  2. I lost power suddenly this morning and it lasted most of the day, 11 am --> 9:30 pm. I don't know why, but I suspect it was planned outage so my power company could working on something. And the radio is still listing the various other power companies in the Tri-state area here who each have hundreds of thousand customers without power.
  3. I've always found your posts about your idiot team mates entertaining. It's a unfortunate that you got so much flak for your outspokenness.

    Hurricane Sandy

My lights have flickered occasionally since noon-ish, but I still have power. The wind, though, is now really loud.

A side benefit of the wind so far, is that it has shaken out 3 moderately large dead branches from the oak trees in my back yard (only 2 are visible here). Less threat of sudden death from above in the future.

Unfortunately, I underestimated my stock of canned and dry food by the time I thought about it. I can probably get by for a week if I had too, but it's not as much of a buffer as I'd like if all this power outage hype comes be realized. The canned cat food isn't much better and my cat has been finicky about the dry stuff.

Anyway, it's starting to get a bit windy here. Public transit service is shut down, so I'm working from home as long as I have power. I'm living in Jersey now, but I'm in-land a bit and not near any rivers or streams. Although, my neighbors tell me that that depression I have in my back yard was once the brook that gave this street I'm on its name

Speaking of power, maybe I should start a Dr Q TF. I've never been the one that would disappear after a couple of missions only to reappear just before the last mission due to "loss of power". Now's my chance to achieve this milestone in my COH experience!

So, how goes the betting pool on where it's going to hit?
  7. I launched and logged into the game normally.
  8. Wow! A real tear jerker. I really liked the walk through of cheering heroes.

Yeah, they're catering to the ultra-premium niche. Still, keep it in mind if anyone offers to get you a gift.

    Finally Fifty

Was that a Shadow Shard TF or regular mission? Either way, kudos for doing it old school!
  11. Let me take this opportunity to plug Rasa Vineyards wines. One of the brothers behind the company is a college buddy of mine and I'm for a 2% stake in the partnership. If you care, professional wine reviewers have consistently given Rasa's wines 90+ points, or equivalents if they don't use points. Unfortunately, I can't give you a personal opinion because my palette just doesn't do alcohol well. To me, all wines tastes like I'm chewing grape seeds and beer is just vile.

    Edit:
I had a case of assorted Rasa wines sent to Paragon Studios for their 7th Anniversay, so if any Devs want to comment...
  12. Sorry, I didn't notice this thread until this morning. I'm attending the NYCC. I wore my 3 werewolf and moon T-shirt and my Player Summit lanyard. Although, to be honest, I doubt I made much of an impression amidst the press of the crowds.

    What is AP33?

I heard Virtue maxed out at around Atlas Park 33, that's why late comers were going to Freedom, etc.

So in trying to understand what's been going on with NCSoft and their announcment from yesterday, I've done a bit of digging around with some help. I came across this article from 2009:

    http://t-machine.org/index.php/2009/...ness/#more-725

It's interesting reading and helps to explain some of the context of why NCSoft is making the decisions that it's making.
This link at the bottom of your link's is also very interesting reading. It's amazing how you can bearly tell that both blog posts are from 2009 based on how history is repeating.

    Edit:
Whoops! I forgot to include the link: Why NCsoft Doesn’t Sell Off Its Failures
  17. I'm still playing every day. I bought the Water Blast set and made a water/dark Blaster the day after the initial announcement. I got her to 50 last week after only 65 hours on Patrol doing Tips, TFs and general teaming. My fastest ever, but then again, I don't have the luxury of spending 3-400 hours like I did for my first batch of characters that did mostly soloing. I must say that I really like Water Blast. It plays like Fire Blast with all the AOEs, but is more survivable because of its secondary effect.

Next week, I may start up a Nature Affinity Controller.
  18. So this game started with a Rikti Invasion and it'll end with one.

That's the new mechanic I was being coy about. I was really looking forward to it too. You could use it to pull off cool tricks like snatching mobs from across the room.

The things Andy can pull with a 8+ year old engine is phenomenal.
Ah, I just noticed this post.

I suggested this mechanic on the COV Beta boards way back when. It was among a couple more gravitaic attacks I was musing on a thread about powerset suggestions. The only problem was that all the good names for it was in use by existing powers (black hole, singularity, increased density). I imagined it to be a toggle debuff with damage on the anchor while it was on. The effect on the surrounding enemies would be -def, -resist, and -recharge while they were being dragged towards the anchor (slowly). It'd have a high endurance cost, of course.

    Ascendant!!!

OK. I have no idea who Ascendant is. Some give me a briefing please.
