glistening male booties.
That said, all the old ones from the 50s and 60s are burned into my brain. I start to not recognize a few starting from the 70s. And I guess around the 80s, I started to get more picky and blew off a bunch of them. I remember when the Cartoon Channel/Network showed the pilots of some of their potential new programming and Dexter's Lab and the Powerpuff Girls immediately captured my attention. -
NYC really needs to do something about the surrounding area around the Javits Center. It's still too dilapidated-industrial looking. Especially while you're treking to it across the very long between-avenue blocks (they're like 2.5 regular blocks in length). I seldom get motivated enough to want to go to an event there.

Quote:News article: Bank wants thumbprint from man with no handsIt's kinda like having a horridly burnt face you normally cover with a ski mask.
You are going to have to take off that mask to bank in person.
I just like the idea of a person getting mad he can't wear his ski mask to the bank. -
Chickers - female scrapper, many years ago. I came across her on my way through Steel on Infinity and paused when I noticed her fighting the Tsoo by Silver Lake. I guess I was playing a support type character, I can't remember exactly. Yet, I remember thinking that she was probably doing the Tsoo hunt given by that contact at the southern end of Skyway. I don't know why, but this name pressed my buttons. It still pleases me when I say it in my head. At the time, I was extremely envious of not having it while also felt great pity towards myself because I knew that would have never thought of it.

I remember the first time I tried to run a level 2 all the way to Portal Corp in PI just to see if I could do it. I was doing good until I hit Talos and realized that the last time I was on foot there was way back on my first character, before I learned to get a Travel power. I had been Flying through Talos for so long (a couple of years) that I had forgotten how to get to the Ferry without cheating (jumping into the water and swimming to it). I recalled a tunnel near the train station, but I couldn't remember if it let out at the docks (it doesn't). While I was debating whether to take a blind jump off the cliff down to the docks, I got nailed by some Freaks. And a second time when I came back carelessly. I eventually did make it and took some screenshots at the Portal Corp logo.

Quote:Tangent! As a Villian it seems you can move arount from 1-10 all in more or less the same zone.
Are you still in Mercy Island? Typically, by level 6 you should be done with your Mercy Island Contacts and they would have referred you to Port Oakes (lvl 6-12 zone). Are you aware of the Ferry to get to the other villain zones? -

Fixed a crash whenever a Tourist became leader of a Task Force or Strike Force. Tourists can now accept and lead Task Forces and Strike Forces. -
You're at such a low level in Praetoria, why are you using a respec? Using your second build option at the Trainer would probably suit your needs well enough. You'd have to purchase all new enhancements, though.
And I don't know if there is a respec NPC in Praetoria. -
I would suggest that you should at least start your shelved characters on memorizing some of the Common IO recipes. Crafting and selling crafted Common IOs doesn't take much time. You can do it while you wait for something interesting to form on your server's TF or recruiting global channels.

I use Crushing Impacts (melee) and Thunderstrikes (ranged). On most characters, I can get 3 sets of them in and then the Vet attacks are noticibly more reliable.

Quote:Here's a screenshot illustration I did for another player last month wondering about this same thing. Note: he was asking about a Hold Set IO in a blast power....and I don't know the rules that determined that.
Can anyone explain?

Congrats! Although for some reason, I was under the impression that you were already in the club.

I'm not as aggressive a Marketeer like some of these other guys, but I'll give you my perspective.
First off, I'll start by saying that my wealthiest characters are the ones I don't play much of anymore. With my active characters, I'm looking short term because I'm trying to slot out my builds. As such, I can't devote market slots to bid-and-wait or sell-it-high plays. My inactive characters have all the time in the world. I've got a few characters with just fishing bids out where I snag Set IO pieces that people are posting for almost nothing, then I place it back on sale. I also have a few characters working niches. If these niches suddenly crash, eh, I can wait it out. And of course, they don't have a need to spend for their own slotting.
My first Billionaire was a level 20 concept character, a henchmen-less Mastermind. It took over a year of steadily working a couple of niches to achieve it. A couple of other retirees have crossed the line since then. Meanwhile, my active characters are trudging along with around a hundred million Inf.
I may buy up a stack or two of recipes cheaply to have on hand and to try tighten up the competition, but I don't like to craft up too much inventory. Just a couple at a time as they sell. Frankly, for what I paid for the recipes, I can just vendor them without any pangs of loss if I want to move on.
As for salvage, I do have several characters bidding low to moderately for rare salvage. In terms of crafting cost, rare salvage overshadows pretty much everything else. I have some frequently used common salvages in my Vault, but I devote 2-4 Salvage Bins (per Base) to rare salvage. Now with the merged market and the ability to email between factions, so I can count both hero and villain side Bases together, I enjoy the capacity of 6 personal Bases. I have many enhancement bins, around 5-9 per Base, but those are for stocking enhancements for personal use. I'm a hoarder. Every year or so, I go through them an sell off stuff that I'll probably never get to using.
I don't really hold excess inventory though, again, because I don't pre-craft stuff I intend to market. Although, prior to the Market Merge, I was able to buy up a lot of pieces for a couple of niches I was working because someone was dumping. Scared about the Merge, I guess.
As for the Base Work Tables, other than using one to craft my Telepads, I don't recall ever needing to use them again. I sold them all off a long time ago. -
You can get rid of your current batch of non-responsive henchmen with: /releasepets
It works with any kind of summoned pets. -

I think the shift to vigilantism will be fairly quick. No matter how much of a do gooder I am or wish myself to be, there will be plenty of annoying people that it'd just be a lot less stressful for me if occasional examples are made. Keeping myself to too strict a code of conduct, especially if it is made public, will entice too many people to play and manipulate it for their own purposes. I believe flexibility is key.
