Course, that was -way- back, but it's something at least in the past their lawyers considered akin to decompiling. Not something they can stop you from doing obviously, but something they can stop you from talking about.
That doesn't mention anything about looking at the file listing in the folder. It just says you can't use a program to open and view the files.

    As far as I know
Are you trying to say it's forbidden to open the Piggs folder and look at the file names listed there? If so, that's just silly. I can look inside any folder on my computer if I want; it's my computer, after all.

Yes. Then he tied the old version of the game to the railroad tracks. No one was able to save it.
  4. Yeah... I had fun designing my zombie cowgirl. I'm gonna remake her on one of the Live servers.

You have those words backwards sir, unless you are actually trying to say CoH is centered around PvP and raiding, in which case you'd be wrong.

Our lead dev used to be Statesman. Front and center, large, and powerful.
I hear he was also evil and carried a colossal nerf bat.

Interesting concept. On a nerdpick point; however, the personal force fields were also from the book originally (albeit, I don't recall Herbert describing them as being so blocky).

So, I guess what I want to ask is, what's the best character to make that can farm quickly, preferrably with SOs?
IOs are important? And here I thought they were optional.

  14. On the Ice issue for Brutes, could it be that it's because Ice has a tendency to slow the recharge times on powers thus making attacks a lot less frequent? I've noticed that whenever I'm a target for ice powers, it takes seemingly forever for any of my powers to recharge, whereas with other powers like fear, stun, or knockdown, it's just a minor inconvenience. Perhaps this is what the devs meant?

I like the Superstrength Set and think it's one of the most "complete" sets around. It offers good ST damage, good AoE damage, a nice ranged attack and some mitigation if you feel the need (lolhandclap). The only power in the set that I tend to be on the fence about is Rage, and I wanted to propose a discussion.

Now, don't get it twisted. I think Rage is a fine power and can provide some superior damage output but I find the crash to be annoying to me personally. I'm aware I could skip this power but I'm not sure I really like that option. So, here's what I'm asking...

It's quite obvious having Rage active produces a higher damage output during the duration but I want to know if the Rage Crash will lower the overall damage output to a point where NOT taking Rage is a viable and attractive solution. My perspective is from a Brute, but feel free to give your thoughts on Brutes and/or Tankers.

Unfortunately, I don't have the tools to determine the answer but I know many of you reading are very skilled at this type of comparison. So, what do you think?
On my Inv/SS Tanker, the crash is hardly noticeable. He fails at damaging anything for a little while and then the damage suddenly comes back. I personally think Rage is worth it, as it has a longer effect than Build Up on most other melee sets and just makes SS that much more awesome in damage.

Heck, I made a grav once just so I could totally be this guy using the ST hold that suspends the enemy following up with Propel.
    /Psi? What set is that?

Getting less strict, you could go comic book science and just call your Energy Melee/Energy Blast/Energy Assault/Whatever 'chronal energy' or something. Those punches totally don't hurt people, they just hurl them forward through time a few days so they pass out from dehydration and a sudden lack of sleep or something! I guess! It's comic science, man, don't ask me.

Superspeed and Hasten would just be givens, of course.

Gravity control also seems like it could fit. For example, a hold could be considered some kind of temporal stasis. Also, you might be able to create a backstory involving space-time, which lends itself to gravity.

Thanks for the ideas folks. I was leaning toward a Controller to start with, but I wanted some suggestions for the idea. I agree, a Grav/Kin Controller would make a very good time traveler/manipulator.
  21. Anyone have any ideas for what would be good to simulate the ability to control time?

A Scythe would be interesting. True, it's very specific and not common in comic books, but it does appear from time to time. Here's a few comic characters who've used scythes over the years.

    •The Hooded One from Bone.
•Isaac of Reaper 7 wields a scythe, and is even called "Grim Reaper" by mooks for doing so. Later battle sequences seem to indicate that the scythe has an inward and outward blade.
•In the first of many unstoppable rages, Ivan Isaacs of Priest decimates a horde of zombies with an ordinary farm scythe.
•Reaper of Marvel Comics has always used one. Even after losing both of his hands.
•Nekron, the Big Bad of the Blackest Night, wields a scythe that has a Power Battery built in.
•The Brazilian Comic Book Holy Avanger had a troglodyte character who wielded a scythe... but called it an Axe. Interestingly enough, it was later revealed the scythe had the advantages of both an Axe and a Scythe by D&D rules (as the Comic Book took place in a world that worked under the Rules of Dungeons And Dragons... and Defenders of Tokyo... don't ask). Also intriguingly the character's name was Tork, a reference to Torque, stated below as one of the Scythe's main actual advantages.

If I Weaken a boss, even with it fully slotted, I don't exactly feel safe going AFK in front of him.

I havent played all the way through, so is it all down to Noxious Gas, and the increasing usefulness of the -special in Weaken as I hit the higher content?
That. And Envenom ( Foe -DEF(All), -Res(All), -Regen, -Heal). Neurotoxic Breath is good for the Foe Hold, -Recharge, and -SPD, plus it's a cone.
